  1. Over-reaction to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ3Ltik1evQ&feature=PlayList&p=FC9FCA675FD4E31C&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=50 Very NSFW!
  2. I've been watching Tower Block of Commons on 4OD. It was fascinating to see how these MPs cope with living on deprived estates for a week. Mark Oaten, the Lib Dem MP really impressed me, he seemed to really take notice of the real problems that were on the estate, rather than the Austin bloke from Labour, who just seemed to laugh at everything that was going on. Maybe if a few more big players had got involved then some real changes would happen, as the state of some of the flats were just appalling.
  3. Gunfight
  4. Was rumoured a while back that Wenger had bought him and was loaning him to us for first team experience....probably b0llocks, but he would suit a passing game such as Arsenal's or the one that we play from time to time if the players can be arsed!
  5. What do Aaron Ramsey's leg and Wayne Bridge's relationship with Vanessa Perroncel have in common? ....they've both been destroyed by a defender's tackle. In bad taste, I know, but made me chuckle. Glad to see that Ramsey's operation went well, and let's hope that he makes a full recovery and is back playing football soon!
  6. Supposedly they announced it onstage yesterday, so I guess that they're playing! http://www.glastowatch.co.uk/2010/faithless-self-confirm-for-glastonbury/
  7. You're right, my bad!
  8. Yep, paid mine up a few weeks ago. Faithless self-confirmed today and said that they're playing Sunday. Can't wait for that, they will surely be one of the festival highlights.
  9. Those changes would take my potential winnings from £1916 to £189. Bum. Still, it's only a quid anyway. It's all your fault if I lose...
  10. I should imagine that Ashley will offload the club in the summer when they're back up in the Prem. They've got a decent team, players like Alan Smith can still play in the Prem even if they've not been getting a look-in before (he's their captain now oddly enough). I'm surprised at the quality of players they managed to hang onto actually, Coloccini, Smith, Nolan, Gutierrez, Enrique....they're all good players for Prem teams and far above CCC level.
  11. I don't quite get this accy thing, do all of the results have to come in in order for you to get any money out of it, or do you get less money the less results you get right?
  12. I'm just about to place my very first accumulator bet - i've bet casually on the Grand National before, but nothing like this. Stake isn't very high, i'm only putting a quid on, but it could come in at £1916, so worth a pop! Here are the bets: 02 Mar 2010 - Notts County v Macclesfield - 90 Minutes Draw @ 11/4 03 Mar 2010 - Netherlands v USA - 90 Minutes Draw @ 5/2 02 Mar 2010 - Rochdale v Rotherham - 90 Minutes Rotherham @ 13/5 03 Mar 2010 - Hungary v Russia - 90 Minutes Russia @ 10/11 02 Mar 2010 - Southampton v Huddersfield - 90 Minutes Draw @ 11/5 02 Mar 2010 - Salisbury v Crawley - 90 Minutes Crawley @ 13/8 03 Mar 2010 - Germany v Argentina - 90 Minutes Germany @ 13/10 Shall I go for it? Any bets you'd change?
  13. Real 6 pointer this one, if we win then it takes us a step closer to the play-offs, if we lose then our play-off hopes are basically completely finito. Even if we are sh*t hot at the moment, we cannot under-estimate how motivated Huddersfield will be. Their team is pretty damn good as well, full of good young players. I think it'll be a 2-2 draw.
  14. Hate to say it, but I think he's the most likely to go as well. You can see that he loves the club, you could see how upset he was after the P*mpey game and how he's put his all in this season, but you can also see that he's made to play at a higher level than L1.
  15. I know he's not the finished article yet, but you can see in his game the amazing potential he has. His vision is excellent and he can pick out a pass with pinpoint accuracy from anywhere on the field. With the right mentoring he could easily play in the Prem.
  16. Faithless - Sunday 8PM Just self-confirmed for Glastonbury as well, going to be AMAZING.
  17. We took Brett Ormerod from L1 when we were a club of a similar stature to Newcastle. Newcastle won't be fighting relegation next season, they'll settle straight back into mid-table obscurity.
  18. How sure are you about that? From the way that Liebherr and Cortese have forked out £3m in transfers in L1, I would say that they don't have any problems with money. £30k a week is a hell of a lot, but considering Rickie's already on 24 goals and counting in February, i'd say it's worth it. Without his goals we'd be much further down the league.
  19. If you were Rickie Lambert and Newcastle came in offering you £30k a week and the chance to play at a higher level, what would you do?
  20. Thinking last night that now the play-offs are looking more unlikely, we might be at risk of losing a few players in the summer. I think the players below would definitely be being looked at by other clubs: Adam Lallana - Young, bright prospect and great potential. Rickie Lambert - Established goalscorer, looks to be a class above L1. Morgan Schneiderlin - Fantastic vision, upped his game this season too. Could Wenger come-a-calling? Dean Hammond - Midfield marshall, always working hard. Valuable in any team. Dan Harding - Reliable left back who can also attack down the flank. IMO keeping these 5 players is absolutely integral to our promotion push next season. I doubt that any of our players would want to leave unless their heads were turned by bigger clubs, but a big new contract in the summer for top performers this season could cement their places here in the team for the future.
  21. Hence the 'original plan' in my post. I understand that the goalposts have been moved now, more money has been put into the club and team and thus the team's aims have changed, but the plan was originally just to stay up this season. Pardew said so when he came here.
  22. We've been through this already TDD, original '5 year plan' was... 1st season - Survival in L1 2nd season - Promotion from L1 3rd season - CCC establishment 4th season - Promotion from CCC 5th season - Prem establishment
  23. Crikey, Simeon Jackson has faded fast eh? Has he been injured or something? Glad we didn't fork out the £1m or whatever it was that Gillingham wanted for him when he's been outscored by Ian Harte - a left back playing for Carlisle!
  24. Does Pards have an email address at the club like David Luker etc? Might be a long shot, but if someone can find out if he does then perhaps a few messages of support wouldn't go amiss, and also perhaps a few emails Cortese's way asking for a bit of lenience.
  25. I know, but surely transfers etc could be done within a week or so of the window closing, as the databases have to be released to independent researchers etc. and then given back once changed, but bugs can't really take more than a couple of weeks either, seeing as SI offices have scores of testers. In the past, patches have come out within the first half of February and i've never noticed any problems.
