Mowbray had bids on two players who were injured and not training with the first team squad. Slightly different. Neither Roberts or Stewart were ever going to play a part against Saints. And "gargantuan" errors! Really? Very melodramatic. He tried a few things where he had very limited options and he'd be the first to say they didn't work.

I still have confidence in him. Not going to condemn the man because of one game. He's had a torrid month with players leaving and players wanting to leave staying. Key injuries. I really don't think we know what it's been like behind the scenes. Ok, so there's no excuse for playing Mara on the wing, but hopefully he won't do that again and with Fraser getting fit hopefully we won't. I think it's interesting that Lavia hasn't got into a Chelsea squad yet. Not because he's unwanted or injured but because he's not fit enough. What was he doing at Saints??? Just sitting on the side staring at his laces? I'm sure the last couple of months haven't been what RM was expecting when he took over and have probably been horrible to navigate. So yeah, I've still got faith in him.

I think this is the team 99% of fans would pick, so has 0% chance of happening.

Strange that Lavia still not featuring for Chelsea. They say he's not injured but just not match fit. Would have thought EFL trophy would be perfect opportunity. Did he not train with us at all? I wouldn't be very happy paying £58m for a player who turns up totally out of shape.

Reading the Burnley forums most of them are saying that they'd have loved to have bought him but we pulled off a blinder to get 20m for him. With hindsight, I feel NJ messed up by recalling JB and not NT in January. If Tella had come back and carried on his Burnley form we may have stayed up. If he didn't, he may have lost some of his shine in terms of transfers and just knuckled down for the season ahead.

I don't think people realised how hard it would be coming down. With the gulf in wages between the championship and Prem it's going to be harder every year. Leicester seem to have navigated it brilliantly, losing their big hitters (Tielemans, Madison, Barnes) but keeping the next tier so far (Ihenacho, Daka, Dewsbury - Hall) and bringing in astute signings (Winks and looks like Harwood-Bellis). Leeds have had a nightmare with players desperate to leave and visible player unrest and a scattergun approach to signings. We seem to be in between the two with the big hitters gone and so far it's not looking great at keeping the second tier. But Burnley lost a lot of players last year and managed to go up with a mixture of youngsters and astute loans (Tella!) so hopefully we can do the same. But so far, Leicester appear to be far more convincing than we do.

Jeez, everyone is miserable on here. Given the circumstances, I thought we did really well today!

It's not much different from the amount Leicester have got for Madison, Barnes and probably to come Ihenacho or Daka. I'd still have them as favourites ahead of us for the title.

Daniel Levy? He always haggles and leaves transfers to the last minute.

Shame Coventry made that triple substitution, they lost momentum after that. I think with all these extra minutes the teams like Leicester and Saints with the deeper squads will have an advantage. Leicester will be there or thereabouts. Any team that can have the likes of Daka and Ihenacho on the bench will do well in this league

Not surprised if Poch turns to JWP. Not sure where that leaves Brighton as Caciedo downed tools last time he didn't get a move. Can see it turning into a Van Dyke scenario and they have to let him go in Jan for much less than £80m.

Livramento close to 30m Newcastle move and West Ham willing to let Downes come here to get JWP according to Guardian.

I'd agree with most of that. Is probably a higher chance of Bree and Edozie leaving - we have no idea if they're in RM's plans. I'd probably say Perraud is at least 70% gone now Manning has arrived.

I don't think Mara is going to survive this system. I think there's probably a player there if he's running on to through balls or cut backs. But he doesn't look comfortable with his back to goal and it looks like our build up is going to be so slow this year that he would have to play this way. Same with A Armstrong, he's no good with his back to goal. Adams is a little more so.

Where's Iheanacho gone?
