It was Cees Lok last time with Wotte http://archive.dailyecho.co.uk/2005/12/30/97207.html Another thing to blame Wigley for ;-)

Just for those that peddle out the "we can't afford Cotterill". Dismiss Jan, Gorre, Wotte as 3 cost less than Pearson the compensation wont be that much. Get Rid of Smith, Pekhart, Gasmi, Pulis. Open up the beer bars at half-time against Man Utd you wasted last Saturday! the money would be enough to pay at least one weeks wages. Rupert you are being paid for 2 days work a week and lets be honest its failing dismally so why not reduce it to one - you can do 2 days in one if you plan your time better just concentrate on the urgent stuff like a decent manager and sending out p60s.

I tell you it does not come easy after nearly 40 years of watching the firsts, stiffs and u18s! I was SOOO angry Saturday night that when I left just before the whistle it took ages for me to calm down and a few beers. All this plastic crap is just that - if we were winning and being entertained then we would have gates like Saturday but the dross that is being served up is driving away the most loyal. I cannot justify over £500 just to get angry and watch this complete shower I would rather play golf or watch a non-league side as the quality isn't that much different! All this emotional blackmail stuff posted on here is just all ******** and should be treated that as that. No-one wants to see us in this position but its been done by years of mis-management by all parties and we need to clear the lot out. I cannot see how anyone can keep sticking up for this lot after Saturday - I have been saying for ages this guy is tactically naive and this game proved it. Holmes for BWP the guy hasn't played a competitive game for 3 months and he gets picked in the most important game in recent weeks! So come April and Early Bird there are certainly 2 that will not get renewed and if that makes me plastic after 40 years then so be it and I will pick and choose my games with the rest.

Why would JP walk out of a well paid job in this climate - where is he to go from here? He was plucked from nowhere (apologies to Dutch football) and that is where he will go back to. This is his big payday its not just him that needs to go as Wotte and Gorre also need to follow and lets get in someone that can actually influence a game not look like a frightened rabbit every week.

I am in the last bit, all the fight has gone along with my resolve to watch the abysmal team and will not renew my 2 ST's as I have had enough. I don't blame the players so much its that they are being let down by off the pitch idiots who couldn't run a **** up in a brewery. We were abysmal yet look how long it took to make a substitution! BWP has been pretty good out on the left in the last few games yet gets dropped for a bloke that was clearly unfit and off the pace. When Holmes did get the ball in the box we had 1 striker in there - 4-3-3 - 4-5-1 my arse the players have no idea what they are playing let alone the crowd. I left feeling even more angy than I have done from any game previously at the sheer incompetence of how we are being managed.

So again Lowe does what he did under Strachan instead of bringing in 2 quality players on decent money we buy 6 sub-standard ones. Forecast, Smith(ok injured but did we need a lightweight winger), Gasmi, Pekhart, Pulis have all been such great additions. This club always throws away opportunities - in the Kingsland they again had the bottle bar closed at half time when there were hundreds queing or not bothering - about £2 profit per bottle after wages etc then why throw away at least a grand in lost beer money.
-
Now this made me smile given old rosey cheeks history of getting good deals. "An announcement was expected in the current week, however in the final stages it proved more difficult than originally anticipated to negotiate acceptable terms for the candidate to leave his current club."

will we convert to 4-4-2 in january?

Then there is Pulis, Gasmi and Forecast....all of which adds additional costs and could of kept us our proven goalscorer? -
How would we be better without Lowe (this time!)
Give it to Ron replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Hmm Ok I agree in principle that there is not a lot we can do and HAVE to support the team but why do we have to have Dutch experiments and do things no other things other clubs try in really important seasons? Why SCW ? Why JP and Wotte in a season when we knew most of the senior players were out of contract and had to cut our cloth? Why does he have to be the figurehead when he could of put in his own man to run things and not alienate the fan base and lose even more customers even if its just 10x£500 which would of been enough to keep on the tea lady. -

Exactly and my even bigger beef when you consider 5 loanees cant get a game ahead of a 17 year old either. I cannot understand how some think that 5 loanees and another coach including agents fees, loan fees and wages equates to less than a proven 20 goal a season scorer like Stern John - utter madness. -

When you bring Gillett on for McGoldrick is that 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 because its certainly not any obsession on my part to play 4-4-2 just stupid management. Especially when there was height on the bench to counter the long ball that the other team were playing all game and Gillett won all the headers after he came on? If its the players fault why did the manager not tell them or change the personnel that were not doing as they were told or is that not his job anymore. -

Coventry, Plymouth, Sheff Wednesday there are 3 games. In 2 we stayed with 1 up - the wide men were not pushing forward and getting in the box and that left 4 defenders to win the ball easily and play over our tiny midfield to the big strikers who knocked it back for a midfielder to score or thread a ball through. Against Plymouth we had Pearce on the bench who could of been brought on upfront for the last 10 minutes and had a go with his aerial presence instead we stayed static and toothless. -
But we do have the finances by shipping out those failed loans..Wotte, JP, Gorre etc to bring in someone with a bit more tactical knowledge and experience of the CCC. The only way to get the crowd back at home is to win games and how many games have we drawn or lost at home due to the managers lack of tactics. A midget for the last 15 minutes against a side pumping the ball forward was a prime example. Plus leaving an untried 18 year old against 4 massive defenders then people moaning that he wasn't chasing down. Coventry at home where we had players out on their feet and not replaced despite having 2 subs available and waiting till they equalised before then changing it. I do however agree with you that Lowe will not back down this is all irrelevant but this is a football forum and a good place to air our frustrations and thoughts.
-
Are you being serious? No viable alternative to a manager that has overseen 1 home win in 11? Has us 4th bottom - we have bought in yet another coach to help him and brought in 5 players that are so poor can't get in over untried 17 year olds? No-one is advocating bringing the 'Chosen one' but to say that there is no alternative to this failing Dutch experiment is a joke.

Spot on ...KD had lost all motivation here and craved a return back up North. When he went to Bolton initially on trial/loan he was not exactly met with warm applause and welcome. He was apalling in several games and couldn't be arsed to do anything - I watched him in several reserve games in front of WGS etc and he put no effort into his performances at all. Blame WGS for some things and I do for Leandre Griffit who scored on his debut and was flying in the reserves and then got dropped for ages after but KD's time here was up and he has benefitted greatly moving closer to his family.

Well those of us that have been married a while know the two don't go together ;-)

Top 5 best and worst player to play for saints in CCC
Give it to Ron replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Powell has to be in everyones list as I can hardly think of a worst player than him - what a terrible waste of a signing and wages. I was gobsmacked when we renewed his contract. I remember in a pre-season game at Eastleigh where we trialled that giant that went to Bristol City? Powell spent all game moaning and groaning at defenders when he did bugger all himself and was outshone by part timers. Notable mentions again to Hammill who jinked and stepped over as good as Mr Wu and just about as much end product goalwise. To be fair to GB he did send him on to the right a few times but the plumb was so fat he couldnt get across the pitch to take up his position. Lancashire is young but has been abysmal in games I have seen him and far too lightweight for this league. Jermaine in midfield was atrocious but half decent at right back. Pericard was like a tortoise on valium, couldn't be arsed to chase or do anything for his wages. Good Players Kenwyne Theo Bale Baird Stern ( a real goalscorer) -
The table dosen't lie Jan,wake up, please.

I can't see where the good chance comes from - we have won 1 in 11 at home. Forest are on a decent run now and will not roll over and we could not beat the worst Sheff Wednesday team I have ever seen. They were not interested in the first half and were there for the taking. -
God the people on this forum are ridiculous...

No because I just dont enjoy it anymore - I have been going since 1963 and had a season ticket for years. But this year I get angrier every week because its just so bloody frustrating watching a side who are giving their all but are being let down off the pitch. A manager that constantly makes the wrong team selections and tactics at home 1 win all season. A board that is all about egos..why appoint 2 untried managers in this country for one of the most important seasons in the clubs history. All the decent players out on loan yet we bring in 5 players who can't or are so bad will not get picked wasting agent and loans fees as well as wages that could of kept us a proven goalscorer here. I cannot justify £500 next season on something that is now a chore to do rather than a pleasure. I will still go to games as its in the blood and continue to watch the kids in reserve games but my 2 ST will not be renewed.

Radio Hampshire -only heard bit again- transfer news

The bit I heard was that Jan hopes to strengthen his squad before Christmas -
Wrong as|I have pointed out to you before but it doesnt suit your witchhunt agenda. http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/forum.topic.bythread.php?id_t=45569&piece=topic45569&id_categ=37 Club Member Posts: 3216 Joined: 13/08/2007 Glenn, Sam, and Rupert.. You may recall in the week running up to our great escape, I mentioned that I would be seeing Dave Hoddle(Glenn's uncle) and John Radford whilst I was in Bishops Stortford. We did meet up at the Bell in Stansted, although JR was only there for 20 mins or so, I did have a 2 hour conversation with Dave Hoddle. Inevitably the subject of Glenn, Rupert and Southampton came up. In the press there are stories of Rupert replacing NP with Glenn, or Sam Allardyce. So let's look at it, for what it's worth, thanks to Dave's input, I think we can dismiss both of these rumours. Rupert and Glenn are not so close as you would imagine.. 1..It still rankles Rupert the way Glenn left Southampton to join Spurs. 2..Glenn blames Lowe entirely, for the breakdown of his return here, prior to the Sturrock appointment. Yes, I know that fans resistance to Hoddle was blamed, and still is. But that's a myth, Rupert made the decision not to proceed, and since when has fan pressure influenced him? One or two directors voiced their nervousness of the appointment, but again since when did Lowe let that worry him? Rupert's decision was made entirely on a medical report, that still to this day, is very relevant to Glenn's ability to perform the day to day duties as team manager/coach. 3...Glenn Hoddle's only became aware that he hadn't got the appointment came when he saw the pictures of Sturrock on the pitch at SMS on TV. He immediately rang his agent to find out what was occurring, his agent then rang SFC to speak to Lowe. A row ensued, and Rupert was accused of betraying Glenn. He retorted that he (agent), and his client," were fine examples of loyalty considering the way he left in the first place" 4...Since then, the only contact that Glenn and Rupert has had, according to his uncle, have been at a couple of official functions. Both have been strained. Thanks Patred.

He is not coming but sending another trialist with as much chance of us signing Hakuna Matata
