Wow! What a complete shock that no one could have seen coming. They'll offer something piss poor then in the summer rely on Charly trying to force the move.

On a side note, see Oriol Romeu is fast becoming a fan favourite at Barca, a lot of their fans were understandably underwhelmed when he signed but by all accounts he hasn't put a foot wrong since being there and allows the midfield to bomb forward knowing he's there to cover. Great seeing him in the Champions League too! Miss him

Does this mean a return of the nuns? 🙏

Another vote for Leandre Griffit. Had seen him in the B team or whatever it was called back then and he was quality. Then scores a cracker against Blackburn, was sure he was going to be huge. He's still clearly very fond of Saints based on his Twitter. Notable mention for Federico "The Torpedo" Arias. Was meant to be insanely fast and talented with both feet. Don't think he ever played in the first team.

So assuming we have in the region of £30-35m to spend on an attacker, which player would you like to see us go for? Who would be a realistic target?

I know 😓 Changed it on twitter but was too slow to edit on here. Still, you get the gist

Weirdest moment of the night was feeling completely unfazed that Moussa was coming on in defence to replace Perraud.

I was wondering if him bulking up is a deliberate move to make him a bit more solid at CB, that being said he did slow down and cramp up so maybe there is a bit of fitness lacking there too 🤷♂️

Few notes from the game 1. First half we were definitely trying to draw them on to us at the back with slow passes, once they pushed forward to press us we were then playing much faster balls forwards with quick one and two touch movements. Imagine this tactic will be used in some of the tougher early games. 2. We played mostly with 3 CBs then the wingbacks really pushing high. The 3 CBs played pretty far apart when we were on the ball, narrowing up when we lost possession. Was interesting to see Stephens and Valery almost out at LB/RB positions. 3. A. Armstrong is so clearly a confidence player, couple of poor touches early on but once he had a couple of better moments, he was transformed and became much more effective. 4. Aribo is quality, doesn't matter if there's 2 players tight to him, head is up and working out options. Made a great tackle tracking back too, really solid. 5. Diallo looks much better playing in a midfield 3 6. Glad we didn't splash out on Minamino, lots of running but not a lot else.

Players I was over excited about: - Leandre Griffit (especially after his debut goal) - Federico Arias. 'The Torpedo'. - Delgado, was going to be top scorer in the Prem Players I was less than enthused about us signing: - Danny Ings - Didn't really inspire much during the initial loan here - Mané - "Too lightweight and always offside" - Beattie - Was just put out by us giving them Kevin Davies

Echo saying KWP, Sali and Moi all being assessed with injury worries. Salisu the most important to have fit I think. Perraud and Tino can cover KWP, and Redders looked lively last night so wouldn't mind him coming in for Moi.

Re Broja, I really can’t see us signing him on a permanent. He signed a new 5 year contract with Chelsea just before coming to us, they obviously rate him highly and with their current striker situation he probably wouldn’t be far off the first team currently. I think our best chance of keeping him would be if they bring in another new striker pushing Armando further down the pecking order. Our best hope may be to get him on another seasons loan in the summer then go from there. I think the 2 lads from City seem more likely, both highly rated but unlikely to be regular first team fixtures any time soon. Give it a couple seasons we could have one of the youngest teams in the league with some of the hottest young property, exciting times!!

Oh and Henri Camara if loans count!

Senegal is a bit of a mixed bag : Mane, Papa Waigo and Ali Dia

Knowing how much Wolves pick up in the second halves of games I was a bit worried going in 0-0 at the break. Would have taken the result before the game but in the end can feel a little disappointed. Really pleased for Theo to get off the mark and will hopefully do his confidence some good and we'll see a few more. Che just gets better and better each game, his passing and vision has been immense recently. If that second goal goes in I think we manage the game out for the win, as it was, we started to look a little leggy and wolves managed to capitalise on a mistake. Hopefully other teams don't adopt the "play it neat and tire us out then strike later in the game" tactic as we do tend to struggle when teams sit back and invite us on to them. Overall a good display against a tough opponent. Looking forward to Utd, just have to make sure we get 2 to counter their inevitable penalty.

Wolves have been a bit of a mixed bag this season. Didn't look great against Newcastle but are always going to be a threat going forward. Hopefully RB will be back, don't fancy Stephens or Vokins facing off against Traore (even if his form hasn't been what it was last season).

Was looking forward to this one! The blog name always serves as a great reminder of just how far we have come!

Can't post images but the women's team kit in the second picture looks so much nicer with the red sponsor. Hadn't noticed the difference in the promo video.

Top work as ever Billy!!

Bale used to do a 360 jump with one arm up when he was with us IIRC. Pre silly love heart celebration.

Annoyingly, although we would all love to see Lallana get all the abuse he deserves in some Galatasarayesque atmosphere, it's just not going to happen. There will be some booing when his name is read out and then the usual "w*nker, w*nker, w*nker" the first few times he touches the ball.
