Played against him at school...absolutely light years ahead of anything in our team or his. Stuffed us 3-0 which was rare as we had a good side.

Strange rumour on Chester fans forum ...

Don't want that Arse shaving bloke he's a lazy bastard ;-) -
Sorry this was on 606 that bastian of truth that we actually had a bid of £1.2 m or can you provide the link for that as from what I can see it was far less.
-
I used to park in M&S for Rosebowl matches but then got warned away by the parking warden. Last Sunday I paid the £7 to park outside the ground which for all day isn't bad but does anyone know of anything cheaper..don't mind a bit of a walk.

Have you thought of getting sponsorship for this event....Awaysaint could be your assistant in a Debbie McGee sort of thing?

You may find this handy as I used it when we went in November. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=534197 We stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Tribeca which was small but very clean and in the real NY area not the touristy bits. Great deli opposite and decent bars around the hotel area. Has a subway stop right outside and 15 mins from Times Square. book through HotelConnexions for the cheapest rate.

Yeah sorry double posted got distracted by bloody work!

The trouble with additional revenue streams is in our case we have hardly had any success with them, radio station, insurance were a total failure. I could not understand why we have not utilised the stadium more for concerts, theatre productions, religous festivals, ice skating.
-
Ok you may believe that but personally I don't and have judged him solely on his performance and decison making here especially after all those successful things you mentioned above.....you forgot the best academy in the country, top class catering.... I have written to him on many occasions and used to really enjoyed his radio slot on The Saint when we owned that and he answered several questions at that time - Ok the Ask Rupert was a total joke but that was due mainly to his serfs ;-) There are obviously a small few who may but there are always a minority group who go against the grain in all walks of life.

Many of us are now hoping for that white knight to save us, we especially need someone with no previous baggage here. As you say we have never had a choice who owns us as the PLC and the way voting at AGM by the big corporate blocks was carried out we never stood a chance. Its not the fans fault we are where we are..we didnt sanction any of the loans, transfers, high wages or shocking managerial appointments in the past by ALL parties so I just pray we have a clean slate with someone who can get us solvent and out of this horrible mess.
-
Well the last bloke we had that had those attributes was a brilliant success wasn't he....especially on his return....oh! This has nothing to do with class, race or creed just shocking decision making and used as an excuse by some to justify their support for him.

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?
Give it to Ron replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
Unsurprisingly FC I disagree....for me our fate was sealed when we appointed a Dutch revolutionary set up and not kept up the good feeling that we had at the end of the season. Lowe was in a cannot lose situation here with Pearson but just had to go that route. We IMO would of had higher gates and still could of loaned out one or two high earners but we have totally wasted our loan market with 7 players and that has to be due to having management that do not know this league. For every Pericard there was a Wright, Lucketti...and could of bought in some old freebies to supplement the youngsters we had to play. -
John has been with the club many years now and is club president I believe. He attends many games and I always see him at Staplewood if there is a Ressie game. Does anyone know what that role means? Does he have an active role in the running of the club or is it just purely an ambassador role. I guess he is not an exec or anything so doesnt get to vote at all but guidance as he has seen it all in his time. I cant rememebr ever hearing from him at all on the OS/Echo etc. Not aiming a slur at John at all here just trying to see if he is affected in all of this...must break his heart seeing it go the way it has.

So who did LC think would deliver the investment FF? Surely not Salz etc as they appear to have given up from what you posted the other week. If they do not have the funds now then how were they going to do it then. Christ that reads aggressive......not meant that way just a question -

Because it wasn't a lie? He like many believed Fulthorpe as opposed to the other 2 in the list who blatantly did especially Wilde who did nothing but during his time here and who I believe gets away scot free in all this. -

You seem to forget that Crouch believed like many that Fulthorpe would of delivered as promised. -
In answer to the second point....we had just qualified for Europe, 8th in the Premiership, had WGS as manager, why wouldn't they come? 99.9% of footballers are mercenaries and would go anywhere if the price is right look at Skacel for example. Wages were to be paid from either a) trimming down of squad b) cutting lose the big losses from the radio station/insurance arm c) Bridge was never, ever going to stay with Chelsea throwimg megabucks at him

Frank you have me wrong here....I totally accept others are not Luvvies when they stick up for Lowe. I have on many occasions given loveable old rosey cheeks credit for the academy without which we would of been sunk ages ago. I felt and still do that the wage structure did not need to be broken but other enticements were there to be used - whats the difference between having 22 quality players on minimum wage plus decent enticements or 41 players like we had at the set wage? I think with the SCC help Rupert got the stadium up and running that gives me a tingle still when I walk up the steps - I will never forget that Espanyol game at first sight. No what you dont recognise amidst all your rants on Alpine is that YOU dont treat those antis with the same respect you expect afforded to you with your point of view on Lowe thats the reason for my rant at you. I think thats enough for me on this as we will never agree but respect we all have this forum as a release and all post crap at times..

A W reg Metro nice car...until it heavily rained and the door seals were crap meaning I had to bail it out!

Someone will be championing Ian Baird next ;-)

Of course Frank that must be the biggest load of horsepoo you have ever posted. Why did Strachan feel the need to put that in his book he didnt need to pad it out. If there was a choice between believeing WGS who didnt need to write it or believe someone who spends his life apologising and feeling the need to defend Lowe then I know where I sit. WGS didnt want to do another Coventry and he knew the squad we had was poor and Lowes policy then inflated it to 41 quantity of quality that broke the wage budget not structure...brilliant businessman my arse
-
But no-one expected us to go mad and spend anywhere near that.....WGS wanted 11m to spend on Saha and Malbranque but Rupert felt it was wrong to give another club in th same division that much money as it strengthened them...ignoring the fact it would also strengthen us. We then sold Bridge etc and the rest is history. Had we of given WGS the money would he of stayed, would we of kicked on to the next level? No-one knows just like that nut job Dalek never knows whether his Messiah would of been any better here than he did elsewhere like Wolves. But one thing is certain what RL did since has been a catastrophe in alliance with many others but he started the ball rolling IMO.

Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?

Thanks Clapham for putting it in a way I can fathom...IT and computers I can handle but accountancy stumps me.
