So you are a Saints fan then, but for some reason don't want to admit to it. 😜 Experiencing the highs and lows is an integral component of being a football supporter, and I am happy you can experience the upsurge in energy and emotion that wins like that v Spurs can bring. I love the Saints, but with age, experience and (questionable) maturity, also comes the ability to not get "too high or down" based on the result of a game. We can all appreciate the 'moments in football' even for other teams, but the Saints are in our hearts. I guess journalism requires a certain quelling of emotions/passion /whatever to retain objectivity, but lets face it, you're a Saints supporter. Be Proud!!

The laws are clear... ......it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm: directly from the player’s own head or body (including the foot) In this case, Sterlings thigh deflected the ball to his hand...not Handball.

USA Saints - 50% off Peacock Premium
BigShadow posted a topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
There is an offer for 50% off the annual plan for peacock premium which might be useful to those who don't get it free. Use promo code today50 when signing up for annual plan. Reduces cost to $24.99 +tax for 12 months. Might not work on existing accounts, so I just signed up with a new email address. -
Mark Hughes shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this club after the wages he stole pretending to be a player.

BREAKING: Les Reed to take charge of first team until end of season. Ok......maybe not.
-
MP might be at the helm - and should be sacked - but that was absolutely gutless from the players. Body language and effort was poor from the start. Our only remaining hope to to change the manager. Surely Les & Co can see that.

Just seen the team sheet.......and there goes my last hope that MoPe knows what he is doing. FFS.

Not convinced Long was offside. Looks level with the back foot of the defender to me. Definite penalty as well.

Forster had one thing to do in 93 mins of football..........and I doubt if any keeper in the league could have picked the ball out of the back of the net any better than he did. Time for our new owners to step up.

Having watched the game live on NBC and seen several replays of the various incidents.. - Tadic's foul was never a red. It was clumsy, but was hardly dangerous and he wasn't out of control. Yellow all day long. - Noble is a thug. should've gone. - That elbow to Jack Stephens neck could've been far more serious. Thankfully it wasn't. - Very harsh to blame forster for the first goal. Was a decent save - Bertrand switched off. Don't know what Pellegrino said to the team at HT, but he might need a rethink.

I somehow missed this news......b4st4rds. Looks like I will have to pony up 50 large before the weekend. Think that will be the end for me with the cable contract though - the NBC footy deal was the only thing keeping me from cancelling.

I'm surprised the Black Box hasn't developed a 'No South Americans' filter.

Agree with this lot. Terry Hurlock deserves a special mention just his sheer effort, lack of skill.......and landing a few punches on David Speedie.

Genuine LOL's at this wonderful partnership - Poopey and Mustryharder - a match made in the football and business wilderness.

Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition
BigShadow replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
If Sakho wants to better the reported £100k/week he is getting at Liverpool, can't see him coming here. -
Outstanding and thoroughly deserved. Well done boys. One more clean sheet required in this cup.
-
Sunderland will have him back in a few weeks.

USA fans - Europa and League Cup

There is a groupon for foxsoccer2go - $10 for a month or $69 for a year. I stumped up for the year - hopefully saints make it worthwhile. -
Benteke to Crystal Palace, this is becoming very frustrating....
BigShadow replied to beowulf's topic in The Saints
Well our new system was begging for a Benteke type forward to get on the end of those crosses last night. In the 2nd Half you could pretty much see Targett thinking about a cross and then realising - 'What's the point', and passing backwards or sideways like everyone else. -
Some Saints training gear available on UnderArmour.com with free shipping in USA for those interested. No kits yet, but I'm sure they will appear soon.

Redmond - was energetic as you would expect. Linked up nicely with Martina on a few occasions, but had less success playing Austin in. Overall thought he looked decent. Hojberg - Hardly had time to get involved - but did spring a couple of nice 25 yard forward passes to get the attack moving down the flanks.

Fonte is an outstanding example of a player battling in the lower leagues and rising to the very top. Very few players, past the age of 25, represent their clubs in league 1 and rise to not only become a Premier League regular, but also one of the first names on the team sheet. To top it off, he is now a European Champion. Thoroughly deserved. I can't say the Euro's have me me like or appreciate Fonte any more than I already did, but it did make me very happy for both him and Cedric. As for Cedric - I will like him more when he delivers consistently for Southampton FC. I don't think he did much wrong last year, but he seemed to play with more freedom for Portugal. Maybe that is a coaching issue, but I hope Cedric is going to have a great season in a Saints shirt.

Bournemouth was a different proposition back then. Howe probably thought the Burnley job was his chance to manage a club in the Premier League - didn't work out - and the Bournemouth he went back to suddenly found some money. Would be very surprised if Howe left - unless of course the Everton job comes up at Christmas.

Giggs - if the Mancs don't think he is ready, why should we?
