I hope Lallana finally has a better corner taking stat than 4? Seeing as you managed to miss fixing that in the January update last year!
-
If the playoffs were next weekend definitely. On this form I'd fancy us to give most Premiership teams a game, I'd go into this weekend fully expecting to beat anyone in the Championship comfortably.
-
Simply stunning all round. Schneiderlin's ball to Lallana wouldn't look out of place at any team in the world.
-
No, I think a lot of people shockingly underestimated the ability of our team. The freedom we've gotten from facing teams who actually look to play football rather than try for a draw has allowed us to step up to another level. We are however going to see a lot of ultra defensive displays at St. Marys that will be a challenge to break down however I can really see us continuing to rip everyone to shreds away from home this season.

Still remember his dickish celebration infront of us away to Man City in the cup a few years back.
-
Planning a bit of a road trip down there and thinking about maybe camping or hostels for the week, should be a laugh!
-
Huddersfield just missed a penalty. Still 1-0

Lambert creates bucket loads of chances by doing this. The full-backs aren't used to going up against a strong, tall, centre forward and by doing that he draws out the gap for Lallana to get between the Centre Back and the Full Back. It's a very clever piece of tactical play.

First impressions: Adam Lallana's corner taking is still 4??? And better acceleration and same pace as Chamberlain???

Ricky!!

Yup, we've conceded 9, Brighton just behind us with 10 conceded

Stayed in the same hotel as the squad on the pre-season tour of Norway a few years back. Got to the hotel fairly early in the morning and went out for a walk, came back and there was a sea of black sports bags in the lobby. Spotted a Saints carrier bag amongst them and thought at least there was another Saints fan there! Next thing I knew Claus and Burley walked past me, that's when I twigged what the sports bags were for! Had a good time, Saganowski even bought me a drink in the hotel bar after the game, which was nice as they cost a bloody fortune over there!

Adam Lallana's corner stat fixed I take it?

What a game! It may have been awful to watch but I don't think I've laughed so much at a game for ages. I recall chants of "Can we come and sit with you?" and "Let's pretend we scored a goal" followed by "shhhhhhhhshhhhhhhhh" and then loads of us just going mental

Didn't he make that save from an absolute bullet header from Shearer against Newcastle, about 4 yards out? One of the best saves I've ever seen.
-
He wouldn't have had a hope in hell of getting anywhere near that ball, especially in the wind. Why on Earth would you come for a risky ball like that when there's a defender with a simple header to knock it away at the back post. If he would have tried to come for that he would not have got it and you'd be slating him for not staying on his line when a ball is floated across in winds that strong and there's a defender with a fairly comfortable header to make underneath it.
-
First goal he was partly to blame for, although he was clearly set for the shot from Mackail-Smith and caught out by the fact he he shinned a bobbler into the opposite corner to the one he was aiming at. The second one was in no way his fault, if I was the goalkeeping coach and one of my keepers tried to come and collect a cross like that, through that many people, in such a strong wind, I would have been going absolutely ballistic at him. Dan Harding totally bottled what should have been a fairly comfortable header to clear. Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that he made two great saves from 1 on 1's and got on the end of a fair few crosses, which in those conditions was no mean feat. Dropping one of, if not the, best keepers in League 1 would be an absolute joke of a decision, luckily Nigel Adkins has 10 times more footballing sense than a lot of people on here.

Hope you didn't go for that........ Aussies are collapsing. 286-8

I'm so glad someone else has noticed this! Thought I was the only one. He is utterly utterly woeful. Awful first touch, can't hold the ball up. Consistently loses possession by being tackled or simply passing straight to the opposition. Hope he doesn't get another game between now and his loan expiring!
-
Have no concerns about hunting Brighton down given that performance. They came to play for the draw and were time wasting in the first minute. We absolutely tore them to shreds and should have scored at least twice. Have to question why Guly came on though, once again gave the ball away EVERY time he got it and was generally crap. Hope Adkins isn't considering keeping him on.
-
Excellent performance all round. Only negative from my point of view is Guly. Surely I can't be the only one wondering how this guy gets a game all the time? He holds the ball for way too long, doesn't see passes, can't beat anyone, and seems to lose possession really easily. Apart from that we were superb. Another game of totally bossing the midfield whilst Barnard and Lambert caused all sorts of problems for their defence.

Chamberlain was outstanding for me in the game I had going in the demo, something like 8 goals and 12 assists in the first 6 months.
-
Today was an example in how dominating the midfield wins you games in this league. D&R simply did not know what to do with Chamberlain and Lallana running at them. Then you had Hammond sitting deep in the holding role whilst Chaplow was simply awesome, box to box, seemed to be everywhere at once. The number of times they just knocked the ball long into space behind our back four was a credit to how well we shut them out in the middle of the pitch. Lambert and Barnard did what was required of them, made their presence felt and opened up the gaps for Chamberlain and Lallana. Back four was solid as ever, with Fonte at his usual brilliant best. As for Chamberlain's goals, first one was a cross but he definitely meant the second.
