Long was crap! Giving Sam Gallagher away was nonsense - just the kind of young poacher who would have scored yesterday! Poch understood his qualities.

Long was only good last year because he was feeding off Pelle and Mane. Give him the responsibility of leading the line and he is not so clever. We should have kept Sam Gallagher - Poch gave him some games and he did well but not buying a striker could condemn us this year.

Thanks Les and Claude for an uninspiring transfer window and beginning to the season. Bank the rest of the cash on 0.75 interest rather than invest in a defender and striker. Could always buy some diamonds I suppose.

Absolutely. Has anyone told Puel we are in the Premier League and the Europa Cup? A lot more ambition needed in the transfer window and get rid of this small club mentality. Is our manager struggling to motivate our players? He does not smile or seem confident. Feel underwhelmed at the moment with Gaston, Wanyama and Mane doing well. good to see Clyne making a mess of Hull's first goal.

Agreed - look at his signings - Fonte, Lambert - Pardew is shrewd in the market.

Totally agree. Long did well last year because he fed off Mane and Pelle. Not the same this season. We need some ambition in the transfer window or it is going to be a long season. Not happy with Puel's response when Long came off.

Puel needs to be more ambitious in the window and get some quality in. The good ship SFC is drifting dangerously at the moment.

I am not convinced that we have been ambitious enough in transfers to cope with our Thursday/Sunday routine. A season of struggle with a dull manager beckons sadly.

Fonte was a superb acquisition by Pardew and we have had a great six years from him. We have two weeks to find another one because he is not going to stay under a manager such as Puel who is learning his trade in the Premiership. Why wouldn't you want to work under Mourinho in the twilight years where you have not got to prove anything. The real problem is that Saints do not have a big name manager and this may be unsettling a few players. We need to be more ambitious in our spending plans - soon!

I agree but we don't seem to be active in the transfer window - I would have expected a few French stars coming our way. Maybe our manager is not a big enough name1

It is time we started unsettling a few players - how about an offer for Zaha or Bourinho? We need a much bigger squad otherwise we are going to struggle in the next few weeks.
