Be funny if he was given the no.36 shirt now . . .

Saints to win 2-1. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet, but I can see Papa Waigo dancing at St. Mary's as he comes off the bench to net a late winner. What a way to intrdouce himself that would be!
-
I'd like to see: Davis Thomas - Perry - Trotman - Harding Waigo - Hammond - James - Mills Lambert - Lallana Subs: Bialkowski, Lancashire, Wotton, Schneiderlin, Mellis, Holmes, Paterson. However, I'd expect us to line-up like this: Davis Thomas - Perry - Trotman - Harding Mellis - Hammond - James - Lallana Lambert - Paterson Subs: Bialkowski, Lancashire, Wotton, Schneiderlin, Thomson, Holmes, Waigo.

Would love to play Aldershot away. Haven't been to the Rec in a long while!

I love the fact that this signing has caused so much excitement, despite the fact that none of us have ever seen him play! It's quite funny really, but I'm more than happy to jump on board the Papa Waigo bandwagon. Really, really hope we get to see this lad in action tomorrow. If he scores on his debut too, it would just be fantastic. Would be very disappointed if he didn't do his dance though! Can you imagine that!?
-
Lol. Ok, definitely not that full version! But the bit I mentioned in the previous post would work!
-
Boom boom boom! Let me hear ya say Papa WAIGO! Repeat that until it drowns out. Simple song, easy to remember, everyone knows the tune and the Northam could get it going easily.

Fantastic news that Jaidi has finally signed. He's a big, no-nonsense defender who is a tremendous asset to have when attacking and defending set-pieces. Securing his signature has been a long, drawn-out process but I'm relieved it's all done and dusted now. With this latest addition, our defence is starting to take shape and it's good to see that we now have a number of options at the back. Perry, Thomas, Trotman and Jaidi are all more than capable in this division, and this signing also enables Lancashire to go out on loan to gain some much needed experience.

Still no news on Murty, but to me that suggests it's better than first feared. I'm still not expecting to see him in a Saints shirt for another couple of months though.
-
Can't say I've ever heard of him or seen him play, but I trust Pardew on this one. Obviously our new scouting set-up is providing Pardew with a lot more information already which is good to see. Prepared to give 'Smurf' time to settle, but hopefully he'll be an instant hit here at Saints.

It's a decent team on paper, especially for League One. All we need now is a winger and a striker and we'll be looking quite strong. Davis Murty - Jaidi - Trotman - Harding Lallana - Hammond - Schneiderlin - Mills Saganowski - Lambert Subs: Bialkowski, Thomas, Perry, Gillett, Thomson, Holmes, Paterson It's good to see we've got options at the back now. Thomas can come in at RB whilst Murty is injured, Perry is more than capable of playing alongside either Trotman or Jaidi and Mills can fill in at LB if Harding suffers an injury. Pardew has worked hard to bring in a new spine to our team, and with Davis, Jaidi, Hammond and Lambert, the foundations are in place, it's just a case of getting the finishing touches to our side now. Once we start to gel, and there are definitely signs that that's beginning to happen, then we will be a decent side in this division.

And he has a habit of winning 3-0 against us too. I know what result my money is going on this Saturday!

Campbell left P*mpey to join Notts County. Does that make them a bigger club than you too?
-
I don't think it's a case of keeping Pulis, but that nobody is willing to take him off our hands!
-
Their manager is going to have a hard time choosing his front two each game. With Hughes, Hawley, Saganowski, Benjani, Vieri and Larsson all vying for a starting spot, there's certainly a fair bit of competition.
-
Lol @ Saganowski if this move goes ahead. So much for moving to a higher division to keep his international career alive. Hopefully this means Saga will leave on a permanent basis and we'll get a half decent fee for him.
-
He's not after a pay-rise, he just wants to be a part of the exciting project that is taking place at Notts County.
-
MOTD, proper media coverage, beating big teams occasionally, not having the **** ripped out of me for supporting a League One club, signing well-known players, Gordon Strachan, a full St. Mary's, the rivalry with P*mpey and a good atmosphere. And the list goes on!

It's a valid point. Had the penalty not been given yesterday and we'd seen the game out, people would have been saying that this is a turning point in our season, we've kept a clean sheet, onwards and upwards etc etc. Letting a goal in from a dubious penalty is a bitter pill to swallow, especially so late in the game but we are getting there, albeit slowly. Admittedly, we really do need to start winning games and fast as the longer we go on with minus points, the more the pressure will build. Still, I've seen enough from us in recent weeks to suggest we're moving in the right direction and Pardew is slowly but surely turning things around. We've been in decline as a club for years and our troubles will not be cured overnight. As always, patience is a virtue and that saying has never been more appropriate than in this instance. In Pardew we trust.

Gutted. Can't remember how many times I've started my post-match comment with that word either. 15 bloody seconds! Why does it always happen to us? We've changed the owners, the manager and the team, and yet we still concede late on. I know it's not the end of the world and I'm not expecting us to be in a relegation battle come the end of the season, but right now I feel so deflated. Really, really hope that we can get 3 points against Colchester, otherwise even I will struggle to draw the positives out of another disappointing game.
-
I wouldn't worry about not hearing any rumours or gossip with regards to potential signings. Harding, Hammond and Trotman all came out of the blue, so who's to say that Pards hasn't got another target in mind? As for O'Donovan, I can't really comment as I've only seen him play a handful of times, but he looked OK. Nothing special mind, but it would be silly to right him off before he even gets here though. In Pards we trust!

Glad to see that he's finally gone. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a fit and motivated Rasiak in our side, as he'd score a shed load in this division. However, he has repeatedly stated his desire to leave and now he's got his wish. In our position, we can't afford to have anyone at the club who isn't committed to the cause and willing to give their all. Having said all that, Rasiak did provide me with one of my greatest Saints memories. His goal at Pride Park is up there with the best of them based on what it meant and when he scored it. As he tucked that away, I was convinced we'd go on to win the game and gain promotion. Turns out I was horribly wrong! Anyway, I wish Rasiak all the best at Reading, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him do well for himself there.
-
Very disappointed if true. I too had concerns as to whether Morgan could cope with the physical element to League One, but he's made a decent start to the season and has shown that he's not afraid to get stuck in. If he has asked to go, then there is no point in keeping him, we only want players at the club that are committed to the cause. I guess all we can do is try to get a decent price for him which enables us to find an able replacement.

Could it be that we struck a deal with Leicester, whereby Rasiak was set to join them with Gradel going in the opposite direction? Could it be that Leicester are the club that Rasiak 'wasn't impressed with' and so this deal is either off or being re-negotiated? Or could it be that it's nothing more than a rumour and I've been thinking too much about this one?
