That's my main point norwaysaint. I don't know if we will stay up (I strongly suspect we will), and i've got no problem with people having differing opinions - it is those for whom everything is black and white, who get things hopelessly wrong and forget that prediction ever happened in their desperate scramble to spout the next pile of s***e that get me.

....who thought people who said Schneiderlin was always a Premier League player were deluded. ....who saw Luke Shaw in the cup and said he was nowhere near ready. ....who said Rodriguez was a scandalous waste of £7M. ....who said after the opening handful of games that we were going to get less points than Derby. ....who are now saying "and that's why we're going down" without considering for a second what b0llocks they are talking. A bit sad, really.

Delldays, perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by "must win". I say this because I think people assume you mean "must win or we will be relegated". And then they think that you are an imbecile.

When did we last win at OT in the league?
-
Coming through for the Man City game with the nipper who is at an age where a few autographs would be worth much more than the three points. Any advice on when/where to be and how hard or otherwise it is to get them greatly appreciated.

Top class player though Morgan is, and always has been, it would be very difficult to come up with a player less like him than Robert Pires. Maybe Brad Freidel. Maybe.

How long before we all calm down on this forum
tisspahars replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
It's a bit like a bereavement imo. A lot of shock and anger initially, but even since yesterday there has been a change on here to something more balanced. Monday night will be the funeral, and if we win or draw things will be a lot calmer as people move on. Get dicked and it may take longer! -
1) When Adkins was appointed there was an outcry from some about the sacking of Pardew who had turned the club around, had a thumping away win last time out, and was being replaced by a nobody. 2) Plenty of people whose opinion is worth listening to think we have got an excellent replacement. 3) If we are sat 8th in the Premier League this time next year, playing great football there will not be a single voice singing Nigel Adkins songs at St Mary's. 4) If you were one of the many many posters on countless threads pre christmas saying "That's it enough's enough, get this clown out and a Premier League quality manager in" and are now saying "this is a disgrace, how could they do this to our Nige" you are a ****. 5) I wish this hadn't happened. I wish Nigel was still in charge, and I am left feeling entirely empty, whilst fearing we may well be about to enter a tailspin of epic proportions.

Proud of the development of this team and manager

Get behind the bedwetting ffs. Ps - You're spot on. -
Given that it was a head injury, definitely something to do with his shoulder, a cut knee and also an internal knee problem, the truth seems clear - was going to be subbed anyway and wasted five minutes coming off instead of 30 seconds. Wink wink.

Aftertiming - the unattractive and unhelpful act whereby fans and commentators judge a decision on subsequent events known to them, but not the person who had to take the decision. For example, a jockey goes for a gap up the rail - if he gets through he is a genius, if he is hampered he is an idiot. The aftertimer's view is coloured by what actually happened. KP attacks a wide bouncing ball - if he hits it to the boundary "That's why he's so special, hits it on the up, it doesn't matter to this man, what a shot" - whereas if he nicks it behind the very same commentators will tell you "not the ball to attempt that - what was he thinking?" So yesterday's conceded goal. LOOKED awful, nobody would deny that, but only because three things collided - namely Dyer's anticipation, a poor pass from Gazza, and a poor touch from Yoshida. If Dyer hadn't anticipated the pass, and it had been played and controlled accurately, would ANYONE in the ground have been thinking "what were you doing Gazza?" I'm not so sure. I'm not saying it shouldn't have been hoofed - it probably should have been - but can you tell me it's not possible that in a parallel universe the Saints forum isn't full of people saying "All game we were comfortable playing it out from the back and cruising - for some reason in the last twenty we panic and just hoof it every time, constantly inviting them on, and of course in the end that's why we conceded". Just a thought....

Uncharacteristically poor tonight, but has been our best player this season and is absolutely vital to us. If you don't get this you don't get football - it is a very good litmus test. A little like saying "I love music - but I just don't get The Beatles". Rant over.

Anyone else reminded of Poortvliets reign..?
tisspahars replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
What it reminds me of is this forum in each of the last two years. Those currently spouting "Spurs will put five past us, we are already down, we could beat Derby's points record" are exactly the same as those who spouted "anyone who thinks we will get to the playoffs never mind the automatics playing like this is in la la land" in BOTH of the last two years. They will have forgotten what they wrote then of course having changed to "so proud of my club right now" by the last day of the season. -
I have nothing against Cork, but he could not lace Gaston's boots, never mind fill them.

There is a South American guy on Twitter saying Ramirez is out of tomorrow's game and Uruguay's WC qualifiers. I don't know him from Adam, but I fear we are going to be very deflated when the teams come through tomorrow....
-
And there is the sting in the tail ffs!! Palace snatch Goodwillie from under our noses - suddenly not so chuffed about Ramirez, who is going to finish the chances he creates now?
-
Penarol giving us the headache it seems - luckily they also manufacture the cure.
-
This brings to mind some of those adverts for charity with a sympathetic voice telling you "he's just a child....".
-
That's those deals scuppered then - the last confirmed reports of Alps being happy are from 1974 when he was awarded his scouting badges for pedantry and trolling.
-
I concur - I went on to lay us if we were around 4/5 - but won't at 7/4!
-
Amazing prices on this game on Betfair - people obviously don't have much faith in our kids, we are barely favourites...
-
That sounds quite hopeful - when you've resigned yourself to the inevitable of us not going up automatically in each of the last two years it has worked out rather well.
-
Latest twitter stuff not good - long meeting over, no deal.
-
For the benefit of those spouting the usual "bookies have us favs to go down/bookies don't get these things wrong/ever seen a poor bookie crap......1) They regularly get these things wrong. 2) Despite having us as favs, that is at around 11/8 meaning they think we are more likely to stay up than go down. Rant over.

The highest odds are 1000 for one, and they remove your liability from your account as soon as you place the bet for two. So no.
