Right OK, didn't realise that. Scrap my theory then!
-
It wouldn't surprise me if the deal was announced tomorrow. The media team will be pre-occupied covering tonight's friendly, writing match reports, editing pictures for the match gallery etc. Would make sense for it to be officially confirmed in the morning.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7908322/Ajax-eye-Rovers-star Ajax interesting in taking reported Saints target Scott Dann on a season-long loan. I have a feeling Dann is on our wanted list. Time will tell! -
Although I sense your post is made in jest, Saints have reportedly offered Forecast to Gillingham as part of this deal.
-
I can only assume we're not interested in him. At £1.5m, he's very affordable and would surely be willing to talk to us if a bid for his services was accepted? Maybe Steven Davis was our number one target for centre-midfield, and since his arrival, we've moved on?
-
I'd be surprised if he ended up at Swindon, as I feel he's more than capable of doing a job in the Championship. It's a shame he spent much of last season injured, as the partnership he formed with Lambert in the latter part of our League One promotion campaign was at times formidable. Not to mention that he scored some crucial goals for us over the past few years. I'm certain he'll be plying his trade elsewhere in the not too distant future, but wherever he ends up, I wish him all the best.

Saints have a good relationship with Palace officials, and by agreeing a fee with the club first, it saves us having to go to a tribunal. Also, it's possible that Saints wish to stay in Palace's good books as they consider making a formal approach for Zaha. -

Could offer Puncheon too. -
I'd previously intimated that the Buttner deal would be wrapped up today, so apologies if that doesn't come to fruition! My source isn't sure why it's not been announced and is adamant that it's done. Insists it is just a matter of time before it's official.

I'm told Buttner's move is back on and set to be confirmed today (Thursday). -
No from me. Good in his day, but I believe we're aiming for better. What are people's thoughts on James Collins?
-
I would be extremely surprised if Saints, Norwich, Stoke, Everton and FC Sion had not sought legal advice prior to pressing ahead with these signings. These clubs would have to be very confident about winning any potential legal dispute, otherwise the moves make little sense. For what it's worth, I don't see how Green has a case, because surely the players' contracts were with the soon-to-be liquidated Rangers and not the Newco?

Anyone disagree with the assessment inThe Echo - including the leavers?

There's a few more signings to come yet, of that I'm sure. -
I look forward to their pre-season friendly Vs Chelsea. Terry Vs Bridge part II.
-
Am I right in saying that fans get 'points' for purchasing tickets, club merchandise etc. which will be of benefit when trying to get sought after matchday tickets this season? Furthermore, does anyone know how to monitor how many points you've accumulated? Cheers in advance!
-
Out of interest, has anyone seen what the new goalie top(s) are like? On the video on Saints Player, you see a glimpse of Kelvin but nothing more.
-
Have heard we're in talks to sign Jermaine Jenas from Spurs. Loan initially to prove fitness, with a permanent deal to follow. Thoughts?

Confidence is key to every player, especially goalkeepers. Bialkowski had a terrible time against Blackpool, but what do you expect when you've barely played any competitive football in three years? During the early days of his stint at Saints, he showed what he is capable of. If he gets regular first-team football then I'm sure he'll re-build his career and get some consistency. I wish him all the best, and I hope he's a hit at Notts County. Providing he starts well, he should do just fine for them.

Palace and Forest both interested in former Saint David Connolly, according to the Daily Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2158974/David-Connolly-wanted-Crystal-Palace.html -

Nabil is just reporting some stories doing the rounds in the papers this morning. Realistically, we're not going to be looking for another striker now with Rodriguez, Lambert, Sharp and Lee giving us plenty of options. Not forgetting the likes of Barnard and Forte, who I expect to be sold at some point. As far as I know, we've enquired about Mariappa, but nothing more. We've sounded out a whole host of targets, so it's no surprise. Scott Dann, on the other hand, is a very realistic target. -
Can't see it myself.
-
Jack Cork transfer saga, part II. Cork waited to see if there were any other/better offers before committing to us. Likely that Rodriguez is doing the same. The fact it hasn't become public knowledge that another team has had a bid accepted, or that JR has rejected us, is good news. Just sit tight and wait and see.
-
So Gary Hooper has said he wants to play for Barcelona. In other news, Iain Dowie has stated he wants to sleep with Rihanna.
-
Agreed that the Saints Player coverage has improved of late. My only gripe with the new lad is his over-use of the word 'obviously' during interviews. You can tell there's no football to talk about, can't you?

Trippier and Rodriguez.
