  1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2327233/Nicola-Cortese-Txiki-Begiristain-Ferran-Soriano-seizing-moment-clubs--MARTIN-SAMUEL.html Bit of realism/truth spoken here?
  2. Owen received a standing ovation from all four corners of the ground as he left the field at the final whistle, calling time on a career that has taken him from Liverpool to Real Madrid, Newcastle, Manchester United and Stoke. Really!! thought I was just applauding Saints off at the final whistle.
  3. If this is what the players want, then I feel we should respect their wishes. Would be nice for them to do a walk of thanks and be given a good send off for the season just gone.
  4. This has probably been one of the seasons in the premiership, the last I can't remember, where I really felt we would not be relegated. Even with results not going as good as hoped in the last few weeks, that horrible feeling in my stomach was not there. In all, what with our very poor start, I think this season has been as good, if not better than I was expecting. A good result Sunday, and other results going our way, the end of season table may look as though we had a great season!

    Lambert

I am a fan of Rickies, but unfortunately I hear all the same being said about him now, which us as Saints and England fans used to read or hear all the time about Emile Heskey. Every player has his time, now whether he has been carrying an injury towards the end of this season, then he will be of use next year, but I don't think he will be number 1 choice.
  6. Agree Abide with me was rubbish, why do we need anyone on a stage singing, surely the band should start up and let the crowd do the rest. Those four were all trying to out do one another as if competing in the Voice sing offs! Get the semis back at neutral grounds, the final at Wembley last game of the season, and at 3pm. When watching as a neutral I like to have a few beers whilst watching, don't really fancy drinking at evening meal time. Have they actually researched whether this 5pmish kick off time attracts more viewers, and surely if done for family viewing, do adults and kids not mix at 3pm, but only when forced to eat with one another?
  7. Sorry did not mean you wrote the article, but brought it to our attention.
  8. No doubt I will be shot down in flames, but if as the OP started out with most over capped England players, does this not apply to Beckham. In his prime he deserved his caps, but towards the end he was awarded caps for cameo roles, then surely he was overcapped?
  9. Bloody hell the table at the mo from 11th to 18th is frightening, I hope we have the right attitude V Sunderland. To the neutrals the end of this season must be one of the most interesting ever in the premiership, don't think I have ever known it to be this tight?
  10. Didn't listen to the interview, heard his voice and switched straight off, as I said hearing his voice makes my blood boil. I know also that Hoddle is allowed to dislike Matty, but surely after the England B match etc. should have been given a chance. Whether you like a guy or not you pick the best for England. There will probably many teams where manager and player dislike one another, but the team is the most important thing, you pick your best.
  11. Turned Talksport on and Glenn Hoddle on. What a W*nker with regards to Matty, Gasgoine and the disabled. Hate hearing his voice as much as Venables and Maggie Thatcher, at least one has gone.
  12. Not an unexpected result and we played well enough for a point. All the hurt is coming from Villa and Wigan wins. But if we were looking at other teams about to play us, when stats like: haven't scored in X no. of games, or so and so hasn't scored for X games, then we would be expecting said team to score, such player to score. Therefore I expect Jay Rod and Rickie to get a couple each next week, and us to win 4-1, the other results to go our way, and time for the other teams' forum sites to go into meltdown.
  13. Agree with you, and what age is he, 35ish hardly anything in recent times. West Ham have produced F all.
  14. Who have West Ham produced? I can't think of anyone recently, so what does he know? Or is it just a Gareth Bale link?
  15. Not saying in his case only he knows, but could a bit of tempory complacency set in, achieving the goal of captaining his club, an England call up and a settled future with his long deal. Just asking, not making a judgement. As I have previously said, the summer break could be just what he needs.
  16. Redknapp, the emperors new clothes, what a C***!!!!
  17. Has been a bit poor for my liking this year in recent games, could this have anything to do with his England call up, and perhaps he is trying too hard at times, ie. one too many turnbacks or whatever you call it, and not enough instintinctive shooting when in a good position. Although that could be said of a lot of our play, too much trying to walk the ball into the back of the next, too much passing.
  18. Most of our players have not played in the Premiership before this season, and it shows. Neither of our 2 managers have managed in the Premiership, and it shows. However with a few additions over the summer, and time pre season for the manager and coaching staff to spend plenty of time together the missing parts of the jigsaw can hopefully be found. A lot can be said for just surviving this year, and it may still be the case, but then again the majority of us pre this season would gladly have taken 17th place. A bad game today but lets look to the future.
  19. Not sure how things will end up at the end of the season, could still be tight, but one thing is for sure we have it in our own hands, it is up to teams below us to better our results in the run in. I would rather be in our position. As for today day, again too much passing around with no end product. Compared to their quick passing and creating chances. Beaten by the better team.
  20. Some people are keen to hand over their cash. Whilst intrigued about what the cost will be, think I would at least like to see this season out before even thinking about next and it's associated costs. Being in Europe via fair play could be a factor, as certain games would have to be moved to Thursday and Sundays if we were to progress.
  21. not saying who is right or wrong but we all expect the lino to have an opinion in instances whether the ball has crossed the line, especially if it is to be in our favour. But then who am i to judge as my eyesight isn't that good at distances.
  22. Cheating C if you ask me. Can not see anything in his game to warrant the praise he gets in some quarters of the press, but what do we know. No doubt will be in the next England squad F knows why.
  23. With all the signings going on and the fact that all the players are wearing these watches, is it the same one passed around for photo oppurtunities? have you googled their price, I did and you are looking at a grand a go. Don't think they will sell many in the Saints shop, if at all.
  24. I expect he will spend most of his time falling over at the slightest touch, perhaps Jos should not go anywhere near him.
