  1. I thought he looked good at the beginning of last season - less so towards the end. Definitely lots of potential - if Raheem Sterling is worth £50m+, then £11m might turn out to be a bargain for Redmond.

    Euro 2016

Vardy should have been on for the out ball last 15 mins. Don't know what Hodgson was thinking.
  3. I'm contemplating going to Chile v Bolivia on Friday just for the hell of it - cheap tickets available. Gillette is a decent stadium. Tons of food options, especially if sat in the lower section - quality is subjective, but usual stadium fare. If you prefer higher quality - there are a number of restaurants right outside the stadium in Patriot Place. The matchday experience will be determined by the teams involved. If Mexico are involved, expect a completely different atmosphere than if you end up with Chile v Uruguay. Either way, be prepared for vendors walking up and down aisles selling beer/popcorn/cotton candy etc. ****es me off at a football match. I can't help you with availability of players outside the stadium for autographs etc - my gut tells me this is unlikely, but I really don't know. I am pretty sure there will be Copa America merchandise for sale - is it worth buying (is it ever?) - only worth it for the memories. Also, Gillette has a ton of parking, but can be a ***** to get to on gameday. Leave plenty of time - car parks usually open 4 hours prior to KO. Public transport options are almost non-existent.
  4. Can't begrudge a guy moving on to triple his salary - regardless of what he said in the past. Things change. Look forward to SFC moving forward - we need a manager who will inspire the existing players and attract new ones. Don't think Eddie Howe is that guy.
  5. To be fair, Plymouth were not in it 2nd half. Could have been worse for them.
  6. Special dispensation again, eh? The cynic in me says it is somewhat convenient that they emergency loan a keeper to go straight into the first team. Hopefully it leads to lots of cock-ups with an unfamiliar defence.
  7. Harsh on Clasie - thought he played quite well - getting stuck in and breaking up play with VW, and made a few good forward passes. Long MoM for me - was everywhere, and even though Tadic and Mane were excellent, Long gets my vote.
  8. Well - it is a 100% factual PortsMyth that we got a free stadium when Markus bought us - so it seems only fair that they should get a free stadium too.
  9. Eastleigh live on Fox Soccer Plus over here in the USofA as well for those that subscribe.
  10. If heading over during half term - you probably want to focus on Southern Vermont/Western Massachusetts. It varies by year, but generally the peak foliage conditions in Northern Vermont/New Hampshire occur in the first couple weeks of October. I would think Stowe, VT would be past its best by half term. It certainly can be chilly, esp the evenings - but then again, it is around 20 degrees C most of this week - might even get the shorts out again.
  11. Very disappointing that we didn't have the confidence to play our creative players and allow our class to shine through. We should not need to resort to League 2 football to outfight the opposition. Koeman & Co have a lot to do to rebuild this team, and at this point, I am almost relieved that we won't have the Europa League to deal with.
  12. Obviously invested all of the clubs money in Greek Bonds.

Never thought I'd see the bidding practices of 'Storage Wars' applied to the cunning negotiations of the football transfer window. I guess it is as they say......business is business.
  14. A few comments from RAWK.......
  15. Classic 'Grasping at Straws to find something to moan about' Stuff. Saints won 6-1, and we can't go through the weekend without having a good old moan about something. Nice Try, but really have no idea what got you so riled up about Hoddle.
  16. It wasn't offside - and should not have been a difficult decision for the linesman to get right, but I think he was distracted by Mane coming back from an offside position.
  17. Little Ol' Bournemouth - on the brink of exiting the football league just a few short years ago to now joining the Premier League. Surely a bittersweet moment for fatpipes fans serving as a beacon of hope for what can be achieved whilst at the same time reminding them of their increasing insignificance in the South Coast football pecking order. Of course, they'll all be b'muff fans for at least two days next season. Something for them to look forward to at least.
  18. Fratton Park is falling down...... Quality article from the souths No1 journo.. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/light-relief-for-fratton-park-as-summer-upgrade-targeted-1-6659960
  19. Assist for the second goal provided by the septic isles favorite ticket booth attendant.
  20. UEFA won't do anything. This is a world cup about money. The only way to change anything is to disrupt the money flow. If fans want to unite globally and contact FIFA sponsors such as adidas/nike, McD's, Coca-Cola, Visa etc and make it known that their association with the 2022 Qatar world cup will have a negative impact on their business, then pressure will mount on FIFA. Similarly the TV companies. Can't see it happening though. Personally, I have no problem with the World Cup being moved for the right country with a strong footballing heritage. Qatar is not the right country.
  21. Hope we score early tonight - stop Palace parking the bus. Got a good feeling that Pelle will end his goal drought today. sssssssh
  22. Sadly it means Liverpool will be even more determined to finish top 4, and will have less games to contend with. Not a good outcome, though somewhat amusing to see Lovren has further enhanced his reputation on Merseyside.
  23. Abysmal first half from the ref - but in the final analysis, we failed to create scoring opportunities. A lot like periods of last season - dominate possession but fail to score.
