  1. Yeah, he writes for The Guardian, I read his column online sometimes. Not only is he a very funny guy, he's also very intelligent, and could easily be a serious journalist if he wants to, but he prefers p!ssing about making shows about High School Musical where he gets to "mock w*nk" as he calls it about every 20 seconds.
  2. Couldn't agree more, they are all tards of the highest order. Dappy is a f*cking skidmark on the underpants of society.
  3. Nani was absolutely quality for the first goal, and Rooney was brilliant for the second. Man Utd are a shoe-in for the title if they play like this against top half teams.
  4. Not exactly blistering though was he? Maybe he would've been quicker if he had a haircut and a shave, perhaps he would've been more aerodynamic?
  5. This is true, but I changed ML to foreground chairman in the editor, and he literally throws money at you. Had him top up my transfer budget with £6m twice in January. Not quite the approach we're going for with the team IRL, although we are spending a lot of money for a L1 club.
  6. Agree with saint_clark above, Barnard needs a goal to settle himself in. He's looked alright so far, puts himself about a lot and never stops running, but he's had a couple of glorious chances over the last few games and he's not managed to hit the back of the net yet in a Saints shirt. Never mind though, it will come and i'm sure that he'll be a good player for us. Fonte looks very good, very solid and dependable at the back, and he can also apparently be played at centre mid if need be, so that's a nice option to have. Not seen Seabourne play, but he's supposed to be the rough diamond type, so hopefully Pards can shape him into a good player for us. Otsemobor i've not seen either, but I think he's the kind of player that blows hot and cold in that he can be a match winner one game and a liability in the next. Still, it's nice to have a bit of pace in the defence, something we've lacked in the past. Actually, who was the last RB or LB that we had who could be deemed 'pacy'? ??:
  7. Solent said earlier it was a hip/groin injury. Guessing they've heard from a source who's not quite sure or the club aren't sure what the injury is. Whatever it is, I hope it's not serious and won't keep him out for too long. We're short on midfield options as it is.

  9. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Lovely stuff.
  10. Waigo should definitely start against Exeter imo, but what we have to remember is that he is quite inconsistent. Sometimes he'll change a game and sometimes he'll be a passenger. Handle with caution imo, because Antonio seems to be in a bit of a purple patch as well, and with Puncheon, Holmes and Lallana in the squad now we do have a lot of options for wing positions.
  11. We missed him against Ipswich, because we didn't really have any mobility in the team. I think we should play Schneiderlin alongside Lallana. Adz is always moving off the ball and making runs, and potentially those two could be very good together in the middle of the park. Play Wotton behind them if you must to break up the play a bit, but for god's sake don't give him the ball.
  12. Norwich 1-0 down against Hartlepool. EDIT: And then they equalise straight away!
  13. John Terry is a nasty little chav pr!ck, always has been, always will be. Over-rated as a footballer as well imo, I think Rio should be captain, or maybe even Rooney. If Terry has any decency he'll resign from the captaincy and keep a low profile for a while, what kind of rolemodel is he to kids?
  14. Fantastic signing, really chuffed with that! We've been crying out for a wide player on the left for a long time now, and now we have that player in Puncheon I think it will enable Lallana to play a more central role where he is more comfortable. I think we have enough CM options at the club if Gillett stays around. We have Wotton, Gillett, Schneiderlin, Gobern, Lallana and of course, Pulis. While they may not exactly be the best midfielders we have at the club, I think we'll do just fine. I'd play Schneiderlin and Lallana there with Wotton sitting just behind them, Antonio/Waigo on the right with Puncheon on the left and Lambert all up on his lonesome up front.
  15. I think that's called testing the waters, clubs do that all the time by putting in low offers to see another club's valuation of a player so they don't bid too high. He's worth much more than 100k though, I think they were taking the p*ss a bit there. Hamilton aren't exactly flush with cash though. Personally I think he is better than Lloyd James, i'm yet to be impressed by him in a central midfield role, and I wouldn't pick him there over a fully fit Hammond or Schneiderlin. Not saying that James is a bad player, I do rate him, but I do think that he looked better at RB because he just tends to get physically dominated in CM. Not such a big issue if you've got your Wotton type player to bail him out and break a few legs, but I think he could easily get caught out against bigger players.
  16. Saw this on the HCDAJFU thread and thought it deserved a thread of it's own. Jake Thomson has returned to Torquay on loan for the rest of the season. Has anyone seen him play at Torquay or know how he's getting on there? Heard very little about his spell there so would be interesting to find out how he's getting on. Would be interesting to see what people think his role in the team will be now? He was a bit-part player last year but he's had barely any first team action here this season. Does Pardew see him as part of his plans? Is he worth keeping around when we could have players like Antonio and Waigo signed on a permanent basis? Personally I think he's got a good amount of potential but he's 21 or something now, so he's progressed from 'youngster' into the next category of player, so any mistakes can't really be blamed on youth and inexperience. I don't think at the moment he's good enough to be playing at this level, so either another loan spell next season or maybe offload him along with some others at the end of the season. It'd be a shame to see him leave but I think he may have found his level at L1/L2 and can't see him progressing much beyond that level.
  17. Price doesn't necessarily denote quality imo. Look at Heskey, he's being touted around for close to £10m and he's sh*t. Thing is, there aren't many players in the SPL outside the Old Firm clubs that would be worth more than 500k, but I would put Arfield in that category. If you see him play you'll see he's very industrious, good on the ball and a decent ball-winner as well. He's neither a midfield general or your flair-ridden Iniesta type, but he does his job very well and what he gives to a team can be vital at times. I firmly believe he could be a fantastic signing for us at this level, and he could certainly play a big part in the CCC too.
  18. I like bacon.
  19. I'm addicted to Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe at the moment. If you don't know who he is, he's written various things from E4 series Dead Set to cracking comedy Nathan Barley, which he co-wrote with Chris Morris. But i'm sure that people will know who he is. Brooker casts his eye over the world of entertainment with such a level of hilarity and disdain that sometimes I honestly think i'm going to die with laughter. I highly reccommend that you watch it if you've not seen it before, and the episodes are on YouTube if you search for them.
  20. Just drink the pain away my friend, drink the pain away.
  21. And now it's locked At least you didn't get insulted to the point where someone wished that you would get throat cancer and die on your daughter's wedding day. That was a bad day for me. Rasiak-9, if you're reading this, you're a bellend and i'm going to hunt you down. (In a nice way)
  22. I wouldn't say i'm an expert, but I follow the scottish leagues and Scott Arfield is certainly one of the better players outside the Old Firm clubs in the SPL. He's on the verge of a Scotland call-up and was linked with Celtic and Rangers recently I believe, as well as a couple of Championship clubs. £1m may be a little too much for him, but if that's what it takes to bring him here and Markus is willing to spend the money then I say go for it. He won't be a marquee player for this team, but I have every confidence that he'll be a very important player for us if he signs.
  23. Judging by his performance against Stoke the other night he's far from his best at Prem level though. From the highlights it seemed as if he just couldn't cope with Fuller, and he's the kind of player that Sol would've had in his pocket 4 or 5 years ago. I think that he'll retire when his contract with Arsenal runs out (is it at the end of the season?).
  24. Interesting idea with the 'kop end'. Something that this club has lacked since it's days at The Dell imo. Also like the idea of the swipe card system ala Oyster. Looks like the guys we've got at the helm of this club are really prepared to take us to the next level and beyond! COYR!
