Bad day for me, couple of seconds and a non runner, otherwise poor....Challenge has had a good start, and looks like we may have an early leader in Notnow, but will see after tonights selections. Just quickly before it goes off. 6.20 The Name is Frank Other selections to follow. Frankie

Pressure getting to you already Chris...in fact i'm at a disadvantage until next Friday as I have to choose mine the night before without knowing about going etc. you wait until the holidays start :-) Frankie

On to Thursday and will definitely be putting a selection in the tipping challenge as I feel there will be little competition there, Just selections...sorry would love to put a write up but getting late and I definitely need my beauty sleep. Leicester. 2.10 Mister Tinktastic 5.00 Dazzling Begum 5.30 Feeling Fresh Hamilton 3.25 Queens Scholar 5.10 Almaty Express Cartmel 3.05 Lukie Victor 5.20 Bonzeno Queen That'll do for the day I think. Take care all. Frankie

Did my bets last night so had a shade of just under 5/1 so not bad mate...the jumpers did me proud today, except for a couple of placed horses, plus flagging up Benanddonner and not doing it, the flat was a disaster. Frankie

On to Wednesday and not bad racing either....as per usual on a Wednesday I have footy training so will be posting evening selections too. Catterick 3.20 Mark Prescott doesnt run many horses in claimers so Cheyenne Chant has to be respected, he has shown little this year but a drop in class and the first time blinkers could have the desired effect...this looks a tough claimer but Cheyenne Chant is the tentative selection. 4.20 Allanah Abu has a cracking chance in this but will be prohibitive odds, so it might pay to look for a little value, Mark Johnstons stable are flying at the moment and must be respected so it is with The Mighty Mod that I side, to be fair he has shown little form and is still a maiden but he ran creditably last time out after a break and will strip fitter today, he has been ridden with restraint in his previous races and maybe a change of tactic by making him handy from the start may also see some improvement. Lingfield. 4.30 The best race at Lingfield today, a wide open little 1 mile contest, Benandonner has had the form franked behind Ginger Jack, but I fancy Mr Willis to run well, he looked a really good type last season especially running round Lingfield where he won over course and distance twice, he has had excuses for his poor runs this year, non more so than having a real bumping match at the start of a big Sandown handicap, this smaller field, and liking for Lingfield should see him go well at a nice price. Uttoxeter 2.40 Holoko Heights looks a tricky ride, but hopefully Richard Johnson can get a good tune out of him as I think this one time useful flat performer has potential in the jumping sphere. 3.10 Mad Jack Duncan has been flying in point to points, Lawney Hill is doing a great job with other peoples cast offs and can continue that run here. Kempton (Eve) 6.50 A tricky little nursery with Godolphin and Hannon having fancied runners, but it is Clive Brittains, Yarooh that interests me, she won her maiden in good style before being upped in class at Royal Ascot, back down in class and up in trip lets hope we see a return to form, the stable are in good form and jockey Neil Callan has ridden her the last twice including for her win. Getting late...i'm knackered so just selections now...sorry 7.50 Serhaal 8.20 Miss Glitters Worcester 9.10 Fade to Grey. So not too many to be honest which is possibly a good thing, good luck all Frankie

A bit of a frustrating evening really, Ginger Jack won at 11/8 ... Harcas was 3rd at 9/1 Shunkawakhan came second at 14/1 Always Dazzling ran well to be 3rd at 10/1 Wreningham Ran well to be 2nd at 6/1....so one winner and 4 horses placed at decent odds....Still can't grumble as it shows i'm reading the races ok. Frankie

Seeemples mate, let the fun begin Frankie

Seems fair to me mate, plus add in horse racing from the UK and Ireland only allowed, plus the possibility of not only bragging rights for winning the monthly competition but the chance to win a £10.00 Amazon voucher and I think we have a contest, might be a good idea to start another thread when we have decided as this one is getting a bit messy now... Do you think we should have a max number of bets for each person each day as well, or just let it go? Frankie

Nicely done Chris, with The Name is Frank pulling out due to the weight of money behind it (How often does that happen when I tip a horse) I managed the one winner this afternoon, the ever reliable Markington was well backed and obliged at 4/1 so not a bad day. Bimey didn't notice but Tropical duke was backed into favouritism then withdrawn with two others...can you shed any light on this Chris? Frankie

To be honest Facebook has a lot to answer for, I currently work in a school as an unqualified teacher (basically means I can do the job but don't have the piece of paper yet to be called qualified......I am working towards this by the way), but due to reorganisation on the Island I will be unemployed in September, a Facebook campaign was started by parents for me to keep my job, basically the council got involved and the rest I cannot say....but a head teacher of another local school wanted to offer me a job, but was put off because her current staff said I was unprofessional on Facebook....crazy world we live in if a social network site can have a bearing on employment... Dr Who the only thing I can suggest and I am sure your wife has probably already looked down this route is to contact the union etc. like you say this should be a warning first (happeneed several times at my school with members of staff) then something harsher for repeat offenders...seems like sour grapes to me. Good luck Frankie

Had a look at Tuesday's meetings and here are my thoughts. Beverley 3.30 Tillietudlum has been in great form, but this is his hardest race this season and I feel he may find at least one too good. Markington is a fantastic dual purpose horse he has a rating of 116 over jumps and is no slouch on the flat either, he gamely won last time out and has stamina in abundance, Peter Bowen does well with his flat runners and Markington can make his mark in a good little contest. 4.30 The Name is Frank i'll be lambasted by Chris O for this selection but if he can overcome his poor draw he doesnt have a bad chance. 5.30 Probably need my head examined touching a lady amateur rider race, but I fancy a horse at a biggish price, Tropical Duke has won over course and distance, plus he won a similar contest last year for todays rider. He looked like he needed his two runs this season and should be a lot fitter for today. Brighton 2.40 I am sure Piazza San Pietro will give his usual consistent performance, but I was really impressed by the way Forest Dane won over course and distance last time out, he found plenty of trouble in running but still quickened to win quite cosily...Tom Queally keeps the partnership intact and will hope for another win. 3.40 I have followed Eywa this season and to be honest had expected her to break her maiden tag by now, but she seems to have found some trouble in running and still shows signs of greenness, if she can get her act together the handicapper has her on a very low mark and lets hope she can break her maiden tag today. So just a few fancies on a tricky looking afternoon...good luck all Frankie

Nah come on Chris it will be fun, raised some interest already. Frankie (May even contribute a prize for the winner if we get this going)

Monday seems to be a good night for me regarding racing at the moment, after a good Monday last week, tonight wasn't too bad either. At Windsor Face the Problem ( 4/1 ) and On Her Way ( 9/1 ) won, both making quite a good impression in the process, of the others Vegas Palace was given a very interesting ride by Richard Kingscote and could be worth following. At Wolverhampton I didnt have a winner but Two O Clock John and Goodbye Cash finished 3rd and Mr Rainbow ran 2nd, In Two O Clock Johns race I did have a sneaky couple of pound on Moscow Oznic due to my girlfriend being called Nics...... tenuous I know but occasionally the name thing works, so all in all a good day, shame I didnt have time to post selections on Tip Exchange. Frankie

Tricky evening cards but a few that I think may run well are: Windsor 6.40 Pineapple Pete (Small stake on Place and Chips too) 7.40 Face the Problem 8.10 Vegas Palace 8.40 On Her Way Wolverhampton 6.50 Two O Clock John 8.20 Goodbye Cash 8.50 Mr Rainbow 9.20 Jay's Treaty. Good evening all Frankie

Frankie

A strange day Elliott had just the one winner Flying Doctor ran as if needing a rest, two at big prices that ran ok were Quidam Blue and Ariel Bender, Island Flyer ran ok but tired and the winner won very well, Restart was a little unlucky and as for Tropical Bachelor, he should remain on the flat...Not a great Sunday but very small stakes, seemed bizarre having 3 jumps meetings., will soon be Glorious Goodwood, though definitely going on the first day Tuesday, so if any forumites are going be nice to meet in Chichester for a beer. Frankie...Come on Holland (had them at 12/1 at the start of the competition...just a tenner, was going to lay off but not thrill in that )
-
Nice one mate, glad you had a good day, as Chris said, shame you didnt have Waveband..was a massive price and won easily...i'll apologise now for Sadlers Star. Frankie
-
Fair enough mate, if we're going to do it, best to do it properly eh.....as you have experience of this sort of thing Chris i'm happy to go with any set of rules you can think of, then i'm good to go..the bragging rights will be immense:-) Frankie
-
I see the jockey for Sadlers Star has a 3 wins from 4 rides record for the trainer too...might join you on that one mate. Frankie
