How would you like your Manager to be?
pressingon replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I heard Adam Blackmore say recently after an interview with Nigel "That was hard work" seemed a guarded reference to not been able to divert Nigel from his standard cliches. I think it reflects more on Blackmore's interview skills. It's lazy to ask the same questions pre and post games and then blame NA for giving the same answers. -
A dilema or a no brainer-your choice 1. A rejuvinated Pompey come here, beat us and stay up but we go on to be promoted. or 2. We thrash them, condem them to relegation but the wheel comes off the bus and we miss out on promotion through play offs. Promotion above local rivaly for me.

The question now is when was the last time we won four away league games on the bounce in the same season?
-
That's a bit like taking a wicket with the last ball of your over, then two from your first two balls of your next over and claiming a hatrick, doesn't work for me, not sure if it works for the statitisions either.

The away form which was such a worry at one point has been turned right around, in fact since the debacle at Brighton we have won 5 drawn 2 lost 0. This includes 4 straight away wins (league), pretty sure we didn't even manage that on our great run in last season, anybody know the last time it happened? I can't imagine we ever achieved it in the prem.

Great interview clearly loves it here. Summary - "The Predator" comes to the rescue, tells us fans not to be nervous and gives some road safety advice - priceless!

According to SSN last night we have him on loan from Celtic FFS

Do people really think we will sell out every week if we make the promised land? Last year I thought if we do this well this season it will be great to see the place full, well we have been top two all season, top scorers, played great football yet only a full house once (1st v 2nd) and over 30,000 for boxing day and Brighton, maybe skates depends how many they bring. Not knocking our support but I believe the recession and the prospect of things getting much worse and live tv coverage all means attendances will continue to fall apart from the select few at the top. If we are promoted the club needs to heavily market an attractive season ticket policy which ties people in for a few seasons like Norwich did just to ensure we keep the place full as possible.

Don't think QPR fans would agree though

Sir Rickie is a great mimic, does a fantastic John Bishop!
-
Would love to see presenters with personality and humour as well as great football knowledge for MOTD instead of the 3 stooges. I think Bob Mills and Tom Watt would be brilliant, true supporters who pay for their tickets like the rest of us.

I remember he used to do a mid day magazine programme about 10 years ago - believe me he has got better! I only know cause he interviewed daughter in law with our first grandchild about daycare and we have a tape somewhere.

Why do people presume Lee and Sharp are fighting for the same spot? I think Sharp was bought as a direct replacement for Barnard/Connolly and back up to Lambert/Guly ie we can play any 2 of those 5 together. Lee is replacement for Oxo/Holmes/Forte but could also fill in for AL. I think Lee is fighting for same berth as SDR. I hope to see Lee/Sharp & SRL in a starting line up soon!

Premiership salary for a premiership manager

Eye watering and depressing -
+1 So true To be fair when I look around my seat in the Kingsland today the age range is predominately 40+
-
No wonder we can't fill the bl**dy stadium, Half the fans live in Sweden and the rest split between US,Canada, Aus and the Far East! Seriously though I'm quite suprised how wide spread our fanbase is especially those who didn't grow up in the area.
-
If you say so - more importantly which was your first game?
-
To be fair the ones we are thinking of are not usually shy in multi posting on nearly every thread regardless of work or any other commitments. I'm wondering if they are all just one person and having a job deciding which name to use.
-
Great line in Gavin & Stacey when Nessa said "All I said to Pete was where's the book?" Having said that one of my fav bands of all time. First saw them 1963/64 Bournemouth and caught most tours until The Ox passed on then called it a day.

Was it fake-I would love to believe every word! Yes strange that some of the most vocal regulars have gone missings, yet lots of irregular posters with long affiliations to the Saints have contributed. Could it be that some of the "soapbox kings" don't have as much history as I expected-surely not!
-
Plenty of people near me applauded. In my experience you stand and applaud to show appreciation for the player's efforts as he goes off If you want to show pleasure that someone has been subded you just cheer/jeer.
-
Great response to thread and nice to hear from so many that don't post often. Still waiting to hear from some of the regulars on here:Sour Mash/Matthew Le God/Trousers/Delldays/Glasgow Saint/Dune/The9/Hypo/Hamster etc - who are you?

This but we had two as the OH used to come, that season put an end to that!
