  1. This does seem to be dragging out. What is there to discuss, and how long can it really take?
  2. Fixed it for you.
  3. That's a really interesting line; I hope we get to learn more context around it. There's certainly enough there to warrant some groundless speculation!! So....... The talk of a new 5 year plan; we're seeing some players nailed down to longer contracts. I wonder if we're specifically looking for a manager to bring in and stay with us longer term...to grow with the club as it were, rather than us being a stepping stone? Would fit with the Howe link; possibly the Moyes link (he was long term at Everton). Might explain the apparent non-interest in Pelligrini. A less experienced/less high profile manager to develop with the club...perhaps one that will be underwhelming for us fans initially?! Are we back to a vision of CL footie with a chunk of home-grown players in the side (alongside established stars on higher wages)?
  4. Pellegrini would be a very classy signing. Yes, different to our norm, but I'd back us to improve further under him.
  5. Cortese wouldn't have done, pretty certain abount that!
  6. So perhaps (if he goes) the club have played a blinder......? Compensation, no blame, and bring in a preferred manager?
  7. This would be very, very funny if true. I doubt we would ever find out for certain though.
  8. Will that be on an Everton fans Whatsapp group?
  9. That is some stat..... The interesting thing is of course how many of those clubs are specifically set up to manage player/manager transitions. Ummmm. Us, and .........?
  10. Sitting having a pint in my local. Just struck me how it's not long ago we were wondering who might be better than Wotte and Porterloo. Now we're can seriously think about the likes of FdB, Emery etc. Cheers Markus! And you Kat. #wemarchon
  11. True dat.
  12. We *could* make the case that our managers role, if it becomes vacant in the next couple of weeks, is one of the most (if not the most) attractive positions available in world football this summer. Incredibly exciting league, with some huge name managers set to collide next season, new money, a club with ambition, a stable infrastructure and European football. What other 'big' jobs are out there right now? What other 'bigger' jobs than Saints? If/when it comes to it we will get some very interesting applicants. Exciting times.
  13. We need to keep score of the silly bids that go on. Will it be Everton or West Ham who make the biggests cocks of themselves?
  14. The remains of last nights curry staining his vest. The empty metallic container proved a useful substitute for a late night bathroom visit.......
  15. Here's an idea..... Pellegrini with Howe as his number two. Giving Eddie the chance to develop and learn his trade, so he can take over seamlessly in 2/3 years. Dream team?!
  16. Pellegrini or Emery for me. Probably prefer Pellegrini because of his EPL experience. Would bring some calmness, dignity and gravitas to the situation. Knows how to handle a joint EPL/European campaign, and has done well bringing through youth. He's said if he doesn't get a good offer this summer then he's retiring. So we could be his last club. He could be the guy to take us forward in the short term. (is there ever a 'long term' in footbal these days?) Of course the downside is our usual aim of going for younger, ambitious managers: so does he fit? Or does that really matter?
  17. We do need a 'like' button on this forum.
  18. It's obvious that chucking stupid ££££££ around may have paid off! Sixth highest paid manager in the world.
  19. Like.
  20. It was Ron who consistently said talks would happen after the season. What would be the alternative? Les saying '**** you, we talk now or never!' at some point during our last 6-8 games? Would that benefit the club?
  21. Lol. They can't spell toast.
  22. And no doubt Les and Kat will be asking the question "what do we need to do to keep you?" and then seeing what can be done within the structure and ideals our club works to.
  23. Bloody right. We need to get someone in wiv some passhun. What's Ron Atkinson up to these days?
  24. In this case what would be 'fight'? Us matching Everton's offer? And we end up employing the sixth highest paid manager in the world..........how does that fit with the very clear ethos of the club, as set out by the person who saved it?
