If Svensson was fit then there would be no question about it, he'd be in my side. However, realistically I can't see him returning, especially with his new role as 'assistant head coach'.

Interested to hear what people believe to be the best possible team we can put out. Assume you are under no instructions from those above, have TOTAL control over team affairs and can play who you wish. What would be your Saints XI? For me, it would be the following . . . ------------------ Davis ----------------- James ----- Saiejs ----- Perry ----- Surman BWP ---- Schneiderlin ---- Euell ---- Holmes -------- Saganowski --- McGoldrick ------- I'd go with James at RB purely because there is nobody else! I think Saga and McGoldrick have the potential to form a decent partnership too. I would like to see Lallana play wide right but his lack of discipline in a positional sense lets him down at times. With Wotte saying teams need to be unpredictable with team tactics, we could also line up as follows . . . ------------------ Davis ------------------ James ----- Saiejs ----- Perry ----- Surman ------------------ Euell ------------------- BWP -------------------------------- Skacel ----------------- Lallana ------------------ ------- Saganowski --- McGoldrick --------- On paper, both these sides look pretty decent and you'd think they would be capable of holding their own in this division.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!

Quick question . . . Has Smith moved over to the left wing with McLaggon on the right? Would be much more balanced with that IMO.

Norwich trying to bully us out of the game as has happened so often this season. Lets see if we're up for the fight!
-
We were also 'very poor' at Barnsley . . .
-
Our biggest problem this season has been the inconcsistency of our starting XI. One minute players are starting, then suddenly they are dropped altogether, with no place even on the bench. This has happened on numerous occasions with BWP and Euell too, and can't be good for morale or player's confidence.
-
Ha! Sorry, I meant the latter. My bad!
-
We'll either win 2-1 or lose 3-0. After seeing our starting XI, I fear it may be the former.

Correction, everyone should UNITE during the match. What people do before and after is their perrogative. I have no problems with protests, chanting against Lowe or whatever, providing it takes place prior to and after the game. When the first ball is kicked, we need to be right behind the team, show them our full support and do our bit to help avoid the drop.

To be fair to Wotte, I think he said all the right things and made a good impression. He gave a very open and honest account of the situation, and it's particularly encouraging to hear that he may change formation! Also good to see that the experienced players will play a more prominent role. I mentioned in another thread that we could potentially have a very good spine to the team, with the youngsters being built around it. Could line up as follows . . . ----------------- Davis ------------------ --------- Saeijs -------- Perry ----------- --------- Wotton ------ Euell ------------ ---------- Saga ---- Denneboom? ------ Using our experienced players is likely to give us the best possible chance of avoiding the drop, and if Wotte can get the right blend between youth and experience then we MIGHT just see results improve.

Ricky Sbragia isn't too impressed by Redknapp's comments and has hit out at him once again. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4848777,00.html

One thing I am annoyed about is that there is no information regarding Wotte and his contract. Has he signed a new deal? Or is he on the same contract as before with just a change in job title? Also, who is taking control of the reserves now? I would have thought this article would have been a good chance to clarify Hockaday's position at the club and to let us know more about Svensson's role as a coach too. Having said that, maybe they will tell us more after the press conference later on today so we'll have to wait and see on that one. Still no news on Kim van der Waal either!

This article would suggest Wotte really is permanent . . . http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11269

Traditional English system? He'll struggle to fit in at Saints then!
-
Any reason why?

Not only that, but Swansea have every intention to sign Dyer on a permanent basis at the end of his loan spell. I think the best we can hope for is that his good performances boost his price up somewhat.
-
Whilst I think Leon is far from perfect, he would certainly, IMHO, be a damn sight better than Lowe and Wilde. For starters, we'd probably still have Nigel Pearson at the helm! At least we know Crouch would have the clubs' best interests at heart and he's proven that he's willing to dig into his own pockets to help the club. I don't know how feasible a Crouch return would be, but it would be a step in the right direction, and would even feel as though us fans were starting to get our club back.
-
Be very surprised if this one happens. It didn't work out there for Kelvin first time round and the fans don't hold him in the highest of regards! Not to mention the fact Davis has reiterated he is more than happy to stay at Saints. Having said that, finances may prevent Davis staying! Still, a move back to Sunderland is more than unlikely IMO.
-
Agreed. Hope is the only things us fans have at the minute.
-
Does that mean we're in need of takeover thread number 756483? In all seriousness, appreciate the info FF!

People were getting quite excited about a rumour that Marlon Harewood was coming here on loan, and from the sounds of it, this guy is of a similar mould. If we keep hold of Saga then these 2 could potentially form a good partnership. Only time will tell though! Lets wait and see what happens . . .

Dyer looked quality from what I saw on the highlights, causing the Pompey defence alot of problems. I couldn't help but notice how motivated and determined Dyer appeared to be. If only he could play with the same passion for us! Maybe Nathan will realise his potential at Swansea, which might not be a bad thing for us as could push his price up somewhat. Having said that, I'd be very open to him returning to Saints at the end of the season, assuming we stay up of course.
