  1. There has been posts about having an aeroplane fly past, would it not be good to have a spitfire fly over the stadium just before the next home game, both being a symbol of southampton, past and present?
  2. So who should we have as manager?
  3. One game ffs and all this doom and gloom. Do you think another manager would walk straight in and sort out your percieved problems. see what happens after the end of the transfer window, and if by then we haven't re-signed (Papa or Antonio) or bought in a fast (or couple of fast) impact player(s) which we clearly lack, then is the time to worry.
  4. We may be competitive in price, but do all these teams have a 32K stadium that could be filled every home game? Cheaper prices would encourage more people to watch Saints, thought this year the prices were going to be the same as last year to encourage more people.
  5. Can we not have a poll about are we happy with the clubs new ticketing policy, and or what we are unhappy about ie, what do you think is wrong: a) no instalments b) lack of information regarding renewals c) ticket tax for match day purchases d) ticket tax for on line buying e) i am happy with new policy or f) the club is taking us for a bunch of womans bits!
  6. Last year got a reply from club that postal renewal reminders couldn't be sent because they only bought/saved the club late in the day and had no way of having time to print prices etc. as the club had done in the past. Well that excuse doesn't ring true this year, and especially as they were so late in the day releasing this years controversal ticketing policy. The same thing applies, unless you get the Echo or have a computer and live outside the area, where do the club expect people to get this info. Fans are in for a shock when they arrive for a game and are told you must cough up an extra £2 for buying on the day. Online £3 charge wont affect those people, as they didn't have internet access in the first place to know this!
  7. Any news on how the ticket sales are going?
  8. Will there be a shirt tax? perhaps £2 if you buy it on a matchday, £3 on line or by phone, or if you go to the shop on a non match day the quoted price!
  9. Then this will cause the queues that they were hoping to avoid, all it will mean is the queue will be 2 weeks early, or whenever the next games is.
  10. Last year they sent out no information or ticket details by post, saying that they did not have enough time to print the info etc. as they only purchased the club late on. Not sure they will post anything again this year? So unless you got internet or Echo info not available by post. But by now with all the media coverage of fans not happy no one should be in the dark that ticket details are out.
  11. Not sure if posted elswhere, or have seen on the official site, but if season ticket sales were going well, the official site would be boasting that we have sold X many S tickets in the first few days. As this has not been stated can we assume tickets sales are not going that well. Remember how quick they were to say how many ticket were sold for the JPT final after the first few days?
  12. To compare football to going to the cinema etc. does not really work. Footballers normaly play better when being cheered on by larger crowds, therefore you want as many fans attending as possible. Sitting down in a cinema does not turn an average performance from an actor, into an oscar winning performance, just because the cinema/theatre is full. Also would you be expected to go to the cinema a few days in advance to get a ticket, because i would be a pit peed if turning up I was told thats £2 more as you didn't buy your ticket beforehand, but hey if you had ordered online you could have got your ticket for £3 more. Why do Saints try and put off as many people as possible from turning up to give their support??
  13. What i can't understand is apart from the cost of the postage and envelope, how can they justify £3. Isn't the idea behind the ticket office, is to have people employed to sell tickets. We are being treated as an inconvenience, and must pay for the privelage of disturbing them doing their job, Which is selling tickets, or perhaps i have it all wrong?
  14. Emailed Saints with regard to booking fee for tickets, and the fact that it was cheaper to buy a ticket on the day, rather than having to cough up the £3 online. Reply was as follows: We can see that the majority of tickets purchased are in groups of 2 or more, therefore the booking fee of £3 (for the order) will still work out better value to the supporter than paying £2 per ticket on the day of the game regards David Luker Head of Supporter Services Southampton Football Club
  15. Whilst not happy with increase in price, was expecting price freeze. Haven't the club heard that times are difficult moneywise. But looking quickly at other clubs prices the season ticket price is cheaper than most of the top teams/teams likely to be chasing for promotion. Not that this bodes well for football in general, matchday prices are far too high for the league we are in, hate to think what championship and Premier league football would cost us!! Now where are my prawn sandwhiches?
  16. Love Matty to bits, best player ever to wear a Saints shirt (in my opinion). Yes Nicola may have had a pop at him, and others etc. from the past ,but what did you want him to say? Okay for all to have a go at him, but when he responds, people expect him not to have a go back. Should he have kept his mouth shut, NO. The Echo, Mail etc. have caused all this upset, perhaps some were expecting him to come out and say: "yes i was going to sack Pardew, Marcus is so upset he couldn't be bothered to come to the last game of the season, camera in hand. But after all the press speculation, and comments from revered past employees of the club, i have completely changed my mind" Damned if you do, and damned if you don't!!
  17. Sorry meant Speedie and Dixon (Kerry and Dixon was only one)
  18. FFS lets sack Chris Nichol (sorry AP) and get Ian Branfoot in as manager as quick as possible, sell Alan Shearer (sorry Ricky L) get Kerry and Dixon in, who are going to score more than Shearer (Lambert), and then let the rot set in again!! Pardew has done a great job this year, first season in many since Alan Ball and Matty at his prime, since I have witnessed and enjoyed watching Saints. Long may AP be given a chance.
  19. Can't understand the bus companies not running earlier buses, excpect taxi firms will be making a killing.
  20. A few days to be posted, okay. but now a week later and people haven't tickets, and if they wait til tuesday, not many days to get duplicates sent out, is there ?
  21. Does anyone know if the bus companies are laying on early buses, and not sticking to their normal Sunday service. Missed oppertunity by them if not, what with thousands of people trying to get to train station and St Marys.
  22. Official site says over 200,000 phone calls. Max 44,000 tickets what was the other 156,000 phone calls about ?
  23. When we were in the premiership, did we not get some of our better results, and memorable results against the top teams like Man u Arsenal etc. Even though we were lower down the league, fighting against relegation. We always played better against the better teams. Now a few years on, a different division and that is what the lower teams are doing against us. Dissapointing as it is, don't think the top teams were about to cut their wrists for losses against us, as many on here feel the urge to do.
  24. However you buy your tickets I understnand that you will be chrged £3 per ticket handling charge. Don't think postal will be helping you avoid this. Could be wrong ?
  25. Can,t see why the time is 7pm, not definately on TV, who's to say the TV may then change time to 7:45pm. And why would football league change the date, what is the reason, date for 2 legs was known well in advance on fixture list etc.
