  1. But why did you? You could of raised a thread about what a great day etc but chose to bing up the fact a few hundred if it was that many out of a crowd of 50k boo'ed. Shock horror some Saints fans are numpties....what do you want to happen now everyone to bow down and apologise wear sack cloth and ashes? I have read and heard nothing but praise for our fans yet you and others on here want to make this a big issue it wasn't. I was there and didnt hear any boos for Cortese that doesn't mean there weren't any just I didn't hear any but did for Mawhinney because I was one of them..
  2. I agree it was promoted that way but I just couldnt fathom out why it was a £10 to get in - I did see on the UI that it was £10 for 3 pints so was aware of that - having read that it was 3 cans I would of been even madder than you are now! Its easy for me to say it after the event - I have been to Wembley to watch England so knew there were pubs in the area. Next time head for JJ Moons mate its a Wetherspoons - massive area, great atmosphere and very safe in fact we had 11 kids in our group ...well someone had to carry us drunken gits to the ground! ;-)
  3. You can get a decent pint for £3 at Wembley in JJ Moons free to get in massive pub and no more than a ten minute wait!!!! I also went to the only pub in Oxford St afterwards(after JJ Moons again) for a Sunday roast and a London Pride £2.85. I just couldn't see why anyone would pay £10 to get in...for me and the Mrs that would of been £20 to start with...why pay that when in London its crammed with decent pubs.
  4. You said the same about Antonio ;-)
  5. So we win our first trophy since 1976, 50k plus attend a great day out at Wembley, not a peep about trouble anywhere, fantastic win on the pitch that had the plaudits calling us quality.....what do we get on here a post looking to cause trouble. Bloody typical on here. I was one who boo'ed Mawhinney.....shame on me.
  6. Yep me too....before and after. Good atmosphere, doorman were brilliant let us all in with the kids. Never waited more than 10 minutes to get served.
  7. My lads team won the Hampshire U13 cup today at Winklebury beating Fareham Town (including a few Skates!) 3-0. Was great to see the Pompey fans looking so glum! A good start to the weekend one down one to go!!!
  8. He did...x2 as he is a ST holder. He is the 16 year old son of a golfing mate of mine.
  9. I knew Jeff Stewart and his brother Paul from school. Jeff was in my sisters year at Redbridge and Paul was the year below me I think. They used to live in one of the blocks of flats that backed onto Green Park in Millbrook. Jeff was always arty farty and into Drama - remember he was brilliant in Sweeney Todd in a school play one year.
  10. Skates have tattoos and beards.....the blokes are ugly fckers as well ;-)
  11. Go to Cyber Dog in Camden Market Jan....see if you can recognise who are the staff...take your ear plugs though ;-) Enjoy the free Chinese tasters.
  12. You didnt watch Spuds and Fulham last night then...Bale and Bentley. Shame you missed Huddersfield it was awesome and maybe why I feel like I do now. Width, skill, superb tactics and total domination. So why did we change that for Swindon and lose momentum we were terrible? As I said I like Pardew.....his substitutions compared to Burley are on a different planet. Also his transfer market dealings have been nothing short of superb.
  13. Again where have I said that....again I will re-iterate my view as to why and thats because we go too narrow and too often like against Swindon and Hartlepool. Why did we start like that when in the previous games we had a great game plan, width and beating decent teams (Huddersfield was an absolute dream game and the best match I have seen in years) yet resorted to the narrow plan that fails us on too many occasions.
  14. If you bothered to read my posts you would of seen I posted I like Pardew and want him to stay.....we were brilliant against Huddersfield and Leeds but that doesn't stop me worrying in some games he seems to get things wrong like Swindon. That's not heresey its just my opinion and the way I see it and post on a football forum. To respond to SOG....at least we now only moan about the football and not what happening in the boardroom or how many Klingons we have on the starboard bow.
  15. But they didn't have any pacey wingers - both their goals came down our left side I seem to remember and Fish had a poor game. He hardly got forward and certainly didn't deliver many telling crosses like Dan does. I would prefer Wotton at right back than in midfield ;-) if it means Dan can play at left back - 1 weak poition rather than 2 like the other night. I think James is struggling so we may see Gillet....bit small for a full back though ;-)
  16. WTF has science got to do with the 7 games I mentioned ....no-one expects us to win everygame - even the best get beaten by minnows who work twice as hard and get the breaks. But just maybe we get our tactics wrong on a few occasions like Swindon and the other night?
  17. Sorry that is utter pants...no-one really thinks that anymore - I never go to SMS expecting us to do anything other than have a hard battle. I have seen us far to long to do anything else.
  18. But thats exactly my point....why start him in the middle? He is probably our only player with pace and playing in a congested middle was never going to work when in so many games we scream for width. We were brilliant with it against Huddersfield. Sorry I disagree about the Harding to RB - he has been probably our best player in so many games this season but his threat is nullified playing on the right as he has to come into the congested middle to get on his left foot. He did Ok but IMO we had better options-Perry for example. Anyway we got away with it the other night against a very poor Hartlepool side - we may not on Sunday. Hopefully we can get James fit.
  19. My lad plays Saturday morning so don't get the chance to go away much but based on recent home games like Swindon and Hartlepool we did drag the wide midfielders in. I am not suggesting we go back to the Paine/Sydenham era as its a totally different game now although what I would give for Big Ron again ;-). The other night especially we never had any space or for our centre midfield to pass to - I lost count in the first half Morgan looked up ready to spray wide but had to turn back or short sideways as we had no outlet or we resort to aimless hoof to Lambert. Teams come to St Marys and cram the centre - our first goal came from the first time Papa was actually wide and not through the centre - Hammond kept coming in the centre as well. We beat Leeds and Huddersfield playing wide....why did we change that against Swindon??? I like Pardew...want him to stay but am getting a bit worried about some of his tactics in games. Harding is our best left back and attacking option - dont move him to the wrong side move the player you are bringing in. Wotton or Perry could of even played right back against H'pool hardly world beaters - believe James is injured.
  20. Do you disagree with his assessment though.. I don't its spot on.
  21. No but then again I think it will be the peak of our season as we will not make the play offs as we have too many hard games left. Brighton away for one. Surely you get why some of us are so looking forward to it after all the crap we have watched in the last few seasons.
  22. I can tell you have never played in that case.....would you rather play at **** heaps like Fratton or the chance to walk out and play at Wembley?? How many occasions will the likes of Lambert, Lallana, Fonte, Davis get to play there? One maybe two?
  23. +1 If we play Harding at right back on Sunday we will get beat. Why move your best left back and the player who has been our best attacking option on the left? We got away with it last night because Hartlepool were shocking up front. We play narow enough as it is without having your full back having to always come inside making it even more narrow. I was never worried we would lose though as they were very poor going forward. Fonte was superb at the back snuffed evrything out before it happened. I think Morgan is key for us on Sunday as he was outstanding again in the first half.
