Sun Tzu and Nigel Adkins agree.

Featured Ryan Seager Vs Jake Hesketh interestingly.

In fairness, one of them is half way there.

Leicester now level.

Palmer becomes first player in PL history to score 4 in one half, Pompey holding Sheff Utd, Leicester pull one back at Arsenal, Everton winning...

I've yet to see a team have a good season without getting lucky tbh. This "got lucky" thing can be used to undermine any sporting achievement. Last season he did what was hoped of him. It was a success, whichever way you look at it. I'm sorry I just don't see how you can claim in one post that last season's success doesn't count for anything and then in a different post, claim that your angle is looking back at his whole career...They can't both be used.
-
But last season has nothing to do with it? Or are you taking the bad bits from last season but then saying, for the good bits, that they don't count because they're "last season"
-
Rooney continuing to do okay for Plymouth. They love him down this part of the world.
-
They do though? They've scored 2 goals in his five games...Yes five in this league. Which brings me back around to the question of who do you want after the next manager doesn't do well for five games? If last season has no bearing and you're taking these five games in isolation, surely you'll be doing the same for the next manager?

Ralph's atmopshere was INCREDIBLY toxic when things were going bad. Yes, he got plenty of support and love during the good bits but that's not what I meant. The vast majority wanted him gone after each 9-0, rightly or wrongly. Jones was obviously not right but again, fans didn't help. I remember one comment on either here or social media a while ago said they they decided in the first 5 minutes of his first game in charge (a cup game) that they wernt going to support him. If that's not fans being part of the problem, I'm not sure what is. He probably wouldn't have been any of our choices but the fact is he was THE choice. The best thing to do would have been to get behind him. That 100% wasn't done. He had to go in the end but fans didn't help.

Yes but we aren't either. The PL regulars but those outside the "big 6" are awful for it. Us, Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Everton - All incredibly Karenish fans who have probably been spoilt by respective overachieving periods and now have come to expect and demand it all the time. The last manager who was ACTUALLY backed by fans was probably Adkins or Pardew. When I say backed I mean stuck by when things wern't going well. Not just praised often and just given the benefit of the doubt over a frustrating draw against a slightly lower team. Poch/Koeman didn't really have any extended bad periods and after that, fans turned on managers at the drop of a hat. Though having said about Koeman, I seem to remember more than a couple of people calling for him to go after the 3-0 home defeat to Everton at the start of his second season.

They also score goals. It IS a few bad games because last season, he and the team did what was expected/hoped of them.

Modern football in a nutshell. Good job people didnt have this mindset in the 70's because Lawrie McMenemy wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes. Neither would Fergie. I've said before, everyone whinges when managers leave for bigger and better things, call them snake emoji's etc and complain about how "THERE'S NO LOYALTY IN FOOTBALL ANYMORE!!!" yet all it takes is a few bad games and suddenly fans want the manager gone.

Okay sorry. He was 10/10. Every kick went to a team mate. The goal we conceded Shilton couldn't have got near. Let's revisit this in December when we've worked out Ramsdale is good, sure, but not great and nowhere near the messiah he was made out to be in the run up to signing him.
-
If Bazunu had had that exact game today he'd be lynched. Ramsdale was perfect though. Kicking was spot on...
-
If Baz had saved it it would be branded "A save any keeper should make"
-
He was fvcking terrible today. Kicking was appalling. And though the goal wasn't his fault, if Bazunu had conceded that he'd absolutely be blamed for it.

It isn't Martin's fault the player's on the bench are sub par (the ones on the pitch are too tbf). Who on Earth could have come on and stopped that?
-
Not sure what game you were watching...
-
Ex Pompey player coming on...
-
Archer did brilliantly to get that chance. But he also should have scored it. Evens itself out IMO.
-
Ramsdale is better than Bazunu at almost everything. Kicking isn't one of them.
-
The referee is just blowing for everything. I guess I don't mind it so much because he's doing it for both teams but still annoying.
-
Absolutely dreadful since we scored
-
Referee clearly got a bet on number of fouls to be committed. Blowing for everything.
