I'd be more confident if Crouch had total ownership of the club. However, a clean sweep would be best for all concerned IMO. If Crouch did return though, I wouldn't want him to talk about the past. Only need to look forward.

Will there be people at the Charlton game having a whip round with the buckets? Every little helps after all . . .
-
Good idea, and one that a lot of fans would be willing to contribute to as well. Whilst we wouldn't generate massive amounts, I'm sure any money would be much appreciated by the club.

Fair play Clapham. The more fans that do this the better. Now is the time to put any grudges to one side, get behind the team and do all we can as fans by attending in force and supporting the side.
-
I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. The fact that the share price has dropped to just 9p shows that things aren't looking too good for us. If true, a sad, sad day for the club and us fans, but I really hope this turns out to be nothing more than a rumour.

He's better on tour in fairness as he has a script and doesn't have to come up with comedy on the spot. Frankie Boyle is hilarious on Mock the Week though because he's so quick-witted, but his stand-up stuff isn't as good IMO.
-
Have just got 2 tickets to see Michael McIntyre during his new tour which begins in September. Am very excited, especially if he is as good as he was during his last tour. Has anyone on here seen his most recent DVD? Do you lot rate him as a comedian?

It's not just you, a lot of people are resigned to League One football next season. I'm possibly the most optimistic fan you'll ever speak to, and so there is still a small part of me that believes we can do it. It won't be easy, but three points against Charlton and this board may have a very different feel to it.
-
Add to that the fact we don't have a pot to **** in and this signing was never going to happen. In an ideal world, yes, we would be going for someone like Harewood, but realistically, never in a million years would we sign him.
-
Or was under instructions to field youngsters from those above him . . .
-
A point isn't a disaster considering that our relegation rivals failed to pick up maximum points, but it means that we have to beat Charlton. If we do that and then avoid defeat in our game in hand, things might not look as bad. After being 1 down at half-time, I probably would have settled for a point in truth. It's not over yet, we're still within touching distance, but there is a lot of work to be done!

Doesn't Bialkowski's contract expire in the summer as well?
-
So what's the deal with Poke then? I was under the impression he was on loan at Torquay for the season? As for Bialkowski, it seems a bit strange that he's gone to Ipswich for first-team football. Maybe it's a move to get him off the wage bill? Or maybe he's been allowed to leave so we can free up some wages for a new loan signing? I don't know really, but it's a bit of a weird one!

Fully expect Jake Thomson to deputise in James' absence. Is James not out for 2 games though as yesterday's booking was his 10th of the season?
-
Might not be a bad thing in truth. We've hardly delivered at St Mary's all season and teams are more willing to come forward and have a go at us when we're away from home. This suits our style of play a lot more, as we tend to struggle to break the teams down (Derby and QPR at home) that play with five men across the middle.

Sorry, you might be right, think it was last season on second thought! Still, the very fact that he's played for the Under-21's and is constantly linked with bigger clubs shows that he is doing something right. I just find it very hard to understand how fickle some fans can be. One minute it's a disaster if we lose Surman, now after he's had a few poor games everyone is saying he should be sold at the first possible chance. Whilst he hasn't been 'at the races' so to speak in recent games, you can't fault him for effort. To me, he just looks a little tired and low on confidence. I wonder if the people criticising him would still be on his case had he scored right at the death? I'm not so sure! Just shows how fickle fans can be IMO.
-
Harsh to criticise and single out Surman. Yes, he has been far from his best in recent games, but over the whole season, he's been one of our more consistent performers. Some people seem to forget that he's been called up to the England Under-21's this season, so he must be doing something right. If we were to lose/sell Drew, you can guarantee that people on here will be kicking up a fuss.

Just seen an interview on SSN with Alan Pardew saying how he's wanting to get back into football management. Would people prefer Pardew to Wotte if we stay up? Although he had a bad spell at Charlton, he's done very well elsewhere at both Reading and West Ham.
-
Saints to win 2-0 with goals from Saga and Saeijs. Won't be an easy game though, and with QPR on such a poor run of form this one is a potential banana skin! They have players like Routledge who will cause us problems, and I see they've just signed Taarabt on loan from Spurs too. He's a very useful player but if we give him a kick early doors we should be able to keep him quiet!
-
Good news. They both need to keep a low profile over the coming weeks and focus on their football.
-
Depends on how we go down IMO. If we continue to show the same fight and spirit that has been on display in recent weeks, then I'd consider keeping him. If we start playing poorly and go down without a fight then he's got to go. In all truth, I don't know if there are many alternatives out there that would be a) better than Wotte and b) willing to take the job under the current circumstances.
-
You're not wrong! All the teams in our region are struggling these days. Brighton, Bournemouth, Saints and P*mpey all finding it tough. It was only a few years ago that Brighton were in The Champ, Bournemouth were pushing for playoffs in League One, whilst both Saints and 'those lot down the road' were both doing well in The Prem!
-
If we need a win or a point to stay up on the final day, then we'll sell out our away allocation f'sure. I'll be going either way though!
-
Saeijs or Perry for MOTM. Derby came for a point and got what they wanted. To let in another late goal is a blow but it's not the end of the world, providing we get all 3 points against QPR! Surman could have wrapped the game up for us, but then Davies almost stole the points for Derby with his curling left-footed shot. On the whole, I think a point was a fair result, but in our situation we don't want fair results, we just want 3 points, however they come.
-
With a relatively big crowd expected and Saints in desperate need of a win, I'm going to say either 1 or 2 nil to the hosts. If we put in the same effort as we did during the Preston and Cardiff games, then we should come out on top tonight.
