Did you just see his debut for Derby....yep thats the Powell we all know and love!
-
So tell me are happy with our home wins and results and what has only playing 1 up front at home got to do with the bank - we had other options. You were happy that we again put out the wrong formation and gave up the chance of another win against Wolves by playing a too inexperienced player in Gobern and the poor Lancashire instead of BWP and Perry..how was that the banks decision..its not it the manager that keeps getting it wrong at home. I have applauded him in some of his interviews and he has said some really good things but actions speak louder than words and I have praised him greatly when I have seenn his tactics work. Every man and his dog of the 14,000 that goes to home games can see that we play some nice football but it does not hurt the opposition and the formation encourages the away team to push on. Yes he has to make tough decisions but in several games this year he has chosen the kids when he has had more experienced players available. A great result yesterday and no-one was as happy as I was - but if we again leave McGoldrick isolated on his own up front on Tuesday and give it away again like against Coventry when we were leading and didn't change the struggling formation then yesterday would again been another false dawn. One of those one brained cell fans who can tell when a manager gets it wrong and praises when its right!

Reading V Saints Post Match thoughts and reaction
Give it to Ron replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
Superb result but not getting carried away, sounds like what most of us wanted last week with Perry and BWP starting with Robertson wide gave us the extra man forward with pace. It pushes them back and annoys me greatly that we could of beaten Wolves last week with the right players in that formation at home. Lets hope no silly changes for Tuesday - come on you reds lets get another home win now. -
I remember back in the late 70's when there were a couple of BIG US aircraft carriers in and their MPs threw a big cordon round the then notorious Derby Rd area - all that happened was the pimps and girls came out across the cordon. Since they have clamped down the red light district al its done is drive them into other areas. Oldest profession will never die. Not that I have ever been to one - although did get propositioned going into the RSH visiting once, right in front of my mum and dad which was nice!

I spoke to Wayne at the Brighton reserve game and he has a bad injury - he has had an opertaion to repair his achilles that ruptured I believe and had a few other micro fractures. He told me that he was expected to be out for about 7 months. Nothing to do with appearances and money this time.
-
Thanks for posting that again and brought back memories of when we had some great players to cheer. I had always thought Martin was in goal that day not Gerry Gurr who I used to watch loads in the reserves as a nipper - he had a fantastic leap and catch that I have never forgotten - strange thing schoolboy football memories. I had the pleasure of playing against Sydie a few years ago...more than a few ..a game that also included Jimmy Gabriel and although I had played at Hampshire league level these guys still run rings round us. Great memories of Big Ron my all time hero.

Really so when Wolves scored their second goal and looked like rampaging through our defence you still thought we were ok....jeesh those rose tinted glasses of yours must have very dark coatings. Without the sending off and the change of formation bringing on BWP we would of continued to be ripped apart. What annoys me is the fact that fans like you are happy to bury your heads when its the manager that keeps getting it wrong. I believe had we had BWP and Perry at the back from the start we would of actually not given them the impetus and encouragement to attack us.
-
If we are so skint how come we have recruited players(11 I believe) many that cant get near the first team ahead of untried 17 year olds?
-
But why do we always have to concede the first half because of his stupid team selections again. Oscar is a very talented youngster who they are destroying he is not ready in a side already obver loaded with kids by throwing him in again this week. He had a good 20 min spell at Preston where he had no pressure or time to get nervous and played well. Last week he was abysmal...so why start him at home in front of an already angry crowd against the top of the league team? Lancashire is not up to playing this league against brusing forwards and is too lightweight. He spent most of the first half with his arm in the air and not challenging. The argument about no money does not hold if you have the wrong man in charge who cannot get it right. Every week you see us start at home 4-5-1 with the supposed wide men getting forward to make it 4-3-3 but how often do you see them in the box...never. I would bet that unless it was a corner no-one apart from Lallana or Euell get in there - Surman hovers outside. We then go mad for the last 20 minutes and push sides back with 2 up and then next week revert back to the same old formation that is not working. The ref took away what was actually wrong yesterday and I am convinced if we had started BWP with his pace out wide it would of pushed Kightley etc back - with Gobern on it allowed them to have the extra foward to command the game.

What did Duncan (Fitzhugh Fella) say on Radio Hampshire?
Give it to Ron replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I heard it and he came across very well. He just said what he has said on here before really. He mainly mentioned the fact along with Psycho that people like Askham, Richards, Windsor-Clive and the other share holders should vote against loveable old rosey cheeks and oust him as he is a devisive figure for the fans and ruining the club that is on the verge of going under. -

BWP was a no show and replaced by Jordan Robertson. Good show put up by the players this year although they still lost 43-37 - sound familiar? Cork had a large plaster across his nose after a training ground incident where he got hit on the nose but should be fit for Saturday. He reckoned the Bolton rumour was just made up by a lazy journalist. Homes started running this week and hopes to be back in 3-4 weeks. Robertson is now full fit after chest and throat infections laid him out. Usain Bolt picture was excellent and went for £310. Signed Steven Gerrard picture went for £98 Saints shirt and matchball both signed £75. Anna Ivanovic tennis dress that was a shocking blue and horrible went for £95 A good nights entertainment. -
Does Pulis have another son that plays football?

No it was only 22m ....but whats 3m when you don't have a pot to **** in or have a ramshackle tin shed that only fit to house inbred fish ****ers and no sign of moving out of it.
-
Really ..I had not realised that....I responded to the Skate who said they(Billionaires etc) did not do Fizzy Pop clubs well last time I looked QPR were a fizzy pop club whether they are in London or Devon they are in the CCC so the Skate was talking out of his arse as usual.
-
Really I wonder if QPR know that....oh yeah typical Skate facts wrong again!
-
Ok maybe there was an overeaction ...especially as Michael Wilde has corrected the error but it was the triumphing of where this player came from and by who he was discovered by that really got to me - was that necessary when we get players in on trial regularly. But then I am tetchy when it comes to Mr Wilde as he sold me down the river and I get angry with myself for falling for all his bull**** in the first place.
-
Thanks for that I will hold you too it...... Actually I can see you are hurting as much as the rest of us! The thing is I see posts blaming fans for this that and the other when if you take one foot in SMS as am sure you do going by your posts you know there is nothing but support and no booing. We have had nothing but crap at home to cheer about apart from the odd sporadic win 20 games and 5 wins I saw posted. Then to see we are signing some lad on the pitch who no-one has heard of when we are crying out for a bit of experience most felt it was another kick in the balls especially when it was triumphed by the man I hold responsible for the latest debacle. 11 players signed so far and how many have been decent or worthwhile yet still 14,000 nutters turn up and give nothing but support on match day thats why I overreacted to a slur on the good supporters of this club they dont deserve anything but praise in my eyes.
-
Why don't you actually read what is written before attacking the fans as usual? Nearly all the posts are nothing to do with his ability but the ridiculous signing on the pitch - where this lad has been playing and where he was scouted from even though he has been turned down several times. This forum is becoming even more of a joke with people like you blaming everything on the fans and nothing at where the real issues lie.
-
Thats not the point mate ..its to satisfy the ego of our football chairman as nothing else matters here - Look who I have uncovered.... Perhaps we should send Mr Wilde out onto the fields at Test Park and Millbrook Rec on a Saturday as he is such a talent spotter. This is not writing off Boyle but are you telling me that an 18 year old hasn't been spotted before? I know 8/9 year olds that have been approached by Chelsea already.
-
You dont waste money bringing in loan players who are not good enough and dont get picked above untried 17 year olds!
-
Does Jan actually have a clue what he is doing?
Give it to Ron replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Well everything maybe sweetness and light with your rose tinted glasses on but those of us in the real world realise we are in deep ****e! You may be happy watching the turgid dross served up in the first half and the inability to hit the target from 10 yards in the second but some of us want better results than 1 win in 8! 5 wins out of 20 home games. Don't give me all this happy clappy crap as I have been watching this team home and away since the mid 60's. Yes I am aware the managers hands are tied but saying its a phsycological problem is ridiculous its tactics and the inability to put the right formation on at the right time...sorry but I am still fuming after Saturdays first half show when he was happy to just let it ride. -
Alan Curbishley?
