  1. Always said play-offs were an outside chance, yet after a good run of form people thought that we were definitely going to be in the play-offs at the end of the season. Like SC says, if you don't win in your first 10 games, chances are you won't be in the upper echelons of the table come the end of the season. He's still a dirty skate, but he's talking sense at least.
  2. Football Manager is far superior to any CM that there has ever been, but I still loved playing CM 00/01 back in the day. FM05 revolutionised the way that football managing sims are created nowadays, and the CM creators just haven't been able to keep up.
  3. Good to see that we're looking into the striker position, i'd love us to sign Lisbie and Barnard. If we had Lambert, Barnard, Connolly and Lisbie, we'd have two quality combinations of target man + fox-in-the-box that any team in the division would want to have.
  4. -----------Davis------------- James--Perry--Fonte--Harding (Mills if not fit) ----------Wotton------------ ------Morgan--Lallana-------- Waigo-----------------Holmes ----------Lambert------------ Subs: Bart, Thomas, Gobern, Connolly, Antonio That's what i'd play anyway. I assume that Harding and Lallana will shake off their knocks, like somebody said in the other thread, Pardew has said that players are doubtful before yet still played them anyway. Harding and Lallana are two key players for us, and with Seabourne and Otsemobor cup tied and Hammond and Jaidi injured, we're very short on options.
  5. What was wrong with it Tsu?
  6. Nicky Bailey is the best player in this league imo, he's absolutely class. Some of the goals he scores as well are unbelievable. If we could get him i'd be ecstatic!
  7. It just made me feel dizzy and a bit sick! Only played for 2 minutes...
  8. On second thoughts, you're right.
  9. Edited because.
  10. Goes to show that Pards definitely has a point about late goals. Absolutely gutted to draw like that. I think we can kiss goodbye to the play-offs now, they seem so far away now. Realistically, are we going to make up 12 points? I don't really mind, my personal hope for this season was for us to stay up and i'll still be happy with that.
  11. The way I see it we'd line up something like what I posted, but you're probably right. I'm still not convinced that Lallana is a winger though, would rather see Papa on the right with Lallana either on the bench or in the hole if Holmes is on the left.
  12. Good! The lad obviously has talent, and i'm really happy that he's finally got his chance in the first team for today. Hopefully he can prove to Pards that he can do a job for us on the left side.
  13. 4-4-2 it is then.. -----------Davis----------------- Jon O--Fonte--Seaborne--Harding James--Deano---Morgan---Holmes ------Lambert--Lallana-----------
  14. Any team news out there?
  15. http://picktheperp.com/ Warning: it's very addictive. I'm absolutely gash at this though, never get it right
  16. Vote Lib Dem!
  17. I voted undecided. Still not sure about Papa, there's no doubting that he's bloody quick and unpredictable on the ball, but his constant offsides make me think that he doesn't really read the game very well. I'm sure there are better players out there that will be cheaper and cost less in wages that could play wide right at this level or higher, depending on what happens at the end of this season. Jamal Campbell-Ryce is a player who I think could be great here, would love to see us sign him. I have a sneaky feeling that Jon Otsemobor will link up quite well with Papa actually, they're both attacking right sided players and both extremely pacy. We shall have to wait and see though.
  18. I really don't like Reading or their plastic fans, but I don't like Liverpool much more either. Liverpool were off their game but I think they were the better team, they dominated the game and passed the ball effortlessly around the Reading players. Reading were lucky to get the penalty, not saying that it wasn't a penalty, more the fact that they probably didn't deserve it after wasting so many good chances over the course of 90 minutes, especially the McAnuff chance. I do think that Liverpool going out will be a good thing for the club though, because it shows them that they need to improve the squad a lot more if they want to get anywhere near the top 4 this year. I had Liverpool down to win the title this year because they were so good last year, but since Xabi Alonso went they've just not been the same team. They need somebody like Alonso who'll break up play and create chances for them, somebody like MS only better. They've been really unlucky with injuries though this season, especially now with Torres, Benayoun and Gerrard out at the same time, who are arguably Liverpool's 3 most important players. I still think Rafa will turn things around though, and I also think that Aquilani will come good. He's a quality, quality player and he'll show that over the course of the next month or so.
  19. You're right, that is bloody hilarious. Ha. Ha. Ha. Haha. Ha.
  20. I agree with everyone else really, CM and CF are the priority now. I liked the sound of Mifsud when he was mentioned on another thread, he's still on a free and supposedly training with us with a view for a 6 month contract. As for CM, i'd be happy with either Danns or Stock, but if I was pushed i'd go for Stock. If we can sign any of those 3 though i'll be very happy.
  21. Otsemoboooooor Otsemoboooooor His arse is sore, His arse is sore Oh Johnny Otsemoboooor

  23. Don't beat yourself up about it Pancake! Sad to hear about the illnesses as well, hope it all turns out okay. Any chance I could do another playlist as well? Quite enjoyed making the first one.
  24. It definitely helps to play each game, but it is very time consuming like you say. As for players, it depends what positions you're looking for. As an attacking formation I like to use just a plain 4-4-2 but with wingers, and it works a treat for me with whatever club I manage. ------GK------- RB--CB--CB--LB ----CM--CM---- RW----------LW -----ST--ST---- A fast paced short passing game also seems to work well, but I see you prefer the more direct style. I would recommend that you look at getting two pacy wingers in with good crossing and/or dribbling attributes, and tell your players to pass to them, and set their target passing style to Run Onto Ball. Lambert ought to put a few away with good service from the wings.
  25. Sh*t man, what is it with all these young musicians dying at the moment? http://www.nme.com/news/jay-reatard--2/49218 RIP Jay, I never really got into his music but a couple of my mates have seen him live before and say he was immense.
