Said this all through the summer, Yoshida is easily good enough for 3rd choice CB - in fact it was a bit of a shame that he was kept out of the side for so long last season. In our first season he had some absolutely outstanding games - Norwich away being one of them where he kept us in the game with a perfectly timed goal-line clearance.

Well, Real Madrid are looking for a replacement for Xabi Alonso - if Morgan has another season as good as the last one they'll be all over him like seagulls on a bag of chips next summer. In terms of the game today, I feared the worst when we went 1-0 down. Haven't seen any of the action yet because I was at work, but so many times over the last couple of years we've gone a goal down away and never looked like getting back in it - hopefully that may have changed! Pleased for Pelle, he was never going to hit the ground running with the support he was getting from the midfield previously but it seems like we've pushed them slightly higher and our wingers slightly narrower, and it's paying off. Also it's f*cking brilliant to finally beat West Ham again, I was scared that we might have to start playing Jos again to get a goal against them

I've not seen a huge amount of him but from what I have seen I guess you could say he's a similar type of player to Schurrle, just bigger and stronger and not as good.

Bit of both really, he's quite fond of little tricks and flicks that look good on the highlights - not sure how often they come off in a game though! He's not scared of trying to beat his man, but has a good enough delivery that he can put it in from a dead ball too.

Bahoui isn't a bad little player, I watch a bit of the Swedish league (follow Malmo to an extent, mostly Europa League games nowadays) and he does stand out as one of the better players. Very strong, quite a big guy for a winger and has a good delivery on him. Think he has a bit of a reputation in Sweden for set-pieces as well. For the right price he'd be a decent signing, but I think he'd be more of a squad option than a regular starter.

He's a good player though, know a Swindon fan at work and he says they're pretty gutted he's not gone back there for the season. I think he's about as good as Jos tbh, he can also play the 'anchor' role in the midfield as well.

Well, there have been separate rumour threads about pretty much all our incoming and outgoing deals this summer. I think with regards to the Long deal it was a relatively quick journey from the story breaking to him signing, but if it had run for longer before he put pen to paper there probably would've been a separate thread. Good to see that you've given adequate time to judge Long then. He didn't train during the week as he had a knock, so can't really judge him as a player purely on today. Don't think the formation we played early on helped either, and Koeman acknowledged that.

Alderweireld would be a brilliant signing for us, he's a CL quality defender and a better player than Lovren as well imo. Can also play RB so will shut up those people moaning about a lack of cover there! Him and a winger and I would be happy with our signings this window.
