  1. Davies 9 Made some great save and obviously the penalty (which was a bit weak) James 7 good going forward, at times not the best defending, kept annoying me when he was playing the ball in the channel but hitting it straight to the defender when he only had to hoof it over the back. skacel 7 had a decent game, not too much room on that side City looked stronger down that side but did OK Perry & Size 8 both looked good, solid and there seemed to be a good understanding between them, there goal was offside but they both stood and looked at adelbola as he ran through. That was the only downside, if they play like this we will not let in too many goals. Euell 5 not his best performance, looked out of it a bit but he has not played for a while. work hard but looked out of sorts when he got the ball. Spider 7 I thought he looked good on the ball and worked hard, surprised when he came off. Wotton 5 good defensively worked hard but some woeful touches when we had possesion. moves the ball well when not under pressure but when he was not too good. Surman 6 again not the best, lost possesion regularly but had some good moments. Saga 6 tried and tried but was very ineffective, deserved to be taken off Mcgoldrick 7 looked the most likely but still not quite there, had a couple of decent chances but they feel to his left foot and were weak, think everyone should get of his back, some link up play was very good, little bit lazy, thought he could have showed a little more at times. Llalana looked lively when he came on but we were on top, linked well with McGoldrick. Gillett didn't get involved that much sat back and put out a few passes, again, we were well on top when he came on Mclaggon look lively and i think did well, caused a few problems with his pace, I think i quite like him Sorry not the best ratings I know but I am a little drunk. All round I felt we could and should have got something out of the game, yet again we were not quite there up front!
  2. Funny reading the comments from those not at the game. Same old story, played well second half but no cutting edge. Saga poor, deserved to be taken off, despite those not at the game saying wotte is clueless for taking him off. Most on here, particularly those not at the game ar such ****s, making comments about indiviidual players when your not even at the game. Lets all get on the 'we hate mcgoldrick' band wagon, he was by far the more likely out of him and Saga! Looked solid at the back, first goal looked well offside, we had the best of the second half and were close to getting a goal. second goal a result of Kelvin up for a corner, but **** it lets blame mcgoldrick!
  3. Well what a c**t, how dare he sign for us and say he is happy to be here. How dare he not be as good as vidic or ferdinand, in fact why have we not signed one of them? If you see him in the street through eggs at him and his family and abuse them, he is s**t!! No, I haven't seen him play yet either!!
  4. Just a few names for you to mull over while you come up some more thoughtless crap to help you bang your tuneless drum. Scolari Benitez Mourinio They seem to have done ok without previous experience of football in this country, I am sure in your mind that is somehow different.
  5. CCC shots statistics 1 Saints - On Target 157 - Off Target 136 - Hit WW 5 2 Wolves - 162 - 122 - 10 3 ipswich - 150 - 127 - 14 And so on http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/ClubShooting/0,,10794~20087,00.html
  6. your posts remind me of Marvin the robot in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
  7. going on info posted elsewhere on here: If the game sells out, 32,000 fans at an average of £23 is £736000 We get 45% of this £331,200, add £160,000 tv money gives a total of £491,200 £491,200 less the cost of putting on the game, which i wouldn't like to guess, this game alone will be a great money spinner for the club. With a draw and a reply at Old Trafford: 76,000 fans @ £30 = £2,280,000 45% = £1,026,000 I would guess tv again £160,000 gives us £1,186,000 Grand total with a draw first game = £1,677,200 If we can get that draw then this tie may not be our saviour, but could mean keeping certain players in January.
  8. If its anything like last year there will be a special train layed on for the city fans from Temple Meads Station direct to Southampton, I would have thought the same would be layed on for Rovers fans from Parkway Station. So shouldn't be an issue!
  9. Not sure it's our style of play, more the pressure of playing at home with a negative atmoshphere and young players fear of making a mistake, missing a chance or failing with a pass and then hearing the groans. I am sure they would fair far better at home, were there to be a full house cheering them on creating a platform for them to try things and be more positive. Confidence is key in football and the crowd can play a big part in that, hence we seem to do better away from home, good positive atmosphere, singing from start to finish, just a thought!
  10. Typical negative approach from posters on here. Happy days a favourite of many saints fans has returned from injury after such a long time, its just a bit of fun!
  11. gutted about the loss but looking forward to the rest of the season. most enjoyable defeat for a long time. team of young players that can compete at this level and will only get better as the season goes on. A draw today would have been a great result, unlucky to let in a late goal but we will be fine this season not sure we will be in the promotion mix. Svensson was awesom but it is easy to think that as we all want him to be back to his best. Gillett was brilliant and davis kept us in the game, looking forward after this performance!! we have got one of the worst grounds out of the way this season, what a sh1t hole!!!! Sorry for poor levels of english but I am very drunk
  12. I was someone who defended Burley mainly because most of the critisism was fairly unfounded and in many cases very childish witch hunts. I never felt he was Gods gift to management but I did feel that the probems we had at the time were not down to him but the overall state of the club. I and many others felt it didn't matter who was manager at that time and that the likely hod was that we would end up with a less able man. Results show that those people, me included, were right about this as we were in mid table when he left and ended up very nearly relegated. Seems odd to drag this up as the issue caused many disagreements, at long last the club the team and the fans seem to be pulling in the same direction. So sorry, not going to bother with the I was wrong you were right, but well done any way, have two gold stars!
