  1. Perhaps Klopp sees some potential and is confident he can coach some improvements into Caulker. If you're reading this that's 'coach' by the way Ronald. C.O.A.C.H. It means helping your players develop. You might want to try it sometime.
  2. I'd be delighted for us to spend way more than the norm this window. As long as they are the classic young and hungry type! Prices are of course inflated, but I can't help feeling that getting in players now, who will ultimately be first choice next season is sensible. Give them the remainder of the season to bed in, get settled, and then get a full pre-season. Make it happen Les!
  3. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-target-spurs-boss-7148311 The Mirror admittedly. I'll start it off....he's **** really, no plan B. Will be gone by Christmas. (All true - clearly).
  4. We do need some investment in the team for sure. Can't help thinking though that a lot of the issues are down to poor coaching. Which of our players have improved in the past year?
  5. Thanks for posting. You don't do it often, but the info you do provide is generally shown to be on the money. I was going to start a post on what the hell has happened to the 'Southampton Way' and our supposedly hugely analytical, top-to-bottom commonality and departmentalised approach. I do wonder if it is/was a load of ********, and we were lucky under MoPo, OR, if it is simply that Koeman is doing his own thing and ignoring it. Gut feel is it's the latter, given that many of the signings seem to be Koemans. I do wonder if he has been given too much leeway, when compared to how we were supposedly set up as a club. Aren't we set up to bring in managers who do things in a certain way and to ensure continuity? Didn't Atkins stress that 'we play 4-3-3 at this club' (and not look to happy about it?) Koeman's not looked happy since the pre-season. Perhaps he just doesn't fit our mould (or perhaps our preferred approach is ********?)
  6. Yep. And then we signed Martina and Caulker.
  7. Did Koeman just put a roadblock up on the 'pathway'? Not exactly motivational for anyone one the academy set up.
  8. And last summer? Clyne - doing okay Morgan - not getting many games And both at clubs seemingly in decline.
  9. Sadly this is the likely outcome.
  10. Swansea apparently bid £16M for a striker at Napoli. They're not getting him, but still. £16M. Think there's going to be some serious strengthening going on amongst the mid table teams.
  11. So why do we let it affect our contract and buying decisions?
  12. We do our business outside of the spotlight of the media. Apparently. If Palace get these guys, and we don't show the ambition to improve the squad with similar quality, there may well be pitchforks and torches turning up at St Mary's.
  13. Works hard, looks like a leader on the pitch, hard to play against, scores goals. And still 23 I think. C'mon Les. Do the right thing.
  14. Shelvey available apparantly, with Palace sniffing round. £10M. Now he would be an excellent signing for us.
  15. How credible is that site? If true..replacement for Mane or alternative to Davis?
  16. Delay decision on his own future I imagine? 18 months left, no commitment to extended, and **** results. The board should be asking themselves how to move forward.
  17. **** me. That is one hellof a statement from a genuine ITK, whose views are hugely resected by the old(er) school posters on here. Care to elaborate?
  18. We need to spend some ££ and sign his replacement early in the window. Then play hard ball with Man U if they want him this window; if they don't stump up, let him sit in the reserves and on the bench until the summer.
  19. Stek - good loan signing. Can't think of someone we could of got who'd be better cover. VVD - good signing. Has had a couple of dodgy moments, but is moree than good enough for a top 8 team. Cedric - bought as the backup/emerging RB i believe; he looks the part for me. Decision made to make him first choice when our main RB target (anyone know who it was btw?) became unavailable. Very poor decision by the club. Martina - seems to be here to make up the numbers for the Europa campaign. Very poor signing. Caulker - cover for the injured Gardos. Though he'd be better than he is. Is what it is; scraping the barrel for cover. Romeu - like him. Wish he was given a proper run in order to find his feet. Decent signing. Claise - good player. Good piece of business; shame he's been injured which has clearly impacted him. Juanmi - don't get this signing at all. We needed a goal scoring midfielder/option other than Mane or Tadic. Is this what he was signed for? Poor signing who was needleselly bigged up by Sir Les. Not a good performance from the board overall. And a worse one so far this season from Ronald.
  20. We need to get some young, hungry players in.
  21. No Juanmi. Transfer window open. 2+2=......
  22. We were so, so good first half. On another day, or perhaps with a more incisive striker, we'd have been three ahead. Second half we lost the midfield, lacked energy, and weren't flexible enough to adapt. Strong decision on the subs from RK, but ultimately not great. Gaston was very poor, Juanmi decent, but all shape lost. I admire the ambition of the changes, but Claise for Romeu should've happened. Will take the positives from the game. On to the next one.
  23. Wow. Talk about a positive change. Can't argue there isn't intent to go and win this.
  24. Ohhh. Gaston coming on!
  25. We've lost the focus in midfield. Would be tempted top bring in CLaise or JWP for Romeu - given he's on a yellow.
