  1. I WANT it to be Strachan, with Keegan as my second choice. However, I THINK it'll be a relatively unknown foreign manager. Not the 'household name' that many are expecting.

    Keegan

Strachan over Keegan, but would be absolutely delighted with either. Part of me still thinks that we're going to get an unknown foreign manager. He may have a half decent record abroad, but I'm not really expecting a 'household name' like many others are.

    Whose left

They also have Surman on the squad list. Say no more.
  4. If we are able to tie up some of our out-of-contract players to new deals, then potentially our squad next season doesn't need too many additions in my opinion. If we manage to have a squad including the following players, then I think we have a fantastic chance of being competitive in League One next season. Goalkeepers: Kelvin Davis Bartosz Bialkowski Michael Poke Right-back: Lloyd James Graeme Murty Left-back: Joseph Mills ??? Centre-back: Wayne Thomas Olly Lancashire Chris Perry ??? Right-midfield: Jake Thomson ??? Left-midfield: Lee Holmes ??? Centre-midfield: Simon Gillett Paul Wotton Morgan Schneiderlin Jason Euell Adam Lallana Forwards: Stern John Marek Saganowski Grezgorz Rasiak Bradley Wright-Phillips Reserves: Tommy Forecast Jamie White Matthew Paterson Anthony Pulis Kayne McLaggon Lee Molyneux
  5. So excited by all of the developments over the last few days. Will be renewing my season ticket tomorrow for sure!
  6. I'd absolutely love it if Strachan did come back to Saints, but I just can't see it. Would be a dream come true, but I won't get my hopes up. Part of me thinks we'll get a foreign manager who none of us have really heard of. Might have a good track record abroad, but maybe not the 'household name' that some are expecting. Whatever the powers that be decide, they need to make sure that they are 100% confident with their decision. The next managerial appointment is crucial for us. Choose the right man and we could potentially make a push for promotion. Make the wrong choice and we could find ourselves fighting to stay in the division.
  7. Fair play to Wotte. He stuck by us when others would have walked. I don't rate him as a manager but I do feel sorry for him with regards to the way he's been treated. Having said that, he has had his contract paid up in full so that's not a bad consolation! He clearly didn't see this coming though and I wish him all the very best in the future.
  8. You're not Mark Fry by any chance are you?
  9. The more I think about it, the more I feel Wotte has been played by the new owners. They hinted that he'd remain in charge, therefore overseeing the first-team's training and pre-season fixtures whilst the takeover was being finalised. Now it has been sorted, they've said thankyou very much but after reviewing the managerial situation, we feel it's best to have a clean sweep all round. As they say, that's business! I do feel a tad sorry for him though and I wish him every success in the future.
  10. Get Le Tiss on board with the Swiss and get him to have a word with Keegan again. Would certainly go some way to filling St. Mary's!
  11. Never understand why so many criticise Crouch on here. The only thing he's guilty of is letting his heart rule his head at times. Make no mistake about it, if it wasn't for Leon putting his hand in his pocket, Saints would be no more. He deserves our respect for that alone.
  12. Wow. That's come out the blue. Right decision I feel though. Full credit to him for his conduct during what has been a difficult time for our club. I wish him all the very best in his future employment.
  13. I'd like to see Lallana stay but if he wants out then so be it. I don't want any player at the club who doesn't want to be here. Would love to see Lallana show us a bit of loyalty, and I think he owes it to us in truth, but I can also understand his motives for wanting a transfer. We'll see what happens, but one thing is for sure, he won't go cheap now that we've been taken over.
  14. Agreed. I'm not getting too excited until I see official confirmation on the OS!
  15. I'd rather have Ryan 'World-Class' Smith in place of Messi, with Lee 'Robben' Holmes on the other wing. Other than that, I agree.
  16. From someone within the club, but obviously can't name them! They've given me information in the past that has turned out to be correct so no reason to doubt them on this occasion. I really hope it's true. Fingers crossed.
  17. Have been told that Davis is set to sign a new contract and stay at Saints. He's been holding out for our takeover and now it has gone through he's looking to commit his future to us. Should be confirmed by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.
  18. I just hope no other former Board members are re-appointed now. Oldknow isn't linked to Lowe or Wilde or any of that lot is he? I'll completely relax when the new Board is announced and we know the situation both on and off the field.
  19. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The only thing that MLT was guilty of is trying to save our great club. He is, and always will be, a Saints legend.
  20. Hopefully Murty impresses during his trial. Now that we're in a position to offer him a deal, I'd like to think we can snap him up now! He's exactly the type of character we need at our club as we begin to re-build and his experience will be invaluable to our very young side.
  21. I would rather we brought in a new manager who has the ability to attract real quality players. Whilst Wotte should be praised for his actions in what has been a difficult time for the club, I think we need a new man at the helm. I wouldn't be totally against the idea of MW reverting to his role with the Academy, but a fresh start under new ownership is best. Whatever happens, I'm willing to give my total support to the team. Roll on August 8th!
  22. I posted yesterday saying that Davis was holding out for our takeover to go through, and I've heard even better news today. It would seem that Davis is set to remain a Saint. Should be confirmed by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.
  23. If Wotte stays then I think we will re-sign Saeijs on a permanent deal. If Wotte goes, it's unlikely but I'd be more than happy to have JP back. He did a good job for us last season and would be decent in League One.
  24. If Lallana wants out then there's not a lot we can do. I don't want a player at the club who doesn't want to play for us to be honest. If he does go, then we should definitely insert a sell-on clause in the deal, as I'm convinced this lad has a big future in the game. I don't get why people are slating him so much. Yes, his form dipped during the second half of the season, but he was playing out of position in a struggling side. If he has a change of heart and decides to stay, then I hope Wotte or whoever is in charge can get the best out of him.
  25. Thank god for that! So so happy. Such a relief! I can actually get on with my work now. Good times. Bought by a billionaire too! COYR!
