To be fair i'm not a big fan of the Tories (say whaaaaaat?) but Davidson does always put in a good performance whenever I see her on Question Time or on Leader's debates. I don't think she's directly in line for the leadership throne because of the other 2 I mentioned before but I can definitely see her becoming Tory leader in the future if she carries on in politics.

Well, Cameron has said that if he doesn't become PM after this election then he'll step down as leader of the Tories so a change at the top could prompt some voters to come back to them. Having an affable charismatic guy like Boris "Watermelon Smile" Johnson or a stern authoritarian like Theresa May in charge of leading another election campaign will bring some new blood to the party meaning that they may be able to win a majority - especially if it's proven that Labour couldn't form a stable government without support from the SNP which has proven to be very divisive.
-
I think they'd be able to get a majority of 1 vote if it's clear that the government won't work. If it's clear that any Labour proposals being passed will be reliant on support from the SNP for example, they may well have MPs from within the party voting no confidence so as to not bow to the SNP. It's not unfeasible.

Lord Duckhunter to the thread, paging Lord Duckhunter. At least something interesting is finally happening in Basingstoke. About bloody time..

Like I said, given that they've polled at a maximum of 276 seats to this point in their campaign (which has been a p!ss poor effort as well) I don't think even the floating voters will gain them more seats than they have now. I could maybe see them coming in at around 290 or so but no more. Fully prepared to have this shoved in my face on Friday morning but this whole thing has been a disaster for the Tories from start to finish and I don't see them coming away from this smiling. As for my prediction, Labour to form a minority government with support from Lib Dems & others which will last a year tops before another election is called. Call Me Dave to resign from his post as Tory leader and either Boris or Theresa May to take his place. Tories to be forced more to the right in order to prise back vote from UKIP.
-
I know there are a lot of floating voters that may be tempted to go Conservative at the polls, but there aren't enough marginal seats to cover an additional 30 for them. They'll increase their vote share on what they're polling at now, undoubtedly, but I don't think they'll get enough seats to form a coalition. I think we're almost certain to get a minority government and probably another election within 12 months.
-
Ok, where shall I start... - Lib Dems have categorically ruled out entering a coalition with UKIP (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/election-2015-lib-dem-leader-nick-clegg-rules-out-coalition-ukip-snp-1497307) - The highest that the Tories have polled at in the last month or so would give them 276 seats max. Unsure where the extra 30 or so you're predicting will come from. (http://www.theguardian.com/politics/ng-interactive/2015/feb/27/guardian-poll-projection) - Support for UKIP seems to be fairly centered in the South East, mostly Kent. Don't think they poll too well north of the Watford gap so unlikely we'll see them come 2nd anywhere outside that region. - The SNP gobbing off will almost certainly happen - Caroline Lucas is almost certain to retain Brighton Pavillion and it looks like Darren Hall may take Bristol West as well.

I dream of that day

I think demographically I still count as a young'un on this forum 24 in December though, i'm basically a pensioner now.

In which case i'd like to see Winchester, Totton and Hamble promoted through the play-offs. Forgot you can't like a club that aren't based within 10 miles of the team you support.
-
Brentford - Like their approach, good core of young English players and good manager (although he's offski in the summer) Sheff Utd - Traditional club, much bigger than L1 level Plymouth - They've had a rough time, would like to see them succeed. Always good to have more high level clubs on the South Coast, Skates letting us all down atm..

Not everything is left vs right Hypo. Do try and see that. This message was brought to you by the Patronising Leftie Message Board Post generator.

That segregated rally is disgusting, can't endorse that kind of discrimination. Funny that certain people seem to think that "lefties" won't have a problem with it because it's a Labour convention though - not everyone is so blinded by party politics. RE: Russell Brand as well - I doubt he's in the pocket of the Labour party. If you listen to his justification for his support of them it's because Miliband says that he will pay more attention to grassroots activism of which Brand is a big supporter and advocate. I'm sure he'd probably prefer to throw his support behind the Greens (if anyone watched his interview with Natalie Bennett & Caroline Lucas, you'd see he clearly relates to them and he actually told people to vote for Lucas in Brighton) but asking people to vote Labour is a much more realistic way to get rid of the Tories, especially as they would need the support of other MPs in the Commons to pass their bills so they would have to skew a lot of proposals to the left so that the likes of the SNP, Lib Dems, Greens etc will vote for them and pass them.

Blue - the yellow kit was only brought in because our blue kit would (apparently) clash with Newcastle's home shirt.
-
They'd still be 11 seats short of forming a coalition going on today's polling. If we're going to see a minority government after this election it'll be Labour as the Commons will be considerably left-leaning in constitution with Labour, LD, SNP, Green, SDLP & Plaid MPs there. Conservative & UKIP would be the only real right-leaning parties represented, although some Lib Dems would probably still go along with the Tories on some issues so as to not undermine the last 5 years of coalition and some Labour MPs may go against the grain on economic matters as well.

You can't take it with you Whitey, you know that. Rather give a percentage of my cash when I die to the government than have my future kids spunk it up the wall on strippers and coke. Actually, on second thoughts..
-
Ssssh whelk, you're not supposed to know that! Labour is evil and responsible for all the bad things like running out of toilet paper and baby unicorns dying and stuff. Tories float in the breeze on policy like an empty plastic bag.

I always saw him as more of a Ramdeuter -
With all the Soccer AM sponsorship cash they're raking in they can probably afford him.

I particularly enjoyed this comment in response to a guy saying he'd rather be in our or Bournemouth's position right now: I'm sure the distant memory of their glorious 2008 FA Cup win against the Championship's mighty Cardiff City is keeping them warm when they entertain behemoths of modern football such as Mansfield and Newport on cold Tuesday evenings at Fartton. The fact that they've managed to carry on that momentum so well is truly incredible to behold, although the momentum may be carrying them downwards faster than particularly heavy sh!t dropping out of the ar5e of a seagull.

Mervyn's obviously been reading this thread as I suggested the same thing a few pages back! Almost every country on the face of the planet was deeply affected by the crash so to suggest the blame lies entirely at the feet of Labour when a range of political parties and ideologies suffered similarly is a bit of a stretch.

Close season 2017, playing devil's advocate

I think the SWF residents would be unhappy if Paul Tisdale wasn't mentioned in the list of potential candidates.
