That's a very valid question. In the context of winning football matches, what does 'being brave' even mean? And how is it such an important trait? Does RM believe bravery is directly correlated to successful results? What would be RM's response if Alfie asks this after the game....?

Your last paragraph nails it. A competent manager finds a way to get a solid number of the best players on the pitch and working together, in a system that plays to their strengths. RM seems to prefer having his buddies/'yes men' aligning to his way, regardless of ability. Blinkered, stubborn and selfish. I fully expect JS and WS to start tomorrow.

Showing some defensive organisation, effort and determination is all I want to see from Saints now. That'll give us a chance at least. RM is not able to deliver this.
