If MLT wasn't linked to Pinnacle what would you think now?
Bailey replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Honestly, I'd be very scpetical. However, the fact that Le Tiss IS on board fills me with confidence. That man has earnt the trust of all Saints' fans and I am willing to put my faith in him and Pinnacle to come good. -
Ha! This thread could provide some light relief. Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up under 'Golden Posts'. Anyway, lets get casting . . .

Pinnacle release statement . . . http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4454189.Pinnacle_release_Saints__statement/
-
If you read the statement from the Football League, it doesn't specifically state that Pinnacle CAN NOT appeal the points deduction, but it does say that they (the Football League) will 'continue to liaise with their (Pinnacle's) representatives going forward.' Does this possibly mean that an agreement or compromise has been reached and that the news on South Today at 18:30 is to announce that the deal to take the club over has been confirmed and is set to go through tomorrow. 2+2=5?

Please, please, please, please, please get this deal sorted! Not that I care or anything.

Message from Tony Lynam - Saturday 20th June 12:54pm
Bailey replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
My weekend might be a bit more enjoyable after reading that. Thanks for the update once again Tony. Very much appreciated. Lets hope it all gets resolved on Monday. -
I'm angry, frustrated, gutted and bitter at the minute. Surely what the Football League are asking us to do is illegal? They can't blackmail us into not appealing. We have a right to appeal!
-
No-one else needs to make a comment. We already have a winner!
-
The way that is written suggests that the Pinnacle bid is dead. I don't see it like that. What's to stop Pinnacle from agreeing to the Football League's demands, or better still, coming to some sort of compromise with them? If that happens, then the deal could still go through. However, as the exclusivity agreement has ended, technically Fry can talk to other interested parties, but I would imagine he will be working very closely with Pinnacle and the Football League in a bid to resolve these issues and get this bid sorted. It would make much more sense to do that then speak with other consortiums and be back to square one again.
-
What's the likelihood of another group/consortium entering a period of exclusivity with Fry and the Administrators? From what we know it would appear that this Pinnacle deal isn't dead and so would we be right to assume that Fry will continue to talk solely to Pinnacle for the time being to see if these issues can be resolved?
-
Really appreciate the update. Please, please, please get this sorted Tony! Lets hope the deal goes through ASAP!
-
Both in talks with Plymouth apparently. Also, only 16 players showed up for their pre-season tests the other day. Nothing ground-breaking, but thought I'd pass on what I heard.
-
Because from the little that we know, it would appear that Saints have a valid case and could get the points deduction over-turned. The Football League won't want to eat humble pie and admit they were wrong by imposing the points deduction on us in the first place, so my guess is that we have valid grounds for appeal and the FL are trying to find a way to get themselves out of the mess that they created.

Didn't quite work out for him here but it wasn't through a lack of effort. I wish him all the best in his new job.
-
Had you asked me prior to the Keegan story broke, I would have been more than happy with Dowie, but after yesterday's events anyone but him (or Strachan) is going to be a tad disappointing. Still, I'm just grateful that we still have a club and I'll support whoever is given the job.
-
Not as bad as some are making him out to be on here. Having said that, he's not that great either and the prospect of him playing in the Champions League with Porto is a strange one. I can't even see him having enough quality to hold down a regular spot in Stoke's team, yet alone playing against some of Europe's best teams.

The Unofficial Official Unofficial Saints kit ideas
Bailey replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
Winner! Imagine if the takeover goes through tomorrow, with Le Tiss named as Chairman. Keegan comes in as Manager or DoF and then we have this as our home kit. A return to the good old days! -
If Carlsberg did football teams . . .
-
I don't have a problem with Leon having a place on the new Board. After all, if it wasn't for him injecting some cash into the club, we'd be out of existence by now. Not to mention the fact that he's a Saint through and through. Admittedly a clean sweep would be ideal, but if anyone was going to remain then I'm glad it's Crouch.
-
This would be fantastic either way. Shearer or Keegan as Manager with Dowie as First-Team Coach would give us fans a massive lift. All have past connections with the club, and it would be great to have real football people running the club both at Boardroom level and on football matters too. Still, I will remain cautiously optimistic until I see everything finalised on the OS. Don't think we should get too ahead of ourselves just yet!
-
If they are willing to pay for the extra few days then I don't see why Fry would be against this idea? Surely he'd rather agree to the extra few days then go back to square one and have to strike another exclusivity deal with a different interested party?
-
doggface has been pretty much spot on with a lot of his posts with regards to the Pinnacle takeover. Should we not be a bit concerned by his post towards the end of the 'Pinnacle clinch it' thread?
-
Rasiak and Saga will probably still want to leave. They may not be aware of the hysteria surrouning Keegan and what it would mean for the club should he become Manager. Surman, on the other hand, may be tempted to stay put. As a Saints fan he might find it very hard to leave the club at a time when their are new owners with ambition. The prospect of playing under an ex-Saint in the form of Kevin Keegan might be quite an exciting prospect too.
-
Would be brilliant, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. I remain cautiously optimistic. Until it's all confirmed and finalised, I won't get too excited! Here's hoping though!
