  1. Thank **** for that! So we bring on Yoshi to sure up the defence... Surely to god all you Yoshi supporters have had enough now? He's a liability. 11 men, 10 men, it doesn't matter. He makes individual mistakes game after game. He shouldn't be in the premier league let alone playing for us. Does my head in.
  2. Weston-super-Mare as my home town club. Also Bristol City as got mates who are City fans and they were always the 'big' local club growing up.
  3. Love the fact that so many different players are scoring and with so many different types of goal. Both full backs, pretty much every midfielder, all the forwards... back heels, long range bullets, headers, even an overhead kick. Fantastic to watch. Must be a nightmare for opposition managers/researchers etc looking to do their homework on us! Bloody brilliant. Long may it continue! COYS!!
  4. Yep. Absolutely. Thought Big Vic was immense again though. Nothing gets through him. Nothing. Great performance.
  5. Come on mods ... poll please!!
  6. Yep. Agree with this. Big Vic was immense. Defo got my MoM vote. He tended to get on the score sheet at Celtic playing in a slightly more advanced role, so why shouldn't he for us?
  7. Surely we need a poll mods!!
  8. Because RK is our manager now and RK wants to do things HIS way. Regardless of sales... for the moment... we must keep the faith.
  9. I too am an avid reader/never poster but have to say I pretty much echo this. For me, Koeman coming to the club is the over-riding significance. Surely he is being paid a significant sum... will have been given significant assurances etc (probably around him having a lot of say in what goes on) and in which case literally only time will tell. Let's see where we are when the transfer window closes. I suppose the small caveat has to be around whether RK has actually been screwed over himself but at this stage I can't see it.
  10. Agree with this. We were marvellous. Almost to a man. But crikey they were hopeless. Fulham in disguise?!
  11. No. Not worse than Fulham at home surely? I think the stats suggested that they were the first team in the prem this season not to have had an attempt at goal AT ALL in the whole of the first half...
  12. I would just rather our squad wasn't so thin. Marvellous to see JRod, Adam and SRL on the scoresheet but if one, just one of them gets injured we've no replacements...
  13. Tbf Bridgey and 'Chrissy Marsden football genius' took some beating!
  14. Great performance at times today. I think with Forren up to speed and Fonte back we'll see a better defence altogether. Boruc is proving to be the top goalie my Celtic supporting mate told me he was and there's certainly nowt wrong with Luke and Clyne or the way MP seems to be setting us up... We're still scoring... All will soon be good me thinks...
  15. Agree with all the comments... I'm 43. In my lifetime of supporting Saints... Lawrie Mac, WGS and moments with 1 or 2 others... otherwise I cannot think of a greater man and a greater manager of my beloved Saints. Thank you Nigel. Thank you so much. I'm embarrassed for you at the moment. I'm just pleased that it's blindingly obviously to all how good you are. Expect to see you up against us (and probably beating us) sometime soon.
  16. Absolutely disgraceful. Truly, truly disgraceful. How can anyone ever develop through anything if they're not given the chance?! A super young manager who's done fantastic things for us and was STILL DOING SO!! Honest to god, I just hope that there was a lot of craziness going on behind the scenes which we aren't aware of otherwise this is bordering on the ludicrous. We all laugh at the joke that Chelsea have become with their 'gung-ho' owner, now we're no better! **** me I'm ****ed off. Good luck Nigel. Seriously good luck and thank you for the great times - shame you weren't allowed to continue on the journey...
  17. Puncheon was super today...
  18. I remember being incredibly excited when we signed David Hurst. He was a seriously good, really exciting footballer. Had the Wow factor for me back then.
  19. I've done it on a number of occasions. Living away from Southampton and only knowing supporters of other teams, it's either go in with the homers, chat to your mate and put up with it or get a single ticket and go in with 1000's of mates but **** the bloke off that you went with (who's gonna be a really close friend who I probably drove to the game with) - either way it's awkward. I went to the Bristol City game at Ashton Gate last year with my City mate and spent 90 odd minutes listening to some serious RL abuse whilst watching us run ragged by Albert Adomah, play poorly, not score for the first time that season and lose 2-0. I probably wouldn't have cheered even if we'd scored for fear of being battered by the local dicks. The thing is, I'd do it all again... seriously though, what is the alternative?
  20. Another daily reader/non-existant poster here... thought I should chip in to this one! 42 years old, brought up in West Somerset in a non-footballing family. In North Somerset now. Collected footy cards with bubblegum as a boy and had more Saints player cards than any others, so when a Saints player scored in a game I knew I had a fair chance of being able to see what he looked like!! Hence, aged 6, 7, 8 etc always looking out for Southampton. Been a 'died in the wool' ever since. First game 09/04/82 H v Aston Villa - dad & uncle took me on Milton Rd terrace. We got hammered 3-0. I remember a bloke called Keith Cassells playing upfront for us. Anybody else remember him?? **** me he was a donkey. Try to see 2 or 3 games a season if I can. Only 1 so far was A at Bristol City. Painful. In with my City supporting mate as well. Even more painful... Great to see the range of ages on here - like some I did have visions of being one of the oldest for some reason. Also, can't see any stick yet St-Clarke! Think you do a fine 'mod' job for a man of lesser years ;-)
