  1. Today 4 premier league games have been rearranged for 18th/19th Jan. Is there a reason why Saints vs Newcastle hasnt been rescheduled for then too? I initially thought they might want to keep that midweek free for us incase we have an Fa cup replay to play, but Brentford are playing us on the 12th and then Man utd on 19th, so I guess 25th/26th would be an option for a cup replay.
  2. They had 8 subs vs man utd, 2 of which were youth who haven't ever played so dont technically meet guidelines if they wish to call off and 2 gk. So of 19 players, it makes 16 really. Minus 2 injuries of ASM and Wilson makes 14. (13 +1 spare gk) meaning the game 'could' go ahead. So would have had to have at least one new covid case.
  3. Hope the supporter is ok and agree matches should be halted. My friend had an epileptic fit vs Man Utd during Koeman's spell in charge. The match carried on while he was treated in the Itchen North and Graziano Pelle scored - I think a Man Utd fan had already been ejected from home end, so tensions were high and celebrations above average for a goal that turned out to be a consolation. It was extremely uncomfortable to say the least.
  4. I thought this too, but on Sky afterwards they said that the VAR people confirmed to them that there was a possibility that both Hause and Konsa could have been shown reds in that same review period. Didn't even know that was possible. It would have been hilarious to see the reaction if they both got red.
  5. Swansea selling Jamal Lowe to Bournemouth. Wonder if that means Swansea will try for Obafemi again. Is there any chance of Shane Long to Reading? I thought they were in a bit of a pickle financially, but they signed both Scott Dann (free) and Danny Drinkwater (loan) yesterday.
  6. Looks great, really strong too - there were a few runs where he out muscled both Pogba and Shaw in the same sequence, that would have been sure to have turned a few heads in the Utd team.
  7. Still think we will use our 2nd loan spot - be interesting to see what position we use it on. Expect we will wait until the end of the window, should be plenty of unsold players floating about.
  8. Probably keeping a few mill aside incase we want to sack Hassenhuttl in approx 9 games time.
  9. Given Hassenhuttl comments about replacing Vestergaard with someone we can sell on for a profit to a big club in approx 4 years, I wonder if our replacement can be narrowed to any of the following we have been linked with : Flavius Daniliuc - aged 20 Tosin Adarabioyo - aged 23 Nat Phillips - aged 24 Japhet Tanganga - aged 22 Kiki Kouyate - aged 24
  10. £15m guaranteed with £3m in add ons will get the deal done I reckon.
  11. If we loan out Obafemi to a championship side(extend contract first) and Broja takes his place then this could be a good deal even without an option to buy. Broja looks like he could make a half decent impact as a squad player and allows us the chance to see if Obafemi can be a regular goalscorer and is worth persisting with.
  12. Atalanta site says it's a loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
  13. Well I would hope that if we were to sign him it would be because the club have full confidence, if the club arent interested I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The recouping point is just my own insecurities on failed transfers - we have done better in the market like of late like you say and the numbers I plucked out the air. If there are a few options on the table then I would prefer us to play it safer (IMO) with someone like Armstrong or Nketiah who in the worst case scenario could score in the league below or be sold for a reasonable fee, than someone new to English football who could be great or a complete let down. If we still had Ings and were in the market for another striker than I wouldn't mind us taking more of a gamble. I think think Nketiah would complement our other strikers well - Adams being a good link man, Tella pace in behind, Nketiah penalty box player. One of the posts above suggests he stands around alot though - so unsure on his movement qualities. But with Arsenal a camp in the opposition half team, I guess it can be harder to find good positions, especially when other teams set out to defend for long periods.
  14. Few press reports this week saying Arsenal were offering Leicester Nketiah, Willock, Maitland-Niles or Nelson in a deal to keep the price down for James Maddison. Arsenal want all of them gone (Willock more a case of he wants to go - and will return to Newcastle). Most bits I've read suggest they value Nketiah at 20m. If we could maybe get him for 18m I don't think that would be a bad deal. Even if he doesn't set the world alight, you'd like to think we could recoup at least £10m in a future sale.
  15. Olise for £8m is a great deal.
  16. Was hoping the links to Armstrong were in addition to Ings staying so would need two strikers certainly. Armstrong and Edouard?
  17. If he can go injury free in pre season I would offer him at least a year extension on his contract (currently expires 2023). He has shown enough glimpses of quality and unlike flops like Boufal and Ramirez - has shown he can do a reasonable job defensively to be a worthwhile member of the squad. He has picked up injuries at unfortunate times and then came back into the team when we had lots of key players out injured and had square pegs all over the pitch.
  18. The only way Blackburn are going to get £20m for Armstrong is if he goes back to Newcastle, as they have the 40% sell on meaning it would only cost them £12m. (Whether he wants to go back or if Newcastle are interested, who knows?) If Newcastle aren't an option it will surely drag on all summer as Blackburn try to squeeze out as much as they can possibly get.
  19. Winners: Italy Runners Up: Spain Scotland get knocked out at: R16 Wales get knocked out at: Group England get knocked out at: Quarter Final Dark Horse (Furthest a team gets excluding England, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal): Turkey Top Goalscorer: Memphis Depay UEFA Best Player: Lorenzo Insigne UEFA Best Young Player: Ferran Torres
  20. Yeah I saw it say on the BBC gossip column this morning that he is available for £12m. Would be a fairly low-risk signing in a window that we may have to take some risks in other positions.
  21. Just saw an article saying Everton are hoping to sell Mason Holgate and sign Koulibaly from Napoli. I wonder how much Holgate would cost? If reasonable amount, I wouldn't mind selling Vestergaard and signing Holgate - starting the season with Salisu as first choice and having Bednarek and Holgate competing for a spot alongside. Holgate could provide a decent back up to KWP at right back too.
  22. I thought we did well to grind out some clean sheets given Fonte sold and Van Dijk injured, we clearly were more cautious for the right reasons. Shame we couldn't have ground out 0-0's at Newcastle and Leeds this season.
  23. The article mentions a strong free agent market, but I can't see many players worth pursuing? Omar Richards LB from Reading looks the stand out choice, was weirdly linked with Bayern Munich recently, but would surely want first team football. Would be a good Bertrand replacement.
  24. It's just current run, I saw something the other day saying Dwight McNeil and JWP were both on 71 consecutive games, but McNeil missed Burnley's last game.
  25. Maybe Liverpool will allow a loan with obligation to buy next summer like with Ings?
