I partly agree with you..but there is also the train of thought that says a moving forward also creates goals for his partner and others so you could have 2 or 3 scoring? I rate Rasiak in this league but he has to have the right service and play to a certain formation. I watched him the other day on TV he hardly had a kick and his movement non existent.

He has about as much movement as a shop window dummie

Mick Channon in hospital following car crash
Give it to Ron replied to saintbletch's topic in The Saints
Get well soon as you are one of my schoolboy idols - a speedy recovery and thoughts and best wishes go to you and your family - young Mick8 especially. -
I remember up at Kickers in Eastleigh they had a picture of Lallana as one of the young academy lads 3 or 4 years ago. He has a big part to play this year and I hope he doesn't suffer a re-occurence of his hamstring injury that plagued him last year. The good thing with the young lads like Adam, Simon, McGoldrick, Surman, Thomson is that they know each others game so well and unlike most seasons we actually have a squad of players that have played together for a few years.

If we win 2 or 3 games in the next couple of weeks the crowd will return.....football fans are fickle and IMO most are just holding onto their cash until they have proof the team are not going to get slaughtered - only a few are boycotting because of Lowe. I was really impressed with the team against Birmingham and I honestly believe if we can get a result against Blackpool and QPR we will be flying as these lads just need belief and confidence as they have the ability.

Ah the forums Robbie Savage is here again...do you ever play the ball or always the man? Just for your information I have always promoted the communication channel and have stated many times that at least under Rupert the Ask Rupert and Friday night slot he had was one of the best things he ever did. I was one that used it and spoke to him in person at Staplewood. Unlike people like you that just attack other fans views that differ from yours from the keyboard.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/mostpopular.var.2432046.mostviewed.your_chance_to_ask_michael_wilde_about_saints.php Why are you such a Judas c*nt ??? Do you have any shame? Why are you full of cr8p? Just 3 questions I am guessing won't get asked! The man I hold responsible for our recent demise far mor than loveable old rosey cheeks.

My first visit to Wembley and was impressed with the stadium, lifts not working so a lot of stairs to climb! £7.50 for a pint and a pie pretty good value - not...but luckily enough we had eaten at Richmond as I guessed it would be dear. £2:30 for a soft drink is a joke. If anyone goes in the future we parked at Old Deer Park at Richmond which is only a 10 minute walk to the station and pretty cheap as its stops charging after 6:30. £8 all day. Overland train(Stratford) to Willesden Junct then Bakerloo to Wembley Central really easy. Why can an England manager not see that Ashley Cole does not ever go passed his man on the outside? Not once in 90 minutes to he knock the ball past the defender and get deep or to the bye-line and made it easy for the Czechs to nullify us on the left by crowding that side of the midfield - we then had to do about 10 passes to work it across the pitch to the right then back again. The Czechs moved it in 3 passes and far more quicker and incisive then we were all night. Rooney wandered too much but when you get Gerrard(had a mare) and Lumpolard doing bugger all then its not difficult to see why. I am a big fan of Beckham and without his delivery we are stuffed but does he have to take every corner and free-kick? a variation every now and then would make a change especially a left footer inswinging. If Defoe is international class then so am I!!! If Wes Brown is the best right back we have then we can kiss goodbye to the World Cup as I lost count of the number of times he got beaten by what I call 'hanging legs' at the attacker rather than tackle. Terry was at fault for the goal as he was far too tight and let Baros turn, James was shocking and you never knew what he would do next. The Czechs were great to watch - swift passing and movement off the ball and could open us up with 3 passes and technically light years ahead of us. I am not advocating the long ball game but English football is built on power, passion and commitment with a bit of pace thrown in....25 passes including 12 in our own half to get the ball up to Rooney gives the opposition all the time in the world to get men back. We are pedestrian in our play and need to up the pace and movement.

Not going by his performance the other night..its not as if he wasn't trying...he was just absolute pants...this coming from one of his main supporters last year!
-
Well I think he was a very good player for us and wish him well...but I also think that £1.3m for a player that has just had an operation and not played since a very serious head and eye operation may be a good deal. I had the same thing as he did when some **** from Whitbreads Fc headed my cheekbone and not the ball! Everytime I went for a header after that I was concerned the same would happen again. I hope he makes full recovery as its his job but I think he just may not be as full blooded and committed in the future as he was here since that injury.

Last night at the Ressie game Merrington and pal Woods? were in and out of the players area and seemed well in - does anyone know who Woods is and what his involvement is? One nipper shouted to Merrington about taking over but he ducked away quickly. There were a number of players agents there last night and one watching was the old West Ham and QPR player Paul Goddard. I had a quick Google but couldn't see anything that told me who he had on his list is there a way to find out.
-
Agreed its all crap and just hypothetical anyway.....Hockaday has never been number one but apart from Watford who play a different style totally to us where has he done well? Gray and Wigley also had far greater resources than many of the managers/coaches than others and still couldn't hack it nor could Dodd or Gorman. As I said all crap anyway and I was impressed on Saturday and believe if we get points on the board soon we will start to zoom up the table and do well this year....I just have major concerns over the strength of the squad.
-
It will be Hockaday the groundwork on the OS was done pre-season...its what we do promote the decent coaches into a role they can't hack we have a history at it!
-
Not sure if that first bit was aimed at me considering you quoted my report but read it again if it is and you will see my report almost matches yours!
-
No he actually did get a kick on the ankle and went of for treatment....came back on and charged into a tackle, fouled the bloke..stayed on for a few more moments then was replaced by the far better Paterson.
-
The morale bit was the thing that struck me most tonite, I have watched the Ressies for many years and in recent years its been the only shining beacon...yet tonite we players arguing, moaning at each other and some so off form it was pitiful. Certainly had me ****ed off on the drive home....plus all those bloody vultures stood behind me didn't help my morale either ;-)

Thanks guys thats more like it...Richmond it is then.

That was a bit poor to be honest, although Reading were a very good side we were very sloppy and careless giving the ball away too many times when in decent positions. I left when it got to 3-0 to Reading as I had to get my lad home, the evening didn't start too well when I was told I couldnt park at the ground due to there being loads of scouts coming. Ok can understand that but when I saw these scouts were from the might Bournemouth ( Bond), Aldershot, Luton(Mick Harford as well), Brighton(Adams) and Swansea it makes you wonder how much we will make from them! Coppell was watching his side and must of been impressed with what he saw. Bart - was poor for me and I was worried whenever a cross came into the box, 2 of the goals were down to him staying on his line rather than coming and collecting it. Some decent shot stopping but very shakey and gave me no confidence if KD goes. Hatch - Ok going forward but was beaten too easily on several occasions out wide. Fish - One of the only bright lights on a poor night - will be very good in a year or two Lancashire - Did Ok but not ready for the first team Racine - Big lad and some good headers but looks shakey against any pace. Oscar Gobern - Good start and looks comfortable on the ball but gives away too many fouls with hands on players. Jake - Some good play from Jake but was guilty of several sloppy passing and crossing. Rudi - Shocking ..tried and put himself about but bloody awful IMO. BWP - Cost us the first goal with a shocking touch that put several players out of position - way off form and wouldnt put him anywhere near the first team on this display. Euell - kept battling and trying to encourage the young players not his best and went close on a few occasions probably one of three to get near the first team on tonites squad. Jamie White - Got in some good p[ositions and some good runs but again some sloppy passing wasted positions. I was glad when Paterson came on for Rudi as this lad looks good, he battles has a decent touch and gets stuck in - nowhere near ready yet but a good prospect. We had several good chances and our approach play was good but poor last pass or cross or decent goalkeeping saw us have a heavy defeat. Wayne Thomas and Paul Wotton were there watching and I spoke with Thomas who has been told along with several players they are surplus to requirements. I fully understand the position we are in but if we get any injuries we are truly buggered.
-
I am hopefully going tonite so will let you know! The thing also about pre-season doesn't also matter too much for us a Ladysaint said..we always waste it, however, looking at the side Saturday McGoldrick, Llalana, Gillette, James, Thomson plus the other subs have played together for years so do know each others games far better than many of the sides we have had at the start of the season in recent years.
-
Well what else are we meant to do with 2 players that we can't shift on? They are decent players and if people cut out all this bullcrap about total football and see what actually is happening on the pitch just maybe we will get somewhere. Euell had a pretty decent pre-season and could be a good addition to the squad up front as a sub - has height and can score goals - Wolves away last minute? Why do people expect anything else but hype from the OS do they expect them to say....we can't sell them because they are crap and no-one else will be mug enough to pay them?
-
But we are paying that sort of money spread over several seasons not at once. There is also the fact that Morgans sell on will be substantially higher than what we could hope for from AD.
-
Well as I actually asked for advice on things like trains, tube, car parking rather than going on a tirade about Fat Frank it wasn't much help especially as I had the tickets and can't return them. I probably agree with most of what you say anyway but its just keeping a promise to my lad about taking him to Wembley for an England game if his exam results were good and am unlikely to get tickets for a qualifying game.
-
My opinion only based on what I saw yesterday was that if we can pull together a few wins we will be flying. I base that on the excellent passing I saw in the first half - in fact far more than I saw the whole of last year. There were quite a few times we only had one or two in the box and others were holding back...once we have a few points they will get in there more. We now have a bit of pace and creativity - I thought McGoldrick created 3 chances by actually looking up and picking out players - Gillett could of scored but for a fine save from Taylor, another shot blocked and a John free header all from McGoldricks intelligent play which was far better than Dyers headless chicken blasting crosses. I was impressed by Morgan, Gillett and of course Killer who has lost none of that will to win and was good to see him get pushed forward in the last 5 trying to add a bit up front - just a shame we didn't have another forward on the bench a big mistake I think. I lost it with a right plum on the way out of the ground who asked why everyone was clapping when we lost.....we certainly do have our fair share of them. I think we all should of boo'ed them off fancy losing against Birmingham with their tuppenny bit side I mean Phillips, Owusu, Jerome, Larrson, Carsley, Bent, Ridgewell, Taylor are all pants and wouldn't get in any other CC side would they!
