  1. You dont waste money bringing in loan players who are not good enough and dont get picked above untried 17 year olds!
  2. Well everything maybe sweetness and light with your rose tinted glasses on but those of us in the real world realise we are in deep ****e! You may be happy watching the turgid dross served up in the first half and the inability to hit the target from 10 yards in the second but some of us want better results than 1 win in 8! 5 wins out of 20 home games. Don't give me all this happy clappy crap as I have been watching this team home and away since the mid 60's. Yes I am aware the managers hands are tied but saying its a phsycological problem is ridiculous its tactics and the inability to put the right formation on at the right time...sorry but I am still fuming after Saturdays first half show when he was happy to just let it ride.
  3. Alan Curbishley?
  4. But last night they chose to...BWP and Euell may not be everyones cup of tea but they are far more experienced and available instead of throwing kids in every week. Lazy and waste of space strikers who score over 20 goals a season are better than ones that constantly miss the target from 10 yards like ours do. That lazy waste of space striker who scored 2 goals to keep us up in the last game! Wages are not the only factor in those loans Nick what about the clubs loan fees and the agents who all demand a cut? Sorry didn't mean it to get personal its just I am so bloody angry after last night and I know you just want to see the best in the club but its hell at the moment and its not working and I take no pleasure in this. My lad is Saints through and through and even got on the pitch the other week at half time taking penalties....he talked me into renewing our ST's...now he has had enough and doesn't want to go anymore as its so bloody awful watching us lose. 20 games 5 wins 5 draws and 10 defeats at home says it all
  5. Actually Pearson was restricted in picking Lallana last season like most managers here as he had a re-occuring calf injury that meant he wasn't available or match fit. Look it up on the OS you know you love to dig up facts in your quest.
  6. How many has he scored this season plus he is a midfielder not a forward!
  7. Who would he want? ;-)
  8. Can I also add how may clubs would also loan out their top goalscorers for the past 2 seasons when the ones they have can't hit a cows arse with a banjo! Use lack of money as an excuse yet bring in 5 loanees who cannot get near the side.
  9. or Sturrock and Wigley not a good record is it!
  10. I disagree and that is why I get so angry at games, I no longer enjoy them but just get angry and frustrated at the total incompetence I watch from this management. We have or had the players available to do a job yesterday but totally wasted 55 minutes of a game we needed to win sticking with a formation that has seen 1 home win out of 8 games.
  11. Well we could of saved some of those 100k's a week by not wasting it on loanees that are not good enough to get on the pitch ahead of an untried 17 year old with one half a game under his belt. I rate Oscar but he needs nurturing not thrown in a game we desperately needed to win when we had other options. Why sign Smith, Forecast, Robertson plus the complete waste of time Gasmi and Pulis. Gasmi won't be ready for ages and looking at the size of him will get launched into row ZZ in the first game he gets near a hairy arse CC defender. I cannot believe that the sum total of these 5 are less than what we would pay Stern.....including the agents fees, clubs loan fees etc. We loan out our 2 top strikers and are still losing 100ks a week? If we had kept them and actually won a few more games then more people would actually come and watch.....a revolutionary idea I know to put out a side with your best players.
  12. Did mine a few years ago...Jon Gittens the ex Saints player took mine and was the most miserable bastard you have ever met! Its easy if you pay attention and do the drills and watch the DVD...always make sure you have your pads!!
  13. TBF though Nick I think they were both at fault KD had lost his way here and was homesick for the North. His ankle injury seemed to slow him and he had become very lazy and the crowd were recognising this. I remember reading the Bolton site at the time and they were not too impressed with the signing of The Pieman so he has proved everyone wrong and good for him. I remember one home defeat to West Ham when he came on and the ball was less than 15 yards away and he just stood and watched to howls of derision from the fans at that time - mind you he had played a blinder in the previous game and was only sub in this game!!
  14. I think its just apathy and the state the club is in - look at the UI there used to be some really good chat and banter when Vasco, Moschops, Dot, Bent Eric, Tonesus etc used to post. Nowadays they are reliant on 2 Skates and the multi-user ID Chester Perry for 99% of the threads.
  15. I totally disagree he was given the chance to show what he could do on several occasions and he was pants! I missed about 4 Reserve games in in 3 years around that time and he had probably a handful of decent games and did nothing to show that he should of been kept on. In what divisions though has he scored a lot of goals and at what standard? All clubs let players go and have had occasions where that player goes on and does things better elsewhere - in some cases it gives them a kick up the arse. As for arrogance he used to strut around and complain at others when he wasn't doing it himself.
  16. Having watched him loads of times I could see at that time why we released him - his ego was as big as the massive shorts he wore and certainly wasn't as good as he believed he was. In fact apart from Brighton away and maybe 2 decent reserve games he was too small and lightweight. Remember we were in a far higher position than we are now and were constantly buying in players from all over the globe - we had around 41 squad players for the first team. If you want a better option than him look at Brian Howerd - sometimes being released gives them the kick up the arse they need. He seems to have knuckled down and moved around a bit and finally found his level so fair play to him but at that time the decision to release him was correct IMO.
  17. Just to save you looking anymore ...it was me that spoke to him at the Bristol reserve game! He is out for at least 7 months with cruciate repair operation and micro fractures. The point you seem to miss Nick in your quest to stop anyone having a word against the club is the fact that the OS have not seen fit to tell the fans this and I have heard several calls and chats on the radio and on here asking where he is and why he is not playing!
  18. Some people were suggesting this in September ;-) 26-09-2008, 02:16 PM Window Cleaner Window Cleaner is offline Full Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: hiding in shadows where I don't belong Posts: 1,368 Default Quote: Originally Posted by Give it to Ron View Post We are only getting a walk up crowd(non ST's) of 4-5k at the moment - just wondering if they offered the March madness deal now on a pro rata basis if many would take it up? You seem reasonable and flexible, others aren't quite as adult. It's a Catch 22 situation, whatever they do will always alienate somebody who will no doubt use whatever means are at his (or her) disposal to whip up support for an anti-club campaign.
  19. Adrian 'b8st8rd' Heath have never ever forgiven him and never will!!
  20. Again no mention of Wayne Thomas its almost like he doesn't exist here anymore must be great for his morale.
  21. Cheers for that Navyred...good to here Jeffrey having another good game as he has impressed me every time I have seen him this season...if only he was 2ft taller! But then again he makes up for that by good reading of the game and timing. Also good to her Pato got another one as I think next season he will be our main striker whatever division we are in.
  22. Like others have said treat it as an opportunity - I have been made redundant 4 times now and used the money to move house. I have changed career path many times going from import/exports-cleaning-furnaceman-accounts and now into IT for IBM. I worked for BG and Phillips and redundant from both. I have worked for a US bank and had an all expenses paid trip to the US. It seems really crap now mate and I feel sorry for you but keep your chin up and stay positive something good may come of this.
  23. I threatened to quit when SSN was taken off and they upgraded me to the XL package phone broadband and cable for £32 a month and pretty good service really.
  24. Its only Tuesday...how many do we sell for away games that early?
