  1. My Saints XI: ------------------ Boruc ----------------- Yoshida ---- Fonte ---- Forren ---- Clyne ------- Schneiderlin ----- Cork ---------- Puncheon ----- Lallana ----- Rodriguez ---------------- Lambert ----------------- Subs: K. Davis, Richardson, Hooiveld, Ward-Prowse, S. Davis, Guly, Mayuka. Much more likely that Hooiveld will retain his place in the starting XI alongside Fonte. Failing that, Cork could move to right-back with S. Davis coming in to partner Schneiderlin. Puncheon deserves a recall having been unfortunate to miss out in recent weeks, whilst Lallana can pull the strings from a more central position - getting him on the ball could be key to our chances. Losing Fox and Ramirez limits our options from the bench, but still enough about us to give Spurs a run for their money and right the wrongs from West Brom defeat.
  2. We were due a disappointing defeat/performance having gone six unbeaten. But, this Saints side has earned our backing and faith. Am confident we'll get one point from Tottenham & Sunderland away, followed up with a home win against Stoke on the final day of the season. Four points from nine would be a decent return from our final three fixtures & is more than enough to ensure Premier League survival.
  3. Luke Shaw out today with foot in a cast. Out for up to 10 days. Should return for Sunderland away.
  4. Am missing my first game of the season today! If anyone stumbles across a stream for the fixture, let us know! Come on you Saints!
  5. Mark Lawrenson, is that you?
  6. I have two spare tickets for this one. Send us a PM if you're interested and we'll work out logistics. Face value, of course.
  7. Scoreline flattered Newcastle, but they probably edged it and deserved the win. Introduction of Fox turned the game in the hosts' favour - no complaints about the penalty but Hooiveld own goal was shocking. Referee Chris Foy was poor, no major decisions wrong but very picky and gave needless free-kicks/bookings. Overall, an OK performance but disappointed not to come away with a point. QPR is huge now - still believe we'll be alright. Keep the faith.
  8. Damage limitation for me. Not normally so pessimistic, but I just can't see us getting anything from the game - and I'm going! Hoping to be proved wrong though.
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2259795/Southampton-consider-Christian-Gross-Roberto-Di-Matteo.html Can only hope this is pure speculation and nothing more. Remain fully behind Adkins and the team, and wouldn't want either of these two taking over in any case! In Adkins I trust, but do you?
  10. Big fan of Billy, both as a person and a footballer, and I'd welcome him back here next season. That said, if Forest are willing to pay £4m to secure his services then that would be a great deal for us. Signed for around £1.8m, scored the goals to get us over the line in our promotion bid and then sold on for more than double. THAT'S how to do business!

  12. Absolutely this. Also, the importance of self-belief and confidence that has come about from stringing a few decent results together cannot be under-estimated.
  13. Agreed. IMO, they should mean more if anything. Stevenage away is hardly the most desirable of away days - no disrespect intended!
  14. Firmly believe Davies would thrive at Saints under Adkins, should this one come to fruition. Good player who would improve our defence IMO. Ball-playing centre-half too. Would also be great just to hear big Dave Merrington try and commentate when Davis, Davis and Davies are all playing!
  15. Genuinely delighted for Billy and Jade. Welcome baby Leo!
  16. There's definitely interest in Robinson from us, although how serious I couldn't say. I know he's being / has been monitored for a while now. As for Sanchez, that one is new to me and would be an interesting move. Roll on January!
  17. Have heard we're keeping tabs. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/8295298/Premier-League-clubs-monitoring-Paul-Robinson-s-situation-at-Blackburn-Rovers
  18. Happy with that. Only concern is that we looked a little tired and leggy during the second half on Wednesday - I hope the players have recovered suitably ahead of this one. Fully trust Adkins and his judgement however. He's with the players day in, day out and will know best!
  19. Liverpool 2-2 Saints Suarez (15mins) and Enrique (64mins) for them. Lambert double (21mins and 89mins) for us.
  20. Consistency is the key with Punch. He needed no motivation for the game at Loftus Road on Saturday - he was at QPR on loan, didn't feature much and had a point to prove. Point well made. We need to see how he fares over the duration of the season. I certainly wouldn't be against giving him a one or two year extension (assuming he wants to sign), but I'd like to see him turn in those kinds of performances that we saw last weekend on a more regular basis.
  21. Has all the attributes but consistency remains his problem. We've seen in flashes what he's capable of (Reading away) but more often than not he's disappointed. A loan spell away from the club where he can play regularly and rebuild his confidence would suit all parties - I hope he's allowed to leave on a temporary basis, for his sake as much as anyone's.
  22. Can we assume that work on the new training ground has resumed?
  23. Leicestershire.
  24. Adkins wants the players to come away with the first-team for this mini-training camp that they're on ahead of the Swansea game. Nothing more to it than that.
  25. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Hammond was a great servant for us and played a major role in our success over the past few seasons, but unfortunately he's not Premier League quality. He's found his level in the Championship, and a good player he is in that division too. I wish him all the best, but I don't think we'll see him in a Saints shirt again.
