  1. Disagree, look at AFC Wimbledon. From our friend Wikipedia (I know, I know). Following the move of Wimbledon F.C. to Milton Keynes and its rebranding as Milton Keynes Dons, there was much debate over the rightful home of all the honours won by Wimbledon F.C.. Former supporters argued that the trophies won by Wimbledon F.C. rightfully belong to the community of Wimbledon and should be returned to the local area. AFC Wimbledon believe that the honours of Wimbledon F.C. belong to the fans, as illustrated by the following statement on the club's official website: “ The supporters of AFC Wimbledon believe that our club is a continuation of the spirit which formed Wimbledon Old Centrals in 1889 and kept Wimbledon Football Club alive until May 2002. We consider that a football club is not simply the legal entity which controls it, but that it is the community formed by the fans and players working towards a common goal. We therefore reproduce the honours won by what we believe was, and will always be, "our" club, in our community. ” —AFC Wimbledon, statement on the club's Official Website[2] In October 2006, an agreement was reached between Milton Keynes Dons F.C., the MK Dons Supporters Association, the Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association and the Football Supporters Federation. The replica of the FA Cup plus all club patrimony gathered under the name of Wimbledon F.C. would be returned to the London Borough of Merton. Ownership of trademarks and website domain names related to Wimbledon F.C. would also be transferred to the Borough. It was also agreed that any reference made to Milton Keynes Dons F.C. should refer only to events after 7 August 2004, the date of the first league match played as Milton Keynes Dons. As a result of this deal, the Football Supporters Federation announced that the supporters of Milton Keynes Dons would be permitted to become members of the federation, and that it would no longer appeal to the supporters of other clubs to boycott MK Dons matches.[16] The replica trophies and Wimbledon F.C. memorabilia were returned to Merton on 2 August 2007.[17]
  2. They've been doing that on the Continent for years, especially in Eastern Europe. It wouldn't surprise me if SRS was one of the people I saw on youtube earlier. There are all these fans trying to pull down the fencing to get nearer Pompey and the police line around them, then the fence falls down clearing the way and they just carry on standing there pointing and shouting - no interest whatsoever in actually doing anything. That's not to say I think they should go and attack people, but I agree with you that most of it is web insults and shouting behind police lines throwing the odd coin. If they wanted to organise a fight they easily could away from the stadium, the police and the fans that just want to watch the game and have a laugh.
  3. Still wouldn't change the result yesterday if given the choice. To be honest I think most of us have come to terms with relegation, I'm not fussed about that. I just want the club to survive and that (and yesterdays game) was all that has been on my mind.
  4. Not looking good for me is it?

    Trouble?

A lot of nothing as usual. Hyped up before and after but 11 arrests tells the story.
  6. If more people did it, then perhaps ticket prices would come down to a fair price. Personally I'm glad we've had a couple of 17k gates this season, as I'm fed up of the prices going up and us selling out. Finally (as a result of this) they are starting to bring ticket prices down to reach capacity again and I hope next years season tickets will reflect this. There really is no reason why 90 minutes of entertainment should be more than £20 for adults and a fiver for kids. If it means some of these players have to take a paycut, all the better.
  7. Course there is, a relegation for example would mean we wouldn't even need a new stadium as 21,000 is sufficient. Prices will come down I'm certain of it, the only place you can't get a cheaper adult season ticket in the league is Arsenal. It just wouldn't make sense if we had a big stadium, simple supply and demand logic. I could see our ticket prices coming right down and in-line with the premiership average (about £400 adult ST). The main thing that will change is having a decent family section, Storrie wants us to have one of the biggest and cheapest family sections in the prem and as you know offers for kids are the way forward in football these days.
  8. Teams typically enjoy a 50% increase in gates in the first season they move to a new stadium (even if like us, and you, there wasn't always demand for extra seats). If the ticket price came to about average in the premier league (which means we'd need to cut our prices almost in half) and a decent family section was provided then there is no reason why we won't average 30k first year in the premier league.
  9. Come on phil, you know as well as anyone that there are a range of opinions within Saudi Arabia from moderate to extreme. Muslims and Jews have lived together and worked together for thousands of years in most countries. There is a huge difference between a moderate Jew and Muslim working together (as they do in most countries) compared with a Zionist IDF fighter working with an Al Qaeda suicide bomber. The Saudi Arabian Royal Family themselves have loads of links to jewish businesses, it is crazy to suggest that no successful Saudi Arabian businessman has any links to Judaism. King Faisal Al-Saud “We, the Saudi Family, are cousins of the Jews: we entirely disagree with any Arab or Muslim Authority which shows any antagonism to Jews; but we must live together with them in peace. Our country (Arabia) is the fountain head from where the first Jew sprang, and his descendants spread out all over the world.”
  10. NSPCC is fine with me also. Don't think we need a miracle though, there are quite a few poor teams this season. That said, a decent manager and a few good players would certainly help come january...
  11. I'll take you up on that as nobody else has..
  12. I'm on here 'cos I like the banter, and I reckon a good number of your lot like the banter too. It's why really you don't want us to go out of business and we don't want you to go out of business. Hating another team is half the fun, and makes those wins so much sweeter.
  13. Like the post by dubai_phil. Where else was in your sales region? Not Morocco by any chance as I'm off there next week with the other half? Don't understand why some people seem obsessed with all-inclusive packages or rush to the irish bar/rock cafe and eat at mcdonalds/pizza hut. Much more fun actually experiencing different cultures when travelling (the good and the bad)
  14. Pompey ST's are one of the most expensive in the prem. Standard first time season ticket for adults is £710 for the 19 games. At most premiership clubs you can get a season ticket approaching half that (including Villa, City, Bolton, Fulham, Sunderland, Blackburn).
  15. We had more than 16k in Div 4 moosh. 250,000 at the FA Cup Parade. 125,000 watching the day before at the Common and at Wembley. Your club almost out of business and you sell how many tickets? We had three times the amount to watch a Kanu charity match. Our clubs are similar sized but in the all-time average attendence chart we are still higher than you despite decades of utter ****e.
  16. Southampton is a **** city, the majority of residents said the same to me when I lived there. Portsmouth is crap also, but at least it makes the most of what it is. I wouldn't particularly want to live in either and even as a Pompey fan prefer parts of Bournemouth or Brighton. That said, most parts of England are pretty ****ty nowdays which is why us English are leaving at a speed of knots.
