The most important question has yet to be asked if we groundshared with them lot down the road . . . What colour would the seats be painted?

http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Football/Championship/VideoIndex/0,,12555,00.html?mvnAssetId=3203775 For those that want to watch again. Still can't believe how Euell got a red for that!
-
I beg to differ. It's the sort of tackle that the FA will back the referee on as they'll argue that, according to the rule book, the challenge warrants a red. However, this is where MOST refs would have used their common sense and realised that Euell deserved, at the very most, a yellow card.
-
Agreed. Those figures make for pretty grim reading. It's going to be a long wait before attendances start to pick up again.
-
Gobern has great potential but isn't ready for the first-team just yet IMHO. He would benefit greatly from a loan out to a League 1 side but that's very unlikely.
-
I think you'll find your wish will come true in January . . . Watch this space.
-
Old news mate. Keep up!
-
Absoultely gutted. The ref was abysmal and Euell's challenge was never worthy of a red. After some sloppy defending we came back into the game well and really could/should have got a point. The spirit and effort from the lads was there for all to see. If we continue to play in this way for the remainder of the season then there's NO WAY we'll get relegated. Having said that, we do need to start picking up points, and fast. I know it's starting to sound like a broken record, but it WILL come. Keep the faith.

I'm all for this RESPECT campaign but it needs to be earnt. Today, the ref deserved all the abuse he received IMHO. Terrible display. And to think I thought he was doing well up until the sending off . . .
-
Give the guy a chance. It's harsh to judge him before he's even kicked a ball. Whilst his CV isn't that great, the lad deserves a chance to prove himself. If he turns out to be absolute cack then so be it, but criticising him before he's made an appearance is foolish. Personally I don't think he'll do anything for us, but I would love to be proved wrong. Maybe a fresh start playing in a youthful side will bring out the best in him. Only time will tell.

2-1 Saints. That's not a typo either, I genuinely think we'll win. Not sure why but stranger things have happened in football!
-
Fair point, but I'd argue that Perry would have the same problems trying to deal with Adebola's strength and power. After all, Perry is hardly a big, physical CB.
-
I was thinking exactly the same after I'd written that post. On paper, that's a half decent side and you'd expect us to be alot higher up the table than we currently are. Unfortunately though, games aren't played on paper!
-
For some reason I just think we're going to win 2-1. That's where my positivity ends though, as a heavy defeat is on the cards at Reading IMO!

Ok, lets have a thread that moves away from all the talk about off-the-field issues. What do you think the starting 11 will/should be for tomorrow? For me, I'd go with the following . . . ----------------------- Davis ---------------------- Cork ------- Lancashire -------- Pearce -------- Skacel ---------- Schneiderlin ------ Euell ----------------- McGoldrick ---------- Lallana ------------- Surman ------------------- Robertson ---------------------- Subs: Bialkowski, Perry, Wotton, Gobern, Pekhart
-
Great answer! Just about clears that one up. Cheers for that.

I am very much hoping for a Saints win tomorrow, and for some reason I think we'll do it. Surely if results on the pitch improve then off-the-field matters mean nothing. If we're winning reguarly and pushing for promotion, would anyone really care who was in charge of the club? I'm not a Lowe fan at all, far from it actually, but it seems to me that because results haven't been too good of late, people point the finger solely at Lowe without suggesting a reasonable alternative. You only have to see the reaction on here after the Derby game to realise what a win can do for confidence. Those 3 points were considered the 'turning point' of our season and at that time, no-one seemed to give two hoots about Lowe. If things on the pitch improve, then all boardroom matters will take a backseat.
-
What has happened to him? Suddenly he just hasn't been involved in the first-team. Is he injured, dropped or just rested? The cynical part of me thinks we may not be playing him due to an appearance fee we can't afford.
-
Good move for both White and Southampton. White needs to be playing reguarly to improve and gaining some valuable first-team experience is essential. Hopefully he'll do well there, come back to us full of confidence and then we should start to reap the rewards.
-
My Reading prediction has gone from 4-0 to 6-0 after realising we'll be without Pearce.
-
I actually quite like it. One problem though, if you click the link to view the league table in full, you are taken to a pre-match article for a reserve game back from when Burley was in charge! All about Bialkowski making a 'low-key return'. Bit odd really.
-
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10896 As it says on the tin really. Shame he's not ready for Saturday as we could really do with him! Lets hope he's fit in time for Reading instead.
-
Would be a little surprised by this as Surman is hardly a Stoke signing. Not only is he a half decent footballer, but he's not that strong in the tackle either. If this did happen, then I can imagine Surman rejecting the move with a certain Lowe 'encouraging' him to leave as we need the money.

I'm convinced that he took the job as a way of getting back at Mandaric. The fact that he ended up rejoining Portsmouth and 'kissed and made up' with Mandaric is all the more astonishing.
