How the hell did you get Thomas Gravesen? He never signs for me! -
Who will you support if Saints go really under ?
SuperMikey replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
If Saints ceased to exist I would probably support either Basingstoke or AFC Southampton. Oh hell, i'll support both. Just for the fun of it. Failing that, probably Aldershot or Woking. I will never stoop to supporting Reading. -
Is that Zoltan Liptak then?

Sanganowski? lol. COYR! Let's take advantage of the one man deficit!

Tip: lie in until 11am on saturday's, grab the last hour, it's got all the best bits in it (soccerette, skill school, crossbar challenge, road to rome etc). That's what I do at least.

So much for us being the 'featured game' then. ITV seem to love Derby and Clough, didn't they do a feature on him last week as well as having their match as the main game? Molyneux = complete tw*t. That was a shocking challenge, probably would've been a straight red if he hadn't already been booked. Please Mark, don't play him. He's punching a bit above his weight here, loan him out to Bournemouth for the rest of the season and put Mills in at left back, or at least Skacel while he's still here. However, Saga's goals were both sublime finishes, especially the second one. I think with him in our team we might just survive this season..

Just started my first season with Saints, currently 14th in the table, which ain't too bad. Be pushing for play-offs hopefully at the end of the season, but that's a distant dream. Managed to get a decent amount of money to spend after flogging some players, which also brought down the wage bill considerably. OUTS Stern John - £250,000 (Nurnberg) Jason Euell - £20,000 (Sheffield Wednesday) Rudi Skacel - £1.7m (Crystal Palace) INS Lamine Diatta - Free Jordy Deckers - Loan until End of Season (AZ) Koki Mizuno - £50,000 (Celtic) Emiliano Insua - Loan until End of Season (Liverpool) Daryl Murphy - Loan until End of Season (Sunderland) Stanton Lewis - Loan until End of Season (Ajax) Shelton Martis - £30,000 (West Brom) Montesin - £160,000 (Umm-Salal) Binya - £190,000 (Benfica) Line up: ---------Davis/Deckers--------- Martis--Diatta--Svensson--Insua --Cork/Morgan--Surman/Binya--- Mizuno-----------------Montesin --------Lewis--BWP------------- Subs: Davis/Deckers, James, Thomas, Gillett, Dyer, Lallana, DMG Central mid has become a tough position to pick players for! But will be easier once Cork's loan expires. Stanton Lewis is a bit hit and miss, but he scored 9 goals in his first pre-season friendlies against Oldham and Eastleigh, and he's scored 9 so far this season in the league. Got Kenny Cooper coming for £800,000 in January who should hopefully score lots of goals, and also putting in a bid for Hernani, letting Svensson go for free at the end of the season because he's a bit slow and prone to making mistakes at the back. Any more tips apart from who i've already signed? -
What i've seen of Wotte and his tactics so far has been promising. His team selection against Norwich was a little suspect, but we put out a very strong team today I thought, and we did well to get the point after going 2-1 down with 10 men. I think this guy can keep us up. As for the formation, I think it worked quite well. There's not much width there, but if we concentrate our play through the middle of the park then the lack of width would not matter. My only qualm with the formation is that if teams like Swansea who play a wide game played against that team, they would have a field day, because it would pull the shape of our midfield and defence apart as players would have to constantly move out of position to close down wingers. However, it's only a minor qualm, and I think the future looks (relatively) bright for Saints under Wotte.

Squad announced on OS: (from) Davis, Bialkowski, Saeijs, Perry, Lancashire, James, Molyneux, Wotton, Gillett, Schneiderlin, Surman, Smith, Lallana, Pulis, Gasmi, McGoldrick, Euell, McLaggon, Wright-Phillips, Saganowski. (no Rudi I see..) from that squad I would play: -----------Davis--------------- James--Perry--Saeijs--Molyneux -----Surman---Morgan--------- Lallana-------------------Kayne -------Saga---DMG------------ Subs: Bart, Lancashire, Euell, Wright-Phillips, Smith

I'm actually feeling quite positive about Wotte as a manager. I would've preferred a manager like Aidy Boothroyd or Ian Dowie, but he seems like he knows what he's doing (unlike JP (and apart from not starting Saga on Tuesday)) and I think that he could be a decent manager for us. I know most people will be hoping that he fails so that they can have more ammunition to snipe at the board, but I hope that he succeeds. He seems like a nice guy and I think he might be able to keep us up.

I will always remember that goal against Watford.. was watching it on TV and I screamed the place down when it went in! One of my best moments as a Saints fan actually.

Recently started watching MST3K (aka Mystery Science Theater 3000). TV series which ran from 1988 - 1999, there are plenty of episodes on YouTube which are absolutely hilarious. It's a bit of a fanboy classic. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094517/

Currently at the end of the 2011/2012 season on my England game. Managed the national team from the start, not lost a game so far, won the world cup and just about to head into the European Championships. Was offered the job at Man Utd at the end of the 2010/2011 season but turned it down to concentrate on qualifying for the Euro's, but was offered again a few weeks ago and accepted it. Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor are two very good youngsters, both pacy, skillful and with an eye for goal. Young has scored 10 goals in his last 14 games for England, not bad considering he's playing on the left wing! Agbonlahor has scored 12 goals in 25 games too. Rooney is always injured and Owen is cack, so James Vaughan seems to be Agbonlahor's strike partner, he's very good too. Guiseppe Rossi of Villareal is a class act too, extremely good stats. Mario Gomez has won the World Footballer of the Year three years running. These are definately all players to pick up if you have a big transfer budget like I now have at United! Hope you're all enjoying surviving precariously in whatever league with Saints!

First XI (4-4-2) -----------Davis------------ James--Saeijs--Perry--Skacel ------Surman--Morgan------- Lallana----------------Holmes ---------BWP--Saga--------- Subs: Bart, Lancashire, McLaggon, Euell, DMG Ideally i'd play Lallana in the hole, but I think that Saga doesn't have the physical strength to be able to play up front on his own, so giving him some support in the form of BWP would help that. The full backs would overlap the wingers, providing an extra line of service for strikers, while Saeijs and Perry stay back, because they don't really have the pace to be able to charge up and down the pitch with every attack. Surman to move into almost an attacking midfielder position with Morgan staying further back in a holding position. Second XI (4-2-3-1) ------------Davis-------------- James--Saeijs--Perry--Molyneux ------Surman--Morgan--------- BWP-------Lallana-------Skacel ------------Saga-------------- Subs: Bart, Lancashire, McLaggon, DMG, Holmes With this formation we'd concentrate play through the middle of the pitch, using Lallana in a playmaker role, with Saga dropping back slightly to allow Lallana to attack alongside him. Surman and Morgan playing as holding midfielders, conservatively, with the full backs attacking but not moving too far up the pitch that it leaves us exposed at the back. I know that this is a tried, tested and rubbish formation, but I think we have players that suit a formation such as this. Could be quite a good formation to use in away games, using 4-4-2 at home.

You got Bendtner? In what season? :smt104 -
Franz Ferdinand - Tonight It's on their MySpace, so you can either listen to it on their and buy the physical release or just pirate it. I did the latter. Quite good actually, not much of a change from their normal style but it's still on par with the other two albums. Stand out tracks are Ulysses, No You Girls and What She Came For.

Seeing as there are a lot of mods on this thread, why does it say that my email address is banned when I try to log in? I have to get a new password if I want to log in..what rubbish. I didn't pay my (imaginary) fiver for this!

Who is this Admas who people keep going on about? He any good? I would love to have any of those managers here, but that won't happen. If Jan does get the sack (touch wood) then we'll have Wotte and/or Hockaday in charge. Personally i'd love to have Ian Dowie here, as a former Saint himself we already have an affinity towards him, and he's shown that he's a decent manager at this level. Didn't he take Palarse from being in a similar position to us to the top half of the table a few seasons back? Would be a quality manager imo.
-
This mug should've been out a long time ago. He should do the honourable thing and resign, and then we can get in a decent manager. Aidy Boothroyd is available, and would probably be quite cheap. Same goes for Ian Dowie, although he may be slightly more expensive. Shame really, because after the win against Barnsley (however scrappy it was) I thought we'd turned a corner. But obviously not.
-
Oh dear. We can still win this though! COYR!

You can get an external hard-drive, which you can transfer your files on to while your laptop is still alive, and then you can link the hard drive up to another pc. Maxtor do a good line in them.

Mine works fine tbh, had very little problems with it, which is surprising considering the number of people who seem to have had problems with the game.
