Although sort of agree with your sentiments, Everton were in the Champions league in 05/06 after coming 4th in 04/05. Knocked out in the third qualifying round though so never made it to the group stage. I think they were nearly relegated for it though in 05/06 so it might not be something we'd want to look at anyway. I'd be very happy with an FA cup final again.

Done, good luck.

If Roy has been at the last two games to watch saints then as well as keeping his eye on the three forward lads I think it's more likely he'll be looking at Shaw and Clyne more thoroughly. I think lallana is on the plane, maybe rickie if he can keep banging them in and I actually think clyne or Shaw will be going as well, probably clyne.
-
I would have lallana Rooney and Johnson behind sturridge. That would be an exciting front four.
-
Could Johnson be a threat to Adam's place? Both play out wide and come in. Like to see both in the team personally and Townsend on the bench.

I like to get someone in because I enjoy the transfer window and it's exciting when news comes from the ground regarding an iminent signing - Only for it then to be a youngster or something. We do a have team that can keep us at this level though, we're not going to have to look over our shoulders. If no purchases this window then hopefully the saved wages and 15m from osvaldo will be invested wisely in the summer.

Young striker, not sure how good. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/01/27/southampton-track-second-sassuolo-striker-diego-falcinelli/

Is he really worth that much? If everyone takes off their rose tinted specs he's worth about 12m tops. 22m is a steal, can buy a striker and left back for that.

Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed

We will keep our best players if KL wants to sell up. We are an attractive club to someone out there. Hopefully cortese and his new backers -
Why would city ruin Shaw? If he's the world beater everyone says he is he'll walk into the team and hold his own, he'll only be ruined if not good enough for the team and they replace him with someone better. We would have to be mental not to accept 30m but I'm assuming it's something like 10m up front and the rest when certain criteria is met.

Nothing brilliant about Di Matteo, scraped through a couple of games to get xcl and was poor at west brom. Prob a reason why no one has taken s punt on him. Hopefully we can do a lot better if poch goes.

not quite our best 11 but still a decent team against a weakened Everton side. Hopefully lots of goals as jumped on over 2.5.

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
Saint_Ash replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
He's the sort of signing Man U would want to make to help push for the top 4 this year so I can see a January bid coming in if a bid is forthcoming. Regardless what anyone says about saints being a new force to be reckoned with he'd be a fool not to jump at the chance to play in a team that can make him a starter for England not just a squad player and play in the current champs league campaign. getting past cortese would be the difficult aspect, I honestly believe he won't take less than 30m. -
He's French, he should only play for France. Which I hope he does.

I've been looking for Glasgow's thread of the form guide where we were top.or near as dann it but can't find it! How strange, not like Glasgow to be negative or focus on the bad saints stuff surely?
-
Your point is? We were top of the form guide not so long ago, didn't see you bringing it up then.
-
This isn't worrying, dropping lovren or Shaw would be worrying, we can still play well with that team.
-
Brilliantly played, ship steadied with a weaker lineup against league favourites.
-
Hopefully ossie will be on a big high abd come out flying. He just needed a bit of confidence. Our pass success rate looks excellent and we have to try to keep the tempo up, going to be hard to keep it up until the 95th minute. I'd take 1 all right now.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa

Strength in depth isn't there unfortunately. Good starting 11 but a few more good players away from top 6 over the course of the season. Need to be more clinical and missed a settled back 5. -
