  1. If Le Tiss isn't needing the money then perhaps he'd donate all proceeds to the club? Either way, I'm very much looking forward to this. Should prove to be a great read.
  2. Despite his P*mpey connections you have to admit the guy is a good, old fashioned manager. Just look at what he's doing at Spurs! The main problem during his time here was that he never really wanted to be here, it was more of an 'up yours' gesture to Mandaric. If he genuinely wanted to be here and had his heart in it, then maybe, just maybe we would be in a very different situation now.
  3. Beat Wolves 2-1 and get spanked 4-0 by Reading. You heard it here first.
  4. I don't know about anyone else but 'proactive' always winds me up.
  5. I think it's very harsh to criticise Pekhart when really he hasn't had a decent chance to prove himself. If we were playing 4-4-2 then I have no doubt he'd form a strong partnership with McGoldrick. I even believe he could do a job in the lone striker role but DMG seems to have made that his own.
  6. At 80-1 that might be worth a quid or two!
  7. We can't, but apparantly some still can. I see Paddy Kenny's new contract at Sheff Utd is set to be worth a reported 26K a week! Unreal amount of money for any side in this division to be paying IMO.
  8. If a decent offer were forthcoming for Rudi then there is no doubt in my mind that he'd be sold in a flash. However, whilst he's focused and concentrating on his performances, then I'm more than happy for him to stay and be in the side. There were a couple of instances during the Coventry game where Rudi swung in a really decent cross, and it was just a little reminder of what he can do when at his best. I feel that IF, and it's a big if, he does stay for the whole season, then he could prove to be a very useful player for us.
  9. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4462559,00.html Not sure he's what they need right now but all the best to him anyway! Whilst I was never a fan of Powell's during his time here, I'm surprised he hasn't already found another club.
  10. Just saw this too . . . http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3815525.Lallana_vows__I_ll_fight_for_Saints_place/
  11. I'd be tempted to give the 11 that turned the game around at Preston the nod to start with Lallana on the bench. It wouldn't do Lallana any harm to have a slightly longer rest and then we can always bring him on if things aren't going our way.
  12. I can't see us keeping Cork beyond this season but fingers crossed we strike a deal to extend his loan until the end of the current campaign. I'm sure Cork would be more than happy to do so and Chelsea are likely to accept this proposal as he's been playing reguarly and doing well for us too.
  13. I was given a home shirt signed by all the first team from this season and am still struggling to work out all the signatures even now! Hopefully this thread will help somewhat.
  14. . . . Saints came from 2 down to go on and take the 3 points? The last occasion that springs to mind was the 4-2 victory over Fulham at St Mary's. Beattie scored a hat-trick. Anyone know of a more recent match?
  15. Every Saints player that swaps shirts at the end of a game or throws it into the crowd now has to pay £50 to replace it from their own pocket! However, after today's result I doubt any of them will care!
  16. Unreal. Struggling to remember the last time Saints went 2 down to turn it round and get the 3 points. Possibly Fulham at home when Beattie scored a hat-trick? Should do wonders for the confidence and fingers crossed we can follow it up with another win against Bristol City.
  17. I've seen this lad a few times and he is definitely one for the future. Very physical CB who wins most things in the air which is always helpful! Still a long way to go before we see him in the first team but he's one to watch.
  18. Have seen this lad play on numerous occasions and from that I think he'll do a good job for us. Hopefully this signing will free up Cork to play at RB as James is really struggling there at the minute.
  19. Very frustrating all in all. First half we played pretty well and should have been in front, but once again we lacked that cutting edge in front of goal. When we did eventually take the lead in the second half we seemed to stop playing and looked very nervy at times. It was only a matter of time before Cov got back into it. I thought Euell and Skacel both did well considering how long they've been out of the first team for, and I thought Surman was particularly impressive too. He worked very hard in the middle and you could see him trying to drive the team on. Another solid performance from Davis, and good to see McGoldrick on the scoresheet after coming under-fire from certain sections of the St Mary's faithful. It is however, starting to get very frustrating and annoying having to see us play pretty well and yet come away with only a point. We really need to start picking up more points and fast, otherwise we're in for a struggle. Fingers crossed we pick up 3 points at Preston on Saturday, but I won't be expecting anything. In fact, I'd happily take a point. Tonight was very much an improvement from Swansea, but there is still plenty of work to be done.
  20. If Lowe was simply in the dressing-room to inform the players of the current financial situation and reassure them then that is absolutely fine by me. However, if he was there to give a team-talk and instruct players on the football side of things, then he has crossed the line and there should be cause for concern. The problem is, we will undoubtedly never know and so there is very little we can do about it.
  21. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10786 Last paragraph of that article indicates that Stern may play again on Saturday. Here's hoping anyway! I'd be gutted if we let Stern go, we could really do with his presence upfront at the minute. Not to mention the fact he's a proven goalscorer at this level. As for Bialkowski, well he's got alot of potential and has shown signs of promise in the past but not of late. Maybe a move would be best for all concerned.
  22. Forward the idea onto the ticket office and see what response you get. You don't know if you don't ask, although I'd be surprised to see Saints agree to anything like this.
  23. Good effort, happy with a point. Would have taken that at the start anyway! Seems as though Olly 'took one for the team' so maybe not a bad thing after all. A solid defensive display which is encouraging. Still a long way to go but it's a start. Bring on Swansea.
  24. Good effort lads, will take that. Lets hope we can go into Saturday's game and get something too.
  25. Could do with Wotton being thrown on to kill some time and for his experience.
