The ticket price doesn't help, but the freely available games being shown in pubs is probably the biggest killer to attendances. Not sure that dropping the price too much will help with that. I know many who have stopped going to games to spend it in the pub.

2 threads going at the momment but the link given in the other sounds more like it http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/10/04/southampton-striker-pablo-osvaldo-loving-premier-league-challenge/?

Glad things worked out for you.

Mirrorcarp, hope this get's resolved, to be honest had never even thought that drinking from a hip flask was not allowed. F me, the gentry do it all the time and they carry and shoot guns whilst doing it. On a more serious note hope the club see sense here.
-
So what offense has been committed, is it drinking from a hip flask compared to a tea flask, as the club or stewards have no proof of what was contained in it. Would you be guilty if you were to bring a whisky bottle containing nothing more than water in it, and to be seen on camera drinking from said bottle? You would not be drinking alcohol and your only crime would be possessing and drinking water from a bottle with a whisky label ?? As they have no proof it was alcohol they should hand your ticket back in my opinion. If you get where I am coming from.

You must have OCD and read it 10 times to have wasted 10 seconds . I have just wasted 10 minutes reading then re-reading this post before sending! -
Haven't laughed so much from a post in ages. It's a miracle, we can walk!

Not slating Rickie or however this will be seen, but if he isn't first choice that is the beauty of having a good squad, there will be injuries and having the choice of Rickie being available from the bench if he doesn't start, then we are in a healthy position. Unfortunately I think Rickie's call up for England came at the wrong time for him personally and for the manager, for him he should have been called up before he was, and for Saints now he has been called up it causes the manager a dilema. If he was to drop Rickie then the fans would go into meltdown, more so than dropping Cork.

Sorry but what does the Thread mean? "aint going to to owt much on MOTD tonight"
-
What i said about carroll was the fact that he was not playing for a top five club and that should count him out, ie. he was an exception like Rickie to the rule, but do feel his name being mentioned as being the reason if fit Rickie wouldn't get a look in. As for others comments thinking that I was saying Rickie is the greatest etc. and should always play, I thought this thread was about Rickie called up for England again, and we are talking about the next game. The other players are not available and he is the option. Not saying he is the future, whether he should always be picked, but for the next game he is available, the others aren't, so why do some in the media keep on reminding us of the fact.
-
Agree, I am getting more than peed of with TV pundits like Lawrenson, Talksport etc. whilst not being able to find any fault with Rickie, and if that had been the likes of Rooney puting in the performance he has given (they would be creaming their pants in praise, ROOOONEY!) there would be no question of him starting. Even more peeing me off is the mention of Andy Carroll, what the F has he done to be considred ahead of Rickie. (Falling over cheating CVnt). Unless you have a top five club's badge on your shirt when you go out and play (well that should count Carroll out), you are not worthy of an England starting role, just hope Roy thinks differently. What is this anti Rickie underthread to every discussion about him on the TV and radio, he is an option? Yes he is an option, and currently THE OPTION end off.
-
Agree he shouldn't have said that, although didn't see the interview, but perhaps that just goes to show he is not up his own ar$e and is probably not used to doing interviews, always looks so nervous when on camera. Lawro on the other hand is a seasoned pro, not that he is a good seasoned pro, always talking carp, so no different today. In Rickies case I think it just shows his modesty in his achievements in getting where he is at the moment, and not acting the big one.
-
No Effing way was Gerrard man of the match, I would have given it to Wellbeck before him, if it was a case of not picking Rickie. How many missed passes did Gerrard make? There was only one man of the match, and that was Rickie!

Light hearted question, but do you miseableoldgit get a commision for keep on telling us that you have sent something by your HTC One, using Tapatalk 4. 'cause that means nowt to me. Sent from my PC using 1 finger and thumb 2

It seems like only a few chosen ones are allowed to have any opinion on this forum site, and if they don’t agree with others who post, they then think that by hurling a few swear words, or calling them bed wetter’s etc. makes their opinion even more right. Perhaps all new posts and threads should go through a committee of the chosen ones, and only those that they deem acceptable, and in agreement with their thoughts, be put on the forum. Awaiting my abuse

Think he's still out of work, any chance of him becoming manager soon? Just asking, a few people up the pub said we had shown an interest in him before signing MP. Can't remember that we had shown interest, but how long before NC fires another sacking bullet? Surely he can not be too happy with things at the mo.
-
We had a bad day at the office, hopefully the team can gel together. Although it doesn't help that where as in the past the international break would have given the manager time to work on things, nowadays many of them will be on international duty. A downside of having so called better players? Some on here are worried about where the goals are coming from, but if you look at the Premier league table no team is scoring freely at the moment. Look at the Manure Chelsea game and that was poor, very poor. Is it a case that teams have all started poorly. A few more weeks and then we should be passing judgement.
-
Bad result, and poor performance but only 3 points off top, albeit 4 points off bottom. Early days, perhaps MP has too many decisions to make with players he has bought into the team. Give them time to settle in. I am sure things will improve.

People in the Kingsland North corner sitting down?
Hedgehog replied to 100% Saint's topic in The Saints
Surely there needs to be a rule for all, what happens if you don't read these forums, or are aware of the fact that you may have to stand all game because others around you have been allowed to by the club/stewards. If you buy a ticket and have some condition where you can not phsically stand all game, or the majority of the time, should you be expected to pay your money and see nothing? I am sorry but until standing areas are allowed then people should be expected to sit, if not they should be informed at point of sale that your view may be restricted due to standing. However the club would not be able to say such a thing. -
Not quite sure what you mean by this? My point was that if someone who has actually played the game and can give a compliment, when most of us on here probably have only played computer football, or pub standard at best, can always see the negatives, then who is right. And I am not a sucker for flattery. So the red nosed Manc last year said we were the best team to have visited Old Trafford, you probably agreed 100%.

Just seen match of the day, accidents happen, would not accept Fonte's appology by all accounts. Banker with a W !

Anyone else think we looked better going forward with Clyne coming on for Shaw, was it tactical or an injury to Luke? -
Perhaps people are still on holiday, I don't think the schools are back yet. I have relatives who are away this week and next and can not go. Plus I know quite a few who haven't renewed and will be watching in the pub.

F88CK it just enjoy the ride! Life's too short, if the money is available through Sky etc. spend it. No one can take the money when your six feet under, and lets face it, it is not our money. The ticket prices are no different with our spending now, than if we didn't spend a penny. Or should we just do an Arsenal and sit on a big pot of money?
