  1. Call it the paranoia in me but after that refereree display on Saturday I am wondering whether the league are just looking for any other excuse to do a Luton on us. Mawhinney could of hardly been more pleased with himself last week.
  2. Actually the 4 minutes is not correct...its at least 4 minutes, add on for any substitutions, injuries, time wasting you continue or until Arsenal/Man U equalise ;-)
  3. I was listening to Mike Osman on Radio Hants before the game and he was talking about the next fundraising game...he was not very complimentary about the numpties on here who accused him and Lawrie of dipping their hands into the pot for appearance money! They also interviewed Tessem who stated he again wanted to come back to Saints and felt he could play at that level again. We all want to carry on playing at the level we did at our prime the trouble is time and age sees that we can't and Jo should realise that.
  4. I drove past The Saints pub in Millbrook today and saw a sign. Under New Management opening in May......
  5. Absolutely spot on, I have done a fair bit of refereeing at youth level and I thought he was atrocious although its a tough job and you can never win. After 20 minutes a mate of mine who sits a few feet away shouted to me that he felt the league had almost directed him not to let us win! One occasion one of our players was kicked up in the air the ref never spoke to him just waved him away. He then booked one of their players for protesting over a free kick. Its ok to break a leg but not to appeal....it felt like everytime we tackled we got booked then they walked away scot free. Ok a bit paranoic but when you battling away for survival that how it looked. Paterson may have been fouled but the swan dive was theatrical and almost as though the ref couldnt wait to give that penalty. I sit along the 6 yard line and the second goal was offside - the ball played to the far post I looked straight acros as he kicked it and he was a foot offside. It was not a free kick against us anyway as James was fouled earlier in that incident. No excuses for not winning we had the chances and blew it but the refs first half perfprmance was shocking IMO.
  6. Completely wrong...we have discussed this in great detail, you do not know me or my son and have no idea of what we do or how we act at any other time. This was one incident that occured at a highly emotionaly time..no excuse - we felt at that time and wrong to assume if we had permission it was fine. It was not and trust me the feeling since this event has left me in no doubt this one one of the most regrettable incidents in my life. It has been returned and my son fully understands the reason why and that nothing like it will ever happen again.
  7. Is that not Anthony Salz behind the man with the scarf...directly behind his left hand?
  8. FFS why dont you read what I posted..I never participated in any vandalism of any sort and do not condone it one bit. We asked a steward if we could have that bit of perspex and he agreed , it was not ripped from the wall hoarding or anything just lying against the wall. Just for your information that bit of perspex was returned to the club at 9am this morning and handed to a club official. He was fine with it and as far as I am concerned the end of the matter from my part.
  9. As I have said I do not condone it at all and fully understand any contribution past and present guarantees nothing and accept some fans anger. I do not agree with being called chav scum especiallly as at that time we did ask if it was Ok for him to have it so at that time I did not consider it theft. At no time did we participate in vandalism!! I fully intend to make further contributions to this club and the appeal to recompense.
  10. From hero to zero in a blink, he was totally gutted at missing it and for me showed how much that meant as it took him ages to get over. Had it gone in then he would of had his name in lights...unfortunately it was a poor effort and easy for the keeper. A shame as he had the balls to step up and take it.
  11. I do not know apart from the Chapel end penalty spot had been dug out...I have no idea how as there were many stewards stood near it. We just went on the pitch to take a couple of photos and then left without seeing any of the damage that has been descibed here.
  12. It will be returned tomorrow! I honestly felt as we had asked permission to take an old piece of perspex then it would be fine. We did not rip anything or vandalise anything at all and never would. As I said we have contributed many thousands over the years and also today in the buckets provided there is no way that I want to see the club in further debt and if they need this manky piece of perspex that badly I will gladly return it.
  13. Why do you not read what I said .....we never ripped anything down or would it was a piece of old perspex that was propped against a wall in the concourse not anywhere near the pitch or sidings. I am not looking for glory and as we asked for permission from a club official felt it was fine for him to have in pride of place in his bedroom.
  14. Yes the bigger clubs are now pulling away, gone are the days when clubs like Derby, Notts Forest, Blackburn could win the Prem. any club that gets relegated are in serious financial issues if they dont get back straight away ...unless they have rich owners.
  15. I was only speaking from what I saw and my actions - I never saw the crossbar go. The pitch was going to be relaid anyway so disregard that. As I said we asked if it was ok to take our bit as it was propped up against the wall. I do not and will not condone wanton vandalism but as usual on here there are some way over the top comments - many of those like myself have contributed thousands of pounds in the past and will in the future.
  16. What a complete over the top moron you are...have you not considered for one minute those fans also contributed many thousands of pounds to the club? Many of the things that were taken were just old bits of perspex that cost less than a £5. My lad picked up one that was leaning against the wall of the concourse and asked the steward if it was Ok and he said its fine. If any perspective buyer was put off by that then he can bugger off anyway as if he is that lily livered he is not any use for the battle ahead. So taking a piece of perspex sends the club over the edge and nothing to do with shocking managerial decisions over the last few years ..brilliant. Did you confront any of them or are you just brave hero to hide behind your PC calling them SCUM?
  17. Why? People dont get rich throwing money away..a good businessman would wait and see what division we are in then pounce. The 2/3m he would save would be used far more wisely. It also takes time and not a 2 minute process, if you bought a house you would know at the pace the legal eagles work at!
  18. Not credible not bull**** just 2 totally different Saints fans I know texting me saying they have heard this and had I heard it as well. Not the sort to hear idle gossip - they dont use forums and dont know each other. Just a wait and see I guess but just threw this out there to see if anyone else had heard it.
  19. Has anyone else of an Indian consortium looking to buy us? Have heard from 2 different sources today.
  20. Shouldnt have too many worries of karoake singers on a Thursday night with that number flocking to the pub. Perhaps we could do a park and ride from Mountbatten school.
  21. Can we have meetings on Wednesdays as Dave does a brilliant curry for a £5. Might need a new bouncer now Hookie is off though.
  22. Kelly is another one of those brilliant people in the office. She has helped me solve a few things in the past and deserves a bit of praise at times like this.
  23. With most of the high earners leaving and almost certainly others having their agents getting diallers cramp finding another club already there is no reason why we cant live within our means. I do not see how charging £400 to supporters who have stood by you through thick and thin...especially the thin is going to be wildly accepted. How do we know the 'new' lot are not as bad as the old lot and it will take time to win some fans back. Fleecing them is not one way of doing that. Anything more than £350/375 will not see many takers IMO.
  24. Of course he does with his record...who else is going to employ him? I am sure there are many of the Football League clubs clamouring for his signature!
