Teh rate your weekend fred *Sponsored by infraction points*

The Horns is the nearest pub to me...in fact I live next door to the landlord but I tend to use the Bedes Lea more I like the Hobgoblin real ale they have at the moment. The scary quote was at some of the costumes that made the regulars look that way. -

Are we better off than when Crouch was here?
Give it to Ron replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Not being funny but why? Pearson was involved as assistant manager to England under 21s. He also introduced several youngsters last season remember Lallana was our goalscorer away at West Brom last season - he had been missed a chunk of the season with a re-occuring calf injury so youngsters were being picked. -
Preston 2-3 Saints - You've Gotta be Havin' a Laugh
Give it to Ron replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
A great day..my nippers team won 8-0, Saints win 3-2 ...Skates lose to a Heskey goal and have just been to see the latest Bond movie. I can't listen to us on the radio so like a sad git watched the live video printer roll on Skysports and went mental at Surmans goal then even more at McGoldricks. Well done JP you ****ed up the substitutions the other night but I hear you were spot on today - really pleased to hear Oscar played so well as Navyred and I have been praising him a bit this season. For those of you that havn't seen him I reckon he is a bit like Carlton Palmer but far more talented and far less ugly!! -

What about the wages of Pekhart, Forecast, Gasmi, Pulis, Robertson, Smith plus all the loan fees and agents fees we have paid for thenm? Could we not have saved some of that to pay and kept one of our goal scorers? Again its quantity of quality we might get back to having the 41 squad number shirts in the shop soon! -
Who needs a fag packet when I can write everything I know about football on this large piece of paper.

Well I miss the old Friday quiz from Keiths forum....

Read the post again...I said GB, Dodd and Gorman had us in the bottom three...not when they left its not an unusual sight for a Saints fan and any manager can get us there!
-
Sorry I never meant it to sound like he wasn't doing well and I thought he looked good in a couple of games but reading some of the posts on here it makes him sound like a cross between MLT and Maradona! He did give us a good pattern of play down the left and I do think we have missed him but until we get more players into the box on the end of crosses and shore up the ridiculous defence that can't win a header we will not get out of the bottom 3. Hopefully Pearce can help here ....Nick have you heard any whispers about an experienced defender possibly coming....ex Liverpool, Blackburn, Leeds and Stoke??
-
As did Burley, Dodd/Gorman.....at least Pearson got us out of it! Can you see us getting out of it soon? Interesting to see that Holmes is this seasons magical awesome player now that he has been injured yet the one I saw play was crossing the ball into the box with just one attacker against four defenders how many goals did we score from his play! Derby must be cursing their luck letting such a great player go.
-
No idea but he was at the recent reserve game against Brighton on crutches and I asked him as he walked by as to what he had done and how long he was out for. There were a few others there as well who heard it but no idea if they post on here.

Thomas is not expected to be fit for 7 months, he has just had his cruciate repaired and has several micro fractures.....he told me this himself so pretty much factual ;-)

A thread for the deliberate stay away's only!
Give it to Ron replied to Tac-tics's topic in The Saints
Ok I am not a stay away although I have left before the end twice this year but am bored so... If I was a footballer I wouldn't give a toss if it was one man and his dog or 30,000 as long as I got my wages! That is the players mentality these days..its money nothing else and loyalty is only for fans. -
Letting a novice take the first penalty in the play-offs! Mine would of been putting so much faith in Burley only to see it blow up in my face after 6 months of his abysmal tenure.

I think he is tactically naive.....we nearly still lost every header in the box last night and had no plan and nothing changed from the away game up there or the Watford game. Davis constantly stayed on his line for the long throws when I would of had him come for them - he has hands FFS and gets protected like no other player. Some players were out on their feet last night and he left it far too late for any substitutions allowing them back in the game. I know his hands are tied for some players but these are his tactics that are failing and he looks almost Burleyesque with no plan B and substitution in injury time!! PS I do not advocate for one minute replacing him.....as if we could or if Rupert would abandon the Dutch duo...just that he needs to learn and quick.
-
Having watched him in the reserves with the young lads he certainly seems to help them and they seem to respect him as well. Considering he has only had a couple of games to get match fit since long term out I thought he did well last night.
-
That might of been me as thats exactly what I said and felt - how many times did we cross the ball into the box and only had DMG surrounded by 4 defenders in there? After we scored for ten minutes we looked out on our feet - DMG had run himself ragged and to put him out on the wing was mental as it allowed them more space in front of Lloyd. We should of gone 4-4-2 with Pekhart, DMG up the middle and Smith and BWP on the wings pushing them back - playing the same formation allowed them to keep coming at us. JP wound me up with his after match talk.....its your bloody tactics that are causing us to fail.
-
I was told from a reliable source (no won't give that out on here) that he gives JP a list of players that he can pick the team from - this list is based on what we can afford wages wise. JP picks the team and manages it from there on in.
-
So explain to me then how we can afford the 5 I have named on another thread! All have agents all want a cut of the deal?

Is anyone else numb with saints at the mo
Give it to Ron replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Numb yes..care yep still do very much but I am not going to take much more. What other club lets its 2 previous seasons goalscorers go on loan? Sorry all this about no money etc is fine but how come we can afford Forecast, Gasmi, Pulis, Robertson, Smith then? You cannot keep letting go of your better experienced players and still survive with kids its madness. In the reserve match the other night there was only one player who looked as though they could step up in the near future and that was Immudia and he is small. Paterson is exempt from that ....he will be ready next season. -
The other thing that surprises me in all this is that the Brighton Reserve keeper was twice as good as Bart in the game the other night. He never fumbled once, commanded his area, constantly spoke or shouted ****** to his back four to keep them on their toes and his distribution was as good.
-
I hope someone has told JP because last night he said that Stern was our penalty taker from now on! That or he doesn't think we will get one until his loan has finished and he will come back and take them ;-)
-
6-8 pm its usually with Mark(Psyhco) but he is away golfing with a lot of Hants cricketers in Portugal this week - they had the very good David Armstrong last night.

Guests on The Brothers show are....JP and Killer could be interesting questioning them if given the opportunity.
