  1. Drowned in Sound linked to this earlier - i'm a big fan of timestretches and this was a particularly relevant one I thought.
  2. Don't think we'll throw him in straight away, but he will be #1 for us. Give him a couple of weeks to bed in and get to know his back 4 (whoever they may be) before starting him.
  3. Ah, I thought you were talking about Schneiderlin. My bad! As for my choice, it would be as such: ---------------BORUC------------------ CLYNE----FONTE----MAYA----BERTRAND -------------WANYAMA----------------- ------DAVIS--------------JWP---------- RAMIREZ-------PELLE-------------TADIC Subs: Forster, Targett, Hooiveld, Cork, Taider, Isgrove, Gallagher Guess that team kind of picks itself at the moment - maybe with one or to ins over the coming weeks we'll look a bit more competitive.
  4. Well, if he's not mentally or physically prepared to play 90 minutes it would be stupid to start him when we have other options in the squad.
  5. With the signing of Taider, we really don't need Fer. Like, REALLY don't need him. He's a good player, but we're really stocked up on CMs at the moment. Now, if he was a RB, CB or ST I would be happier, but he's none of those!
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsGfCrdWUOE On a bit of an Elvis spree this week - particularly like this one!
  7. Guardians of the Galaxy. Go and see it - it's f*cking great.
  8. Keep taking the meds Block34.
  9. My sign-ey senses are tingling..
  10. Oi - us Scotland fans are very proud of our 27th placed ranking! Only 7 below England after your fantastic world cup Lesotho are shocking, although Kenya aren't much apart from Vic, his brother Mariga and Oliech. Love the bit about Seychelles forfeiting against Sierra Leone because of the Ebola virus! Maybe that's how Scotland will qualify for the Euros, just need to send the population of Dundee to Lagos for a long weekend (although I think the people of Lagos would end up with more diseases than the Dundonians)..
  11. Historically, they're far bigger. But recently? Not too much difference imo. I think that's what matters to a player, Villa have been on the decline for a while.
  12. Post of the month.
  13. I think we're about the same size tbh in terms of achievements, time at the top level etc. I would put us in the same bracket as Everton, Newcastle, Villa and West Ham - below the Top 6 but above the likes of Stoke, Hull, Swansea etc. Plus, there's big friction at the club and there's no investment in their squad or manager. On our side, our manager is a Dutch legend and he would be part of a team aiming for Europe as opposed to trying to stay up..
  14. Oops, my post above was supposed to be in the Pre Season thread, but meh. Looking at the squad, I still think we need to bring in a Goalkeeper, a CB and a Striker but I think we'll have our goalie and CB wrapped up by the end of the week (Forster and Van Dijk). Just need to bring in somebody who can have an impact off the bench as well as being able to step up when Pelle is injured/out of form. Still think Ings would be the perfect choice for that role, just depends on who RK thinks is best to fit that description..
  15. From watching the highlights, Tadic and Prowsey really stood out. Prowsey in particular seemed to really do well at finding space in good areas outside the box and put a couple of good shots on target as well as his goal, which hopefully could bode well for the "goals from midfield" factor that Lallana & Rodriguez gave us last season. Overall i'm feeling pretty positive, squad seem to be working very well together and with a couple of additions I think we could very well be looking at another top-half finish! *Puts on flak jacket and awaits "happy clapper" jibes*
  16. To celebrate the excellent news that TV on the Radio have a new album coming out soon, I have been reliving their excellent set at Glastonbury in 2011 which is still one of the finest (and hottest) I have seen. This and the cover of Ghostbusters that followed just after being the highlights!
  17. Anyone would think we'd re-animated Goebbels to play LB this season reading this thread. Ryan's a solid player, not spectacular but good enough to get us by while Targett develops - he's clearly seen as the future LB for the club so it makes sense to bring someone in now to rotate with him, and they seem quite similar in style as well so maybe he can learn a bit from watching Ryan play as he's had the benefit of receiving some top-level coaching in his career with Chelsea & also in the England set-up. Welcome Ryan!
  18. I saw him and his missus and nipper driving through Portswood yesterday, true story.
  19. Don't think he'll walk out, but if Morgan is so key to the "core" that Krueger was talking about why do this without informing him it was happening? Like he's just going to sit there and say "Yeah, that's absolutely fine".
  20. True, but you can't get a player involved in advanced negotiations for a transfer and then pull the plug (allegedly) for the sake of PR - it's just going to p!ss people off. The whole good vibe that Krueger tried to create earlier has gone with that. I think the whole idea from now on is to keep players happy, which they've fallen at the first hurdle at!
  21. Agreed, seems the most plausible action for his outburst. This board are complete f*cking amateurs.
  22. That positivity lasted for what, 2 hours?
