Crikey Chris you were on fire yesterday mate...multiple winners. I did do Brian Ellisons second string Moyenne Corniche in the big race just because he was so sweet on its chances on the Morning Line. Frankie
-
Cracking tipping yesterday again Chris, finding big priced winners is ever easy but to get them two days running is excellent...wished i'd chucked some money at your horses too...on to today and have to post early and just selections as off out to watch the mighty Saints. 2.00 Dream Ahead 2.30 Communicator 3.05 Dandino 3.40 Saptapadi 4.15 Gusto 4.50 Comical 5.20 Lady Royale Good luck Chris, come on you Saints. Elsewhere, I fancy consistent pointer Merry Terry in the 4.00 at Newton Abbott. Frankie
-
Crikey Chris, no selections the same!!!!!!! Good luck mate. Frankie

Yeah a good day Chris, with your 20/1 winner a highlight, although we did have the first three between us !!!! On to today, and no easier than the previous days. 2.00 Almost anything can win this but my two against the field are Waldvogel, who is very consistent and but for being hampered last time may have won. The trip and ground will be no problem for him. My other selection is McBirney, he has looked very useful since being stepped up to 1mile 4 furlongs and could take a hand here, his draw is a concern. I also like the look of Troopingthecolour but could go on all day so wont. 2.30 Caspar Netscher has been running in some good races, his form behind Harbour Watch has been franked with Bogart winning nicely yesterday having finished behind Caspar Netscher in that race....of course there are several unexposed types but to small stakes Caspar may ghost home :-) 3.05 Older horses do well in this race and Dux Scholar looks an improving type, but my money is going on Western Aristocrat, his form looks ok, but he is open to improvement upped in trip and on ground that he should act on. 3.40 Ahhh this is ridiculous, my two against the field are Captain Dunne, to blast out make all and win.....just or Tiddliwinks to win again as he is a horse to follow when on form. 4.15 Of those that have run I fancy Storming Bernard, who has some decent form, from the same stable there has been some interesting money for Strictly Silver so it may be worth watching how that runs. 4.50 I have followed Queen of Cash from its first few runs so will not desert it today, especially as she is in such good form...I may chuck a couple of quid at Clumber Place too. Good luck Chris and anyone else having a bet. Frankie p.s. Elesewhere I really fancy 'The dukes Speech' in the 2.55 Bangor and that is my nap today.
-
Not just you mate, sorry - been busy...blimmin' hard day today and I dont think we have any of the same selections: 2.00 The favourite is no value at all, so my three against the field are the Irish raider Hestian, Hannons second string Moustache and I cannot desert Worthington at a huge price. 2.30 They have always thought a lot of Shumoos and I know on form figures he has a bit to find, but I think today may be his day, Best Terms at a nice price is tempting too. 3.05 Massively wide open race with nothing to be seriously discounted.....my two against the field are Pendragon for the inform Ellison stable and Dubai Dynamo at a tempting price. 3.40 my nap of the day is Crystal Capella she won by 8 lengths before running a good race over a shorter distance, hopefully she will run all over these and win by a wide margin :-) 4.15 Set to Music to carry on her progressive form 4.50 Chilly Filly was useful for Mark Johnston then moved to James Givens stable, Brian Ellison now has him and I see there has been some money for him this morning, so Chilly Filly and the in form Seaside Sizzler to prevail. Good luck if anyone is having a bet Frankie

Cheers for starting this thread Chris and for the link a very good read and some interesting stats, especially about trainers to avoid.. On to my selections on a tricky looking day: 2.00 Not too sure about the draw so will choose two selections one with a high draw and one with a low and see what happens, Kanaf is my first selection, he has a high draw, has been running very well and looked very unlucky in his last race behind Hoof it. For the low draw selection I go for Swiss Franc who last raced in France but before that showed some decent form in this county, he will like the underfoot conditions and has a chance. To be honest it is a minefield of a race with anything capable of winning. Selections: Kanaf and Swiss Franc 2.30 Archbishop looked very good on debut and Meehans runners often need their first run so improvement definitely expected, small stakes in a good race. Selections: Archbishop 3.05 My nap of the day goes to Sea Moon (poor horse). He has always been well regarded and despite looking a little short of fitness on his seasonal debut he won well enough . With improvement likely, unexposed form and some fancy big race entries Sea Moon for me looks a good bet. Selections:Sea Moon - Nap 3.40 Await the Dawn must be respected but beating Harris Tweed last time out isnt great from and I much prefer Middays last run when beating Snow Fairy, as for the others, they have little to no chance. Selection:Midday 4.15 Mister Musicmaster to continue his winning form. Selection: Mister Musicmaster 4.50 The unexposed favourite has a huge task winning this on only its second run, so for value I am dutching Barren Brook and at a very nice price World Heritage. Selections: Barren Brook and World Heritage. Be lucky all Frankie

Well my laying service has been brilliant this week, shame I have backed them to win though.... Just selections today as off out on the razz with the boys 2.05 Thunderball 2.35 Activate 3.10 Crystal Capella 3.45 Edinburgh Knight 4.20 Niceofyoutotellme 4.55 Indepub 5.35 Kathleen Francis Good luck all....one week to go before the real football starts :-) Frankie

A disaster for me yesterday with zero winners and zero idea :-) Well done to those that did select winners and there was a fair few of you (especially Chris O who tipped a 16/1 shot). On to today and as many of you have already said, a strange day with some favourites with rock solid form: 2.00 I like Redwood but he is frustrating to follow with a fair few seconds to his name. Mark Johnston hasnt had a brilliant Goodwood so far but I am hoping he will have a better day today, Jukebox Jury looked back to his old self on his reappearance and if adopting the same front running tactics could have these struggling, he won on his racecourse debut here at Goodwood and the trip is no problem. Selection: Jukebox Jury Western Aristocrat has by far the best form with his last run, but is little value at his current price, at the top of the weights Tazahum looked progressive until finding 1 mile 2 furlongs too far last time out, his second to Dubawi Gold last season looks good form and he could take a hand here. Selection: Tazahum 3.10 As has already been said Green Destiny looks to have a great chance, but in such a wide open race he is very little value, I will keep stakes to a minimum but Highland Knight ran a really nice race last time out, if the principals find trouble in running, he may be able to capatalise. Selection: Highland Knight 3.45 Harbour Watch looks like the winner but nobody ever got rich backing odds on shots so for me the experienced and tough as Teak Bannock with SDS on board and at a bigger price Silverheels for a couple of quid. Selections:Bannock and Silverheels 4.20 Don't stop believing, it has to be Glee for me, his course form is a definite positive. 4.50 Blimey now it gets difficult, 3 year olds have a good record in this race, so Rimth for me. Selection: Rimth 5.25 Come on you Redvers !!!! Selection: Redvers Good luck all, surely my selections cannot be as poor as yesterdays. Frankie

Just watched Frankels race...absolutely mind blowing and people are still knocking the horse and the form of the race......just a freak. On to today and Frankied 1 winner at Goodwood a day carried on yesterday with Whiplash Willie. 2.15 A nice easy race to start with !!!!! my two against the field are Boogie Shoes who is lightly raced and unexposed and at a big price Barney Rebel, who could surprise. Selections: Boogie Shoes and Barney Rebel 2.45 I have followed Kingsgate Native in every run this year, but today I am going to desert him (watch the bugger win now), again two against the field, Swiss Diva for the in form David Elsworth looks to have a good chance Kieran Fallon in the saddle is an added bonus, a horse at a big price to watch is Humidor, he loves Goodwood winning both times that he has raced here he is upped in class but could run well. Selections: Swiss Diva(N/R) and Humidor 3.15 Red Cadeux is interesting after routing his rivals in Ireland but arguably his best form is with give in the ground. Chiberta King is interesting, winning narrowly from Aaim to prosper last time out, but his stable are in fine form and he has won over this course and distance. If showing any of his old sparkle Geordieland could run well at a big price. Selection: Chiberta King. Outsider: Geordieland 3.45 Wild Coco looks to have a good chance but his form is on soft ground. The best form by far is Field of Miracles 2nd to Banimpire and it is with him I side. Motrice back in trip could run well at a nice price. Selection: Field of Miracles Outsider: Motrice. 4.20 Almost impossible to find a winner, follow the money if there is any, or just avoid. Selections: Glad Eye Gladys and Estedaama 4.55 A wide open race but I like the look of Shropshire, he was beaten favourite last time out but his 3rd to Frankel the time before looks very good and must give him a chance. St Augustine won on his only start here and is also in with a squeak. Selections: Shropshire and St Augustine. 5.25 A tricky finale to a tricky card...Dragonera to continue his progression. Selection: Dragonera Good luck all. Frankie

Wednesday 27th tips. 2.00 A tricky race to start the card and several of these hold good chances but I am going for Bowdler's Magic who is stepped up in trip which should suit him, plus his trainer Mark Johnston has a great record at this track. Another to chuck into the mix is the unexposed Seaside Sizzler who looks progressive, plus I am taking the kids to the seaside for the last day of term today. Selection: Bowdler's Magic and Seaside Sizzler 2.35 Just 7 runners in this race....but any of the 7 could win...with a process of elimination stable jockey hughes has chosen, chandlery which means he must be better than the stables other 3 runners, chandlery lost to red duke last time out and could beat him again, but the one that may beat them all is Elkhart who looked impressive last time out and has SDS on board. Selection: Elkhart 3.10 Please Frankel, show the world just how good you are...no bet, just a watching brief...but please. Selection: Frankel 3.45 I cant choose between Halifax, who looked progressive at this trip before finding 2 miles too far last time out, and Whiplash Willie for the in form Andrew Balding stable...so I will dutch them both. Selections: Halifax and Whiplash Willie. 4.20 Richard Hannon gave me my only winner yesterday, so I am not about to desert him now, My Queenie ran an encouraging first race and will surely improve, hopefully enough to win this race. Selection: My Queenie. 4.55 A really tricky race but I cant keep my eye off Zenella, this 3 year old has a light weight and is unexposed, she could run a good race at a nice price. Selection: Zenella 5.30 Ahhhh it doesnt get any easier, Apache Glory looks to have a good chance but may be vulnerable to an improver, that improver could be handicap debutant Miss Aix. Selection: Miss Aix Good luck All Frankie

And what did he win by???? a nose!!!!! spooky eh. A tricky first day we said and a tricky first day it was with just Moustache and Strong Suit for several people winning for the forum. Frankie

Glorious Goodwood July 26th 2.00 Modun looks to have a good chance judged on his form last time out but is little value in a big open field, All Action was very impressive last time and if defying his 10pound hike he would have a good chance, but my preference is for Kings Gambit, he has run concistently well until last time out when stepping up in distance and running on ground he doesnt like too much, he gets on well with Jamie Spencer has some good form and top weights in this race have a very good record. Selection: Kings Gambit 2.35 Stoute has a superb record in this race, and the form of his runner Fiorente received a massive boost on Saturday when Nathaniel won, but evens is not a working mens price..a horse that also received a boost at the weekend is Slumber, he is open to improvement and is a much more attractive price than Fiorente. One that could spring a surprise especially if breaking better and running less green is Highland Castle at a big price. Selection: Slumber Outsider:Highland Castle. 3.10 Red Jazz loves 7f and has been very consistent this year over longer trips, back to his favourite trip and on a handicap mark 5 pound lower than his last win I fancy him to win. Delegator is half the price of my selection yet when they last met over 7 furlongs Red Jazz beat Delegator by nearly 3 lengths! Selection: Red Jazz 3.45 A really tricky race to select a winner, there are question marks about a few of these but Stonefield Flyer is holding his form well, his trainer remains in really good form and I expect him to run his usual good race. Selection: Stonefield Flyer 4.20 Moustache to win by a nose!!!! Selection: Moustache. 4.50 A middle to low draw is often best in this race and this looks pretty wide open, but I like the look of 'Don't Call Me' who is drawn in stall 3, the horse looks well handicapped and on firmer ground he coule record his first win for Nicholls. Of those drawn high Suited and Booted ran a promising race last time out and trainer Jane Chappel Hyam is under rated. Selection: Don't Call Me. Outsider: Suited and Booted 5.25 Christ what a race to finish with...my pin says Rocket Rob or Boogie Waltzer, Good luck all. Frankie

As the start of Glorious Goodwood is tomorrow, I thought i'd add a thread, so add tips and thoughts. Mine later... Come on Frankel !!!!!!! Frankie

Labibs you are the light in a pretty dire week for selecting winners on this forum, still just one last day today and here are my horses to avoid 2.30 Maybe I am sure will have her supporters, but I prefer the merits of Falls of Lora, the last win was very impressive especially as the jockey lost his irons leaving the stalls. Stakes should be kept to a minimum here as it is unsure what effect the ground will have on any of these horses. Selection: Falls of lora 3.05 Again Aiden O Brien will be looking for a winner here, but the form of Calvados Blues has taken a massive boost this week with the win of Rewilding and looks fair value at 12/1 another I like is Drunken Sailor, he won easily last time and has some good form on soft ground. Selection: Calvados Blues 2nd Selection: Drunken Sailor 3.45 Bewitched looks a stand out bet in this, again his form has been franked this week with his win over Zoffany looking a good piece of form, he will have no problems with the ground and despite a skinny price looks good. I will be most annoyed if Kingsgate Native wins here after tipping him in the week, he has cheek pieces fitted and I may just have a couple of pound on him in case. Selection: Bewitched Dark Horse: Kingsgate Native 4.25 Fergus Sings the Blues, Dignity, The Chocolate Girl, all classic Deacon Blue hits and hopefully this lightly raced four year old can be a hit for us today, the stable remain in ok form, the draw is a bit of a concern but he is a horse that travels well and today will hopefully be his day. One horse at a massive price I will also be doing is Cheveton, he has good form on soft ground and the urgings of Sylvester De Sousa, so I expect him to run well and at the least sneak a place. Selection: Deacon blue. Dark Horse: Cheveton Not very original but I like Modun, I backed him last time out when he won very nicely, this was surprising as Stoutes horses often need the run, he will have come on for that and will be very hard to beat. Of the remainder I think Taqleed if returning to form could run a big race, he is well regarded and has form on the ground , the stable are also in good nick. Selection: Modun. Dark Horse: Taqleed 5.35 The defection of Overturn should make this a little easier to figure out but it doesnt, Deutschland should have no problem with the trip or the ground and without any fences to get in the way, he could run a big race. Of the others I have a sneaky fancy for Chink of Light, he is very lightly races, therefore unexposed, the trainer is in good form and the horse has some form on the ground....will probably fade, drop like a stone and finish last, but at the price worth a few pound. Selection: Deutschland Dark Horse: Chink of Light There you go fellas, our school summer fair today then off out for an out of season drink with my football buddies in Eastleigh Lets hope for better today Frankie
-
Getting late so just selections for tomorrow. 2.30 Inetrobil 3.05 World Domination...Danger:Glens Diamond 3.45 Memory 4.25 Fort Dei Marmi 5.00 Halifax 5.35 Free for All Good luck all Frankie
-
Well done Labibs, an awful day for me on a very tricky days racing...still theres always another day. Frankie
-
A cracking day for the bookies today..... On to Day 3. 2.30 A tricky race to figure out, but with Hannons team firing all of a sudden Crown Dependency has to come into the equation, his win was visually very impressive and hopefully he can take a hand here. Of the others I like the look of Paul Coles, Silver Heels. He ran very green on his debut but still won nicely, the runner up has franked the form and Ryan Moore is a significant jockey booking. Selection: Crown Dependency. Dark Horse: Silver Heels 3.05 I like Dorcas Lane but this is quite a step up in grade, Rumh and Banimpire are both reproduced quickly after winning in the last week, but I really like the look of Mick Channons Zain Al Boldan, he looked very impressive beating one of todays rivals, Field of Miracles by 6 lengths before struggling in the Oaks and Epsoms course, this should suit her better and if returning to the form before the oaks, she should have a good chance. Selection: Zain Al Boldan 3.45 If Fame and Glory stays this distance he should win, what looks on paper a rather weak Ascot Gold Cup, but the horse I will be doing is Motrice, he looked useful last year and another year older and over this marathon trip he should be staying on at the end when others are faultering, as always Prescott remains a bit of an enigma but he can get them ready. Selection: Motrice 4.25 This could well be the day for the bookies, with another very tricky race to try and work out, so I will be going with Kuala Limper, both horse and trainer are in great form, his first run over turf saw him win impressively, and to be quite honest, this race is so hard to fathom out, he has as good a chance as any. Selection: Kuala Limper 5.00 Fewer runners but no easier to to pick a selection, Luca Cumani won this race last year and his horse Alkimos has a similar profile, he won nicely last time out against some useful sorts and looks to be improving. One at a big price is Auld Burns who started the season with a win, before disappointing in the last two runs, although his last run he had excuses as he hung quite badly and was hampered, if returning to form he may surprise. Selection: Alkimos Dark Horse: Auld Burns 5.35 I give up, this is crazy..I was going to pick a Mark Johnston horse but he saddles about a million, so I have plumped for Aiden O Briens Apache, who won by 6 lengths over this trip last time out so we know he stays the trip, there are question marks about whether the others will stay, so Apache for me. Selection: Apache You may have noticed I have not chosen dark horses in every race today, this is due to some of my main selectoins being at big prices anyway. Good luck all on a very tricky day. Frankie
-
Ascot - Day 2 2.30 I like the look of Codemaster and his last win was impressive, breaking the track record. He has form on Good to soft and is relatively unexposed. The dark horse for me is Western Aristocrat, he is unbeaten, but has only won by the smallest of margins, that said he is unexposed, will surely improve and has form on good to soft ground. Selection: Codemaster. Dark Horse: Western Aristocrat 3.05 Many of these are in good form, Seka and I'm a Dreamer will have their followers as will Music Show, but their best form is on a firmer surface.. Saajjhaa the likely favourite has good form on soft ground, he has always been held in high regard and can take this race. The other horse I fancy is Lolly For Dolly, who has a record of 4 out of 4 wins when running on soft or yielding ground and could take a hand in this. Selection: Sajjhaa Dark Horse Lolly For Dolly 3.45 So You Think looks a real beast and it will be a real surprise if he loses here, Planteur has a chance if the fav doesnt run his race, but I cant see it...so 3 favs to win the first3 races then :-) Selection: So You Think 4.25 Now this is more like a whole host of runners over a mile, and many in with a chance..with that in mind my two selections against the field are Brick Red, who looked useful last season and after two disappointing runs returned to some semblance of form last time, his trainer remains in good form and the horse is potentially well drawn. The other I like is Point North with the enigmatic Mr Barzalona on board, the horse is lightly raced and has form on good to soft ground. Selection: Point North. Dark Horse: Red Brick 5.00 This should be Shumooz for the taking he looked very impressive on his debut and his form has been franked ..But his price is too skinny, the other british horses are nothing to shout about form wise, so I will take a chance on Gypsy Robin, who looked very impressive in America and has come along way. Selection: Gypsy Robin 5.35 Whats this, a race at Royal Ascot with donkeys and selling platers, its disgraceful, and I refuse to make a selection.... ok if I have to I will go for Winters Night to be less bad than the others :-) Selection: Winter's Night Good luck Frankie
-
Just finished watching the races..my thoughts La Estrella ran nicely and was unlucky not to place, no concern about staying, if anything he needs further...Veiled was a nice winner though. Be interested to hear your thoughts on Frankel, I personally think the jock should have held on to him much longer, there didnt seem a need to go chasing the pacemaker like that...i suppose thats what pressure does to you. Canford Cliffs, won a shade cosily I think as did the fav in the last. Prohibit won well and looking at his form, in hindsight he had a good chance, Kingsgate Native seems to be a horse that may never win. Very unlucky with my selections in the 4.25 with a 2nd and 3rd, although the fav won a shade cosily. so in all not a bad day, some good racing to watch and lets hope for some more tomorrow. Just going to study them now. Take care Frankie
-
OK I will kick the thread off with my thoughts. 2.30 This should be as the betting suggests a straight race between Goldikova and Canford Cliffs, although Cape Blanco is capable of a good run, especially if reproducing his win in last seasons Irish Champion stakes, when routing the field. The rain will not have helped Canford Cliffs cause as he has not run on soft ground and any punters will have to take a chance if backing him and the ground is soft, Goldikova is not getting any younger, but she probably needed her first run of the season despite winning and is very classy, she is unbeaten on these shores, and despite Canford Cliffs potential, it has to be Goldikova for me. Selection:Goldikova Dark Horse: Cape Blanco 3.05 Has anyone got a big pin ?? A cracking race but with so many foreign raiders, you can never be too sure of how good they are, so I will concentrate on the English and Irish chances. Sole Power won nicely last time, with many of these in behind him, but he rarely runs two races alike, and it is one of his rivals I really fancy, Kingsgate Native was beaten by Sole Power last time but his stable are now flying along with his jockey, the ground shouldnt be a problem and I expect a big run. One at a big price is Swiss Diva, he improved steadily last season, has form on soft ground and goes well for his jockey. Selection: Kingsgate Native Dark Horse: Swiss Diva 3.45 Its all about Frankel, I really hope he comes out and blitzes his rival, on the bare form nothing should get close to him...and hopefully it wont. Selection: Frankel Dark Horse: 4.25 A huge field and probably just a watching brief, but my two against the field are Roman Soldier who was very impressive when winning last time out and St Barths whose latest win has been franked with the second winning. Selections: Roman Soldier and St Barths 5.00 A cracking race over 2 miles and 4 furlongs, I had the winner last year in Junior and fancy a horse with a similar profile this year in Veiled, he has been in good on the flat and over jumps, his handicap rating on the flat is very low compared to his jumps rating, and Nicky Henderson seems to have found the key with this horse, with it winning 3 out of 5 occasions for him, his two defeats came on the first run for the stable when favourite and then in a hot contest at Punchestown, his stamina will be key. The dark horse is La Estrella (if he runs) he has been declared for several races recently and been pulled out, it could be a real indication that connections have entered him in this race, admittedly he has only been running in AW races but has been winning impressively (13 times), stamina should not be a problem as if you go back to 2008 he won over the jumps 2 miles 4 furlongs staying on.. He could spring a surprise at a big price. Selection : Veiled Dark Horse: La Estrella 5.35 It just has to be Worthington, he won nicely on his debut, and his trainer and jockey are a formidable pairing. One at a bigger price is Ballesteros who has been fancied on his two runs so far, he was behind the useful Mezmaar (likely fav in the 4.25) on his last run and Brian Meehans juveniles normally improve for racing. Selection :Worthington Dark horse: Ballesteros. Cheers all, good luck and heavy wallets. Frankie

Just thought i'd start a thread for Royal Ascot, starting tomorrow and should be quite a spectacle. Frankie
