  1. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_4739228,00.html A host of clubs are checking on Swansea star Owain Tudur-Jones, skysports.com understands. The likes of Southampton, Charlton, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Millwall, Leicester and Milton Keynes Dons are all believed to be keen on the Welsh international. Tudur-Jones has now made a full recovery from the knee injury which saw him write off almost two seasons after making such a positive start to his professional career. However, the player has seen his opportunities at Swansea limited this year with Swans boss Roberto Martinez preferring the likes of Ferrie Bodde, Leon Britton and Darren Pratley in the middle of the park. Now because of his lack of opportunities, despite Bodde's recent injury, Tudur-Jones is set to seek a new challenge in order to secure first-team football which will help him maintain his international career.
  2. Would be a good signing IMO. He is exactly what we need right now. Someone with experience, leadership and an all round good character. Not to mention the fact that he was top draw for us whilst on loan here. Oh and can I be the first to say . . . Oooh Christian Dailly, You are the love of my life. Oh Christian Dailly, I'd let you **** my wife. Oh Christian Dailly, I want curly hair too! Here's hoping this rumour turns out to be true!
  3. Was having a similar discussion earlier, saying how much I hate all the lies and bull**** that the fans are supposed to believe. Even from that lot down the road, saying that Defoe is 'ill' today and so missed training. I think everyone knows Defoe wants to go and just won't train until he's been sold, but why not just say that? As for the Saga thing, well I think that they may be preventing him from being cup-tied so that any potential suitors aren't put off. Still, I'd rather the club just owned up and admitted this. All the lies are just boring and most fans are able to see through them!
  4. I reckon the team might look something like this, but it is dependant on a number of things . . . ----------------------- Davis ------------------------ James ----- Lancashire ----- Perry ----- Skacel/Molyneux ------ Schneiderlin/Gobern --- Gillett/Surman --------- Smith ---------------- McGoldrick ----------------- Holmes ---------------- Paterson/Saganowski ------------------ Saints may not want Skacel being cup-tied as it could put off potential suitors. Schneiderlin may not be fit in time, same with Surman. Also, Smith and Saganowski might not get clearance in time.
  5. Cork's gone to Watford. What with Brendan Rogers being their manager now, and with his Chelsea connections, it's hardly surprising.
  6. You heard it here first! Will be announced officially very shortly. Absolutely gutted about this. It's a massive blow to lose Cork but with Brendan Rogers' Chelsea connections it's hardly a surprise.
  7. Whilst I'm not ecstatic that we've signed Smith, giving him a 6 month contract isn't a bad idea as it means he has to work hard and improve if he wants a longer deal. As for Molynuex, well people have been asking for us to sign a LB and now we have people are still unhappy! Yes he's young and untried at this level, but I've seen him play a few times and he looks a decent prospect. With this signing, it would appear that Skacel's move to Ipswich is still set to go ahead.
  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/watford/7806312.stm Can't help but think this is the kind of player we should be after on loan. I do hope Lowe allows Poortvliet to bring in some defenders because at the minute we're very stretched.
  9. Oh ****. Surely Rupes will back Poortvliet by allowing him to bring in another defender on loan? Without Pearce our options at the back are very limited.
  10. Would be an ideal solution to our lone striker role. Holds the ball up brilliantly and brings others into play. The likes of Lallana would certainly benefit from playing alongside Harewood. However, it just won't happen! Harewood's wages are bound to be too much for us and he doesn't fit in with the young and unproven policy we have!
  11. If Saga has the passion and the desire to play for us then that can only be a good thing. With Pekhart returning to Spurs and Robertson leaving, we actually have very few options up top. Maybe McGoldrick in the hole with Saga as the lone striker could work? Or even Saga out wide right? One thing is for sure, a fully fit Saga would provide a massive boost to us.
  12. Good to hear that we've extended Pearce's loan. Hopefully we can keep hold of him until the end of the season too as we need his presence at the back.
  13. Have heard there may be some more changes due to injury! Will have to wait and see I guess.
  14. THE TEAM FOR PLYMOUTH HAS CHANGED SINCE MY LAST POST! We are now set to start with the following . . . ----------------------- Davis ---------------------- James ------- Lancashire ------- Cork ------- Skacel --------------- Gillett ----- Surman ---------------- Smith --------------- Lallana ------------- Holmes ------------------- Robertson --------------------- It's not the first time the team has changed last minute and probably won't be the last. Poortvliet has decided to rest a few people and it's good to see McGoldrick has been taken out of the firing line. Still unsure as to why Pearce isn't involved. Maybe we aren't extending his loan deal? Still, here's hoping for 3 points!
  15. THE TEAM FOR PLYMOUTH HAS CHANGED! We are now set to start with the following . . . ----------------------- Davis ---------------------- James ------- Lancashire ------- Cork ------- Skacel --------------- Gillett ----- Surman ---------------- Smith --------------- Lallana ------------- Holmes ------------------- Robertson --------------------- As I mentioned in my first post, the team has been known to change last minute and it appears it has happened again. Still, here's hoping for 3 points!
  16. At the time of writing, the team for Plymouth is set to be . . . ----------------- Davis ----------------------- James ----- Perry ----- Lancashire ----- Skacel ------------ Cork ----- Surman --------------- Lallana ------------ Euell -------------- Holmes ----------------- McGoldrick ------------------ However, changes may be made last minute, something that has been known to happen in the past. Also, Ryan Smith and Anthony Pulis are both set to feature on the bench. As for Alex Pearce, I'm not too sure but I'm hoping he plays ahead of Perry. Only time will tell and all I'm doing is passing on what I've heard. Oh and Merry Christmas to all and fingers crossed for 3 points on Boxing Day!
  17. Edit - just seen a few articles about this. My bad!
  18. Where did you hear that from?
  19. Considering it is very likely that Lallana will be off in January, and seeing as people have been criticising him of late, can I assume that there won't be any negative posts should he leave!?
  20. As inconsistent as Dyer can be, if he got his head down for us then he could prove to be a useful player on the right side. With Holmes on the left and Dyer on the right, we'd be much more balanced as a team when attacking and our fortunes may improve. Still, all this is assuming Robertson goes back and Dyer returns to Saints. Only time will tell I guess.

    Pearce

Pearce is worth signing IMO. We certainly need his prescence both defensively and when attacking with set-pieces. Not sure if Reading would be willing to sell mind, and whether or not Pearce wants to stay is another thing. Finances may well play their part also, but only time will tell. I would hope we were able to extend his loan at the very least.
  22. In defence of Poortvliet, we DID play 2 upfront for the majority of the 2nd half. Euell was quite clearly playing alongside McGoldrick and then BWP when he replaced David. However, that article doesn't make for good reading as it does make Jan sound clueless. Fair play to him for his honesty though. I know a few managers who would try to pull the wool over fans eyes after today's performance, but Jan did admit we were second best throughout and deserved to lose.
  23. That Lloyd James article is a joke. To say that today was 'just one of those days' is quite clearly more spin from the OS. I have to admit, one thing I do like about Poortvliet is his honesty, saying we didn't deserve to win and were second best.
  24. I was saying to my ol man that the main reason I haven't been too negative about Saints of late is due to the fact that, whilst results haven't always been good, we have played decent football but not taken our chances. Today, however, there was no movement, no desire and no passion. We were second best throughout today and if we continue to perform like this then, as much as I hate to say it, relegation is a certainty. We need to step it up big time for Plymouth.
  25. Poor from start to finish today. We were outmuscled, outplayed and outclassed all over the pitch. I'm not sure what, but something needs to change because if we continue in this vein of form, then relegation is a certainty.
