To summarise: - Wotte has offers from abroad but is waiting for Saints to make a decision on his future. - Wotte and Pinnacle to meet today to discuss bids for Surman and McGoldrick. - Any bids for Saganowski and Rasiak to be considered.

Credit to Marc Jackson if he genuinely was 'close' to securing a deal to buy Saints, and I thank him for his efforts. However, I just don't see how anyone can be taken seriously after watching that interview re: Bournemouth.
-
I'd rather we stayed in England and played some Premiership, Championship and League Two sides. Much more beneficial than heading to somewhere like Sweden and winning each game 12-0.
-
I could just about handle losing Surman to Newcastle, but not to Forest. I really hope this isn't true. In an ideal world, Surman will give us another season, especially now we're (hopefully) going to have new owners and new ambition. He'd be first-class in League One and I'd be gutted to see him go.

This deal was mooted long before that, I can assure you. McGoldrick is pretty keen to return to Nottingham from what I hear. Hopefully the new owners come in and he has a change of heart, but if not, we need to get the best deal and move on. He's a good player, and he'd be fantastic in League One, but he's not irreplaceable.

Confirmed on SkySports website now too. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5358112,00.html

I've been under the impression that McGoldrick has wanted to leave for a while now, and even asked Wotte for a move back in January. If David really wants to go, then all Saints can do is get the best price for him. After all, there's no point keeping an unhappy player. Having said that, I'd like to think that the new manager (or Wotte) would be able to make the final decision on whether we sell or not, and so I'd hope that any decision is made once the new owners are in place.

One thing I do like about the 'new' website is the 'Player Profile' pages. Each player has an in-depth and detailed description about their playing career, with up-to-date stats too. A stark contrast from the previous website, whereby player descriptions were often lifted from their previous employers website!

Liam Miller has been linked with Hull City recently. Be surprised if he was willing to drop down to League One too.

£1m+ is a decent offer for McGoldrick. I would like to see him stay, but being a Nottingham lad, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked to go to Forest. Hopefully he'll remain at Saints, but I'm not convinced.

I don't want to sound like a doom merchant, but I was wondering what would happen if this Pinnacle bid fell through for whatever reason. Obviously, I have everything crossed hoping that they seal the deal, but if the worst case scenario becomes a reality, then what? Would there be enough time for another investor to come to the table and make an offer, or would the money have run out by then? Obviously I hope we don't have to worry about the above, but I would be interested to know none the less.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/8076143.stm At the bottom of that article, it says that Swansea are set to sign Dyer on Monday. Maybe we will lose him for as little as 400K after all. I had hoped that an impending takeover would result in us being able to ask for a higher transfer fee. Time will tell I guess.

Agreed. I actually think that Wotte should be applauded too. No, not for the part he played in our relegation to League One, but for the way he has conducted himself during what has been a very difficult time for Saints. Wotte has taken the 'business as usual' approach and fair play to him. In reality, it was always unlikely that he'd remain as manager, especially with new owners. However, he's continued to work in a professional manner and full credit to him. Having said that, I don't want him to remain at Saints, purely because we need a fresh start. New owners, new manager, new players, new division, new found belief and new optimism. Personally though, I wish him all the best in the future, wherever he ends up. A man with good intentions, but ultimately, not quite good enough for us.

I think the Dyer deal may be on hold due to the fact that Wigan are rumoured to be interested in acquiring the services of Roberto Martinez as their new manager should they lose Steve Bruce to Sunderland. The way I see it though, is that Dyer doesn't want to be at Saints playing in League One, so I expect him to leave at some point this summer. Whether it's to Swansea though remains to be seen, but with new owners, we might be in a position to demand a higher transfer fee and get a better deal.

Poll please mods? Assuming this Pinnacle takeover goes through, how many of you are going to renew or buy new season tickets this year? If MLT is involved, then I wouldn't be surprised to see a few extra thousand buying season tickets. Will be interesting to see if any of the 'stay-aways' return now that we will (hopefully) have a new board with no links to any of the previous regime(s).

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5355785,00.html If he doesn't lower his wage demands even more, he could end up playing for us in League One next season!

If we can get the players to sign new contracts that reflect the fact that we're a League One side, then I'd keep the following: Davis Perry Mills Euell Wright-Phillips and White As a side note, I thought it might be worth mentioning that Lee Molyneux has been told he can look for another club.
-
Was rumoured to have expressed an interest a while back on here too if I remember rightly. Bit worrying that his bid for P*mpey was laughed at and deemed totally unacceptable though. Mind you, we're hardly in a position to pick and choose our new potential owners.

Southampton administrator Mark Fry has confirmed that a 'number of parties' are at a late stage with regards to the purchase of the club. SSN also understand that one of the interested parties are from Switzerland. Make of that what you will! Thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread as the other one has got too many pages to keep up-to-date with the latest goings on, or lack of, as the case may be!

One of the interested parties is thought to be from Switzerland, according to SSN.

Think this part of your comment is a bit harsh IMO. If anything, Surman's form has suffered because he's been trying too hard! He's a committed Saints fan who wants what's best for Southampton Football Club. And as for saying you can't wait until we find someone to take him off our hands, well lets see if you stand by that comment when we lose Drew and we sign an older replacement with half the ability of Surman. What with all the problems our club is going through at the minute, it could be some time before we see a former England Under-21 international playing in a Saints shirt again.
-
Definitely, yes. He's a young, English talent who has proven in the past that he's a decent player. Admittedly, he hasn't been at his best for a large part of this season, but he's shown what he's capable of. I'd be very interested in signing him if I was a Championship manager, especially for a fee as little as £1m.
-
Agree with that. Can't understand why people are so quick to criticise Drew. You just know that people will be moaning on here when Surman does eventually move on as well.
-
Surprised it hasn't been closed sooner. Anyone know if this is a permanent thing or just temporary?
