  1. No KP again...must say I whole heartedly agree....why should players like Vince lose out when he has done so well this season. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/cricket/8321825.Hants_set_to_ignore_KP___again/?ref=twt
  2. Apologies...the quoting fooled this old fool.
  3. Its funny how people see different things watching the same game, I have read many things on here how poor Jaidi was but for me he never lost a header and dominated our area from set pieces and open play. Ok his distribution is very poor but I just want him to defend. Mind you after watching Davenport, Jacobbsen, Lancashire, Powell and even 50p head Thomas I am easily pleased.
  4. You really are a blind fool aren't you!!! Norm has been posting on this and the old site since you were just a twinkle in your dad's eye!
  5. Weston....are there many more youngsters about to come through as good as those mentioned above? Since we turned to youth I think we have blossomed rather than rely on the overseas players. Mackenzie after a slow start has added valuable runs, Christian for me is just OK nothing special. It was good to see Simon Jones bowl today, I wouldn't call his run up and action smooth but he bowled at a fair pace today.
  6. Childish backbiting and you then accuse me of having an ego....2,000 posts in 4 years...what a plum!! Apologies to Chapel as least you had the decency to accept my views differed from yours without getting personal. I was pleased at half-time with the way we played but very concerned that we had not scored after all that possession and felt we never would. Hopefully Lambert won't miss many more games and give us that edge we missed yesterday but still want another big forward...shame we missed out on someone like Ben Burgess but maybe Rowan Vine woul be worth a shot.
  7. Just back and a very good performance from Hampshire. Some very good fielding set the tone, we have some very good youngsters in Briggs. Woods, Vince and the brilliant wicketkeeping of Bates. Adams and Lumb batted superbly although at times I thought we were playing Pakistan not Durham by the fielding display they were shocking! Durham were handicapped by losing Harmison who pulled up chasing a big hit from Adams that sailed over the line. Enjoyable afternoon apart from the prices of the food....how can you justify £4.50 for a pie and £5 for a cheeseburger? I have to applaud the parking now as it was so easy getting in and out - well done the attendants.
  8. Continue as in future.....try reading what written before jumping. Its my belief that if we continue with that forward line we will lose more points
  9. What a pathetic comment "go and support"....shows how much you feel for this club if you believe there is a choice in which team you support. I am not buckling at all I just want us to succeed and feel we are very close to getting it right but don't understand why we have wasted pre-season again. If you cannot understand others points of views perhaps you should go on other forums.
  10. Sorry am missing your point here...could be due to all the alcohol I drank trying to get over yesterday being an uber fan ST holder that I am. Working on signings and getting them are 2 totally different thimgs...christ we have only had since May...but call me impatient if it suits. Meanwhile lets continue throwing 3 points away.
  11. Really...to be honest I have not read that many but then again its hard to pick out amidst all the childish in fighting and trolls that infest this board. Our squad is not that good in depth or quality and needs strengthening badly and TBH if we are waiting for the Prem players to be loaned it maybe too late as Pardew may be gone. Lambert won't be fit for Tuesday and if he is injured then he shouldn't be risked for a a cup game that is not our main goal this season so same forwards and same issue in th enext game. The Cherries will be a tough game and MK Dons away won't be easy either. Competition for places is good...how many players actually have to fight for their place? Our bench was lacking in quality yesterday..Lallana apart so why haven't we recruited the players we so obviously have needed?
  12. How can we expect to get promotion without a striker on the bench? Its a 46 game season and to think we can get by with the injury prone Connolly, Lambert and Barnard is foolish.
  13. I don't think there is one Saints fan that has disputed the fact that since the end of last season we knew we needed: 1. A backup striker for Lambert....or even one that could play with him...two big lumps can also work. 2. Pacey winger than can deliever...no good without the above though! 3. A ball winning, dominating midfielder in the Nicky Butt style. Problem seems to be between Cortese and Pardew getting these in during pre-season.
  14. Last year my nippers school got to the semi finals of the schools championship and came up against a school from London. One of the opposition was on the books from Chelsea and came from Marseille - Chelsea put them up in a house near the school to be in the catchment and local to them.
  15. Can't be Pilchards he is at Staplewood and the trawlers have to stop at Cracknore Hard.
  16. I think so far...Seaborne apart who worries me.....he has been brilliant in the transfer market. I just don't think at the moment we have a plan B...someone to come on and change the game like Papa or Antonio did several times. I know the season hasn't started and our starting 11 looks good on paper but its the bench and squad that worry me but then again that due to years of crap and failure coming through.
  17. I may sound like Alpine now but our squad isn't good enough currently to get auto promotion. We have no pace up front and no replacement for Hammond/Schneiderling injuries ...if we are relying on Wotton and a 16 year old wide we are fcked!! We only have 2 days to go to the start and cannot waste any more time or points look how close we came last season.
  18. Be on here earlier than that as its 12:15 pm ko.
  19. History.....perhaps also the fact that this CEO has invested via proxy some money into the club and not taken out as others before. I haven't seen many Wilde broken promises or Leon's open mouth before thinking from Cortese yet. No doubt these will come but it is still honeymoon period.....wait until Christmas and if we are not delivering I think you will see more then.
  20. [Comment From Blueman Blueman : ] We're just the victims in HRMC wanting to make a point to the footballing world How f.....deluded is that!!!!!!
  21. I think that would suit most Saints fans...wouldn't want you out of business as we still want to get back above you and repay the latest results. I remember how we felt last season and don't want anyone to go through that ..well maybe that twa8t with the bell! A -17 would do nicely.
  22. How do you know this??/ Christ most of us agree that we are a bit too weak but FFS think what you are posting. What was Carter last week then a figment of Pardews imagination??
  23. With 4 players out last Saturday are you honestly stating you would risk more in a pointless friendly? You would be criticising Pardew even more if we lost Barnard and the fragile Connoly!!! What would Eastleigh offer that a good training session at Staplewood would't of shown AP already? He would know his starting line up already and would of put them out in training games if fit. Are you seriously believing that Eastleigh are a better standard than our squad?
  24. Trousers beat me to it ....glad I couldnt go in the end...£16 for me and the nipper is a bit pricey to watch that line up when I can see that at Staplewood for free soon.
