  1. I firmly believe that in Hart and Butland, the long-term future of England is in safe hands. If the latter continues to develop in the manner he has done over the last 18 months, he'll be good enough to not only act as an understudy to Hart, but to challenge him for a starting role too.

A good, young and talented player. Been advocating this signing for some time now, and Saints have been tracking his progress all season. Wouldn't surprise me if we did enquire as to his availability, but whether we'll push on and attempt to sign him, I'm unsure. However, he's the kind of player that, in my opinion, would flourish in this environment and no doubt Adkins could help with his progression. I think I'm right in saying that Adkins signed him during his spell in charge at S****horpe, possibly on loan? Sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!
  3. Yes. If Chamberlain makes an appearance, Saints will be entitled to a relatively significant windfall.
  4. But the bad thing about Alton Towers, is that it's near Stoke.
  5. I've heard we've made an enquiry for Lee Camp. Forest apparently willing to let him go too. Don't suppose you've heard anything have you Patred? Would be a good option IMO and he would certainly push Kelvin for the number 1 jersey. We'll see, but I'd be happy if it happens.
  6. Sharp deal, and he was aware of our interest in Danny Collins too.
  7. Personally I find the Man City website too cluttered. There's a lot going on and it's not that aesthetically pleasing. Just my opinion, of course. I'm quite content with our current website, however generic and ordinary it may be. That said, the online shop and ticketing systems definitely need updating/improving.
  8. Robert Snodgrass being linked with us in a couple of the nationals this morning. He and Matt Phillips would solve our problem at right-midfield. Between them, there is pace, power and trickery. If we managed to get them both, it would be a two quality signings. Realistically though, just one of Matt Jarvis, Phillips or Snodgrass is more likely.
  9. Fabio is on the verge of joinin Benfica, he won't be coming here.
  10. Don't write him off. If he does join, he's exactly the type of player that will thrive in this environment under a manager like Adkins. Trust the powers that be. After all, we have no reason to doubt them.
  11. Simon Cox rumours gathering pace. We've made enquiries for a number of players already. It promises to be an exciting summer!
  12. Fox is alot better than people on here are giving him credit for. His form since joining Saints shows he's easily capable of playing in the Premier League and I'm not at all surprised to see this rumour resurface. He's twice the player Harding is too and that's no criticism of DH. I'd even go as far as saying that he's the best left-back we've had since the likes of Bale and Bridge. By no means am I suggesting he's as good as them however. Worth clarifying before anyone jumps on that comment!

  14. I'd like to see us go for Allan McGregor but his attitude is of slight concern. I don't know whether he'd fit in with the type of player already at the club, and whether he'd be willing to buy in to the long-term project.
  15. There's already been interest from one Premier League club and a handful in Ligue 1. However, Morgan is settled here, very happy and only recently signed a new contract. Future is bright!
  16. And you know what, even if the unthinkable happens and we lost on Tuesday, IT'S STILL IN OUR OWN HANDS! Granted, we would have made it hard for ourselves, but it's by no means out the question that we could beat Boro and Cov. Who knows, we may even win all 3 and win the league still! KEEP THE FAITH! Rant over.
  17. The bed wetters on here are most probably the same people that were throwing their dummies out the pram after our 3-0 defeat at the hands of Blackpool, and the same people that were then saying we're as good as promoted after the Palace victory. I've had enough of the negativity on here. Look at the league from an objective point of view. We're 3 points clear of 3rd, with 3 games to go. We need to win 2 to guarantee promotion. Thankfully, I have every confidence that Nigel and the team won't get caught up in the heat of the moment, they'll look at the bigger picture, stay calm, collected and get the job done on Tuesday. People need to seriously get some perspective. It's not all doom and gloom, and you know what, I bet you now that the people who are slating the team for 'blowing it' will be on here come 10pm Tuesday saying how fantastic the boys were after beating Posh. This Saints side has earned our backing, our faith and our support. Get behind the lads! We're in a fantastic position. Flip today's results into a positive. Maybe it will serve as a timely reminded that we cannot afford to slip up, but it's currently STILL IN OUR HANDS. Let's do this! Keep the faith, support the lads and COME ON YOU ****ING REDS! Ps. Apologies for the motivational, happy-clappy rant, but the negativity on here is overwhelming.
  18. I actually think this season has one or two more twists and turns in it yet. I wouldn't even be that surprised if we won the league on the final day. Granted, it's unlikely and it's Reading's to lose, but stranger things have happened. Win at Posh on Tuesday and things will seem rosy once again. Keep the faith!
  19. Agents at work! Nothing to see here.
  20. Clyne will be playing at a much bigger club than Palace or Saints next season. I'd love to see him here as he's a fantastic prospect, but there's more chance of P*mpey staying up then that happening unfortunately.
  21. We've signed Rickie Lambert! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8193383.stm
  22. The fact that our lead article on the OS is about Barnard seeking a strong finish hardly inspires me with confidence. On the contrary, it could all be mind-games and Lambert may well start on Saturday. You decide!
  23. I don't mean to be negative, but I think we'll slip to a narrow defeat in this one. Blackpool 2-1 Saints. After West Ham away, I predicted we'd only lose two games during the run-in, and I've been spot on thus far (bar Hull away, where I thought we'd draw). I had tomorrow's game down as one of the defeats, with Boro away being the other. Hope to be proved wrong though, as a win tomorrow would put us within touching distance, especially as one of West Ham and Reading will drop points.
  24. Cannot underestimate the importance of Hooiveld and Fox. The former has been a revelation since joining, proving a lot of people wrong in the process, myself included! As for Fox, his set-piece delivery and general play has been a real bonus for us. He's clearly worked on the defensive part of his game too. We've really felt his absence when Harding has stepped in, and that's no criticism of Harding either!
  25. Liebherr driver, what's your email address? I'll contact you via that and arrange collection. Cheers.
